I thank the Lord everyday that I wasn't an adult during the Bush Era.
I'm too anxious to sleep but too tired to complete the task worrying me.
The only time my African parents tell me that they aren't going to raise me like white people is when I ask them to respect me. Like I'm not trying to cuss you out and steal your car. I am merely asking that you apologize for hurting me.
Abbey Bominable
Hello all, this 8 by 10 painting of Abbey, can be yours for merely $5 plus shipping!
I have this weird thing, were I can comfortably communicate in text, and even prefer to communicate with people in person. But the second you put me on a phone I freeze up. Idk what it is about phone calls but they make me so uneasy.
We live in a fascist regime.
You might want to Unfollow me
If you are following me for monster high content you might want to unfollow me. A lot of things are happening in my life right now, and my dolls just don’t bring me the joy they used to.
Thank you staying with me until now.
Disclaimer: I am not comparing the treatment of victims of the Holocaust to that of the people of color in the United States. I am merely comparing the ideologies of Nazi Germany and the United States as seen through their institutional practices.
Another thing about the United States’ treatment of Hitler that always unsettled me, was the source of their disdain. I never understood why the USA would always condemn German Nazi’s on account of their concentration camps. But the USA had internment camps for Japanese AMERICAN citizens at the exact same time! Like, they busted into peoples homes and carried them into the night to these government locations. And all the Japanese americas left behind everything, and never got them back. So camps detaining people of color cannot be the main source of dislike for Hitler’s Germany.
Another thing, Americans like to point to is the cruel and horrifying treatment of Jews during the holocaust. Nazi soldiers would run inhumane experiments on them and kill them in cruel and unusual ways. The United States was also preforming inhumane experiments on African Americans even during the Holocaust (Tuskegee syphilis experiment). United States law enforcement and civilians also have a history of killing African Americans in terrifying and brutal ways. So inhumane treatment and killing of people of color cannot be the main source of dislike for Hitler’s Germany.
The United States, and other countries that are grounded in White Supremacy dislike Hitler’s Germany because Hitler took imperialism to its logical end. Nazi Germany tried to conquer “pure” white people. Imperialist nations that rob and oppresses countries of color become the Christopher Columbus of history. But those that try to rob and oppress white countries become the Hitlers of history. Germany’s campaign in France, an imperialist nation, frightened all of Europe. Suddenly they weren’t safe from the atrocities they had been practicing for 100s of years. Nothing frightens the conquerer more than the idea of being conquered (#immigration#Brexit).
All this to say that do not let any of the current events surprise you. The United States may tell one story but it lives another. Stop being shocked. We live in a White Supremacist Patriarchy, PERIOD. Our country is really no better than Nazi Germany, and it takes great love and care to keep hate from making our nation into a global monster. Its up to us to keep nazism from invading our homes and world, by calling our representatives, voting in local and federal elections, and peacefully organizing in efforts to continue supporting one another.
Not Today
As a kid, I always used to be wary of the strong disdain Americans had for Hitler. They would always use him a synonym for the devil and a monster. But I would always remind myself that he was very much human. And back in my youth, I could never imagine a human being institutionalizing practices that would intentionally hurt other human beings. As a kid, I did not want to think of myself as anymore morally upstanding than Hitler, and I always questioned what my actions would be under a Nazi Ruler.
But oh boy, now I know exactly what I would do because I am doing it right now. I stand for the human rights of all people, which is more than Hitler or anyone else in his regime could claim. I believe all people have freedoms and should be treated fairly. Just these basic things makes me superior to Hitler and anyone else who embodies the spirit of White Supremacy. I am better than propaganda and “alternative facts.” I am better than passively allowing a fascist to invade my home. I am better than hate. I am better than fear. I am better than lies. I am better than bullies. I am stronger than my oppressors. I am legally fighting any drop of evil and fear that is threatening to overtake my country. It’s no longer a “Never Again” but a “Not Today.”
Is it just me, or are the Tumblr ads getting better?
Drawing Penises Like...
I was honestly so surprised by the amount of White Women at the Women’s March
I looked out into the crowd with awe and confusion. How is it that so many white women were marching, but so many white people had voted for Trump? Do they not talk to their brothers and sisters? Watching them take snaps and Instagram photos at the march made me wonder. Are they only on the streets to “Be a Part of History” or do they actually want to make meaningful change? Because I can tell you, by black ass was not enjoying myself. I was mad that I had to be there. I was mad that I had to take a stand. I was mad that I had to tell my government to respect my rights.
