Completed in 1868, the statues were commissioned by Kankai Ishikawa, the 21st head priest of Fukura Kaizen temple in response to a string of tragedies at sea. The statues were made to protect those at sea, honor those lost, and bring good fortune.

After seeing the completion of the statues, Kankai Ishikawa is said to have thrown himself into the sea where he reached a state of Nirvana.

今日は卒業生と最後の授業だった (*T^T)　

いろんなゲームやってみて、超楽しかった！他の生徒にちょっと失礼だと思うけど、その生徒たちは10年間のキャリアの中に一番教わってよかった子供たちだ。三年間、本当にありがとうございました！

来週の卒業式中、その10年間にはじめて涙が出るかも！

✌️ Easy read. Couldn't put it down.

✌️ Well-written. I was angry on Jennette's behalf for how awful her mother treated her. It was uncomfortable at times.

✌️ Would have liked a little more reflection on how she felt about her mother at the end.

Such a great video breaking down how Western comedies are dubbed and subbed for Japanese audiences. I did my Master's thesis on this, so it was fun to look at examples from Bojack Horseman. Now, I'm disappointed I didn't use Bojack for my thesis.
