i get that they're finally having a much needed confrontation but is this truely the time and place? it can literally sink at any moment and everyone is still underground just talking
i decided to give the manga youth gone wild a chance even though I;m not really interested in music themed stories . In ch9 they just added a very traumatizing backstory for one of their main characters and by the end of the chapter we all just move on and continue with the story. no. that that threw me so off and now I can't just treat this like a comedy.

the character was a student who had a mentor who used his trust to isolated him(the student) from his friends. then the mentor invited the student to an isolated room where he and some other people s. assaulted the student and then the next day at school his classmates were making fun of him and he became suicidal. Plus his stepdad said he was damaged and paid him to leave the country.
How are you gonna bring all of that up in 2/3s of a chapter and then the final third of the chapter it's resolved because his childhood friend wants to be in a band and play rock n roll together/ what
finished the outsiders and it's definitely a product of its time. If I didn't have the fastforward button I wouldn't have gotten even half way.
it was pretty bad, lik acting and writing were horrible, but I was invested for some reason. It was fun seeing these actors since I've seen all of them in different dramas playing different characters for the most part. Definitely not rewatch material
now that I think about it, the characters were 17/18 at the start, then a 4 year time skip so they were 21/22 and in the end another four year time skip so they were 25/26. Talk about a whirlwind
Watching the tdrama the Outsiders (2004) and I'm seeing some parallels the other dramas I saw around the same time
ml is into motoracing, same as the ml in MARS (2004) and I think Why Why Love (2007). riding a motorcycle was also a cool guy ml thing in Devil Beside you (2005), Autumn's Concerto (2009), and for a second on The Rose (2003)

in I think most dramas there's a scene of them going to a high place - bridge over highway/hilltop/ tall building's roof - and yelling out their frustrations
I do like that he bad boy/delinquient is broke instead of secretly rich that's way too common now. He's also not the brightest but has a heart of gold and emotes, which is refeshing after all the genious millionaire stone face mls we have now. I know regular male leads exist, but it takes a while to get to them.
If I remember correctly, jdramas tend to have the most normal male leads, but of course rich male/ poor female does dominate the genre.
I also just realized that my mind combined Caitlin's Way and My So-Called Life and they were in fact two different shows. I remember liking both but I can't remember anything about them
