Hope you're all doing well! I don't really post much here anymore, but wanted to put in a little bit of promo for an Instagram account I'm co-running to help people learn Japanese. We post a few Kanji games a few times a week, and I try include yokai and a horror touch whenver possible! We recently posted about 尻目 which I thought the yokai fans among you may enjoy! If anyone is studying Japanese and is looking for a resource that covers actual modern Japanese used by young people, then I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend "The Complete Guide to Real Japanese" by Gohan-kun.
A lot of these word/phrases books that claim to teach natural Japanese and slang are still pretty stiff, like some 50 year old stuffy, out-of-touch professor wrote them. This one is actually really useful, probably because it's not written by an academic, but TikToker/YouTuber -> Japanese with Gohan-kun! Maybe you've come across him because he's randomly popped up in my Instagram feed a few times.
It's really beginner friendly with short example sentences and it's great for speaking and talking with people on social media. It's perfect for advanced learners too, particularly those that live outside of Japan and have been focused on JLPT for years.
You definitely wouldn't get stuff like "red-flag energy" in a textbook 🤣

૮꒰ 𓈒. ݂ .𓈒ྀི ꒱ა ┊ Not me seeing this now after a whole week, lol. Hi dear anon! So something that made me reaaally happy recently is that I've been accepted with a scholarship to a well-renowned Japanese college (I'll keep the name secret for now, hehe) to pursue my research in quantum computing. This means I plan to move to Japan next spring, provided everything goes according to plan ૮₍ ´ ꒳ `₎ა.
The only downside is that I need to study to achieve my N2 as soon as possible, which will be quite a challenge haha.
