There's something about this shot that i just really like
Rambling about Fairies - Manga Chapter 148 +151 + Anime Episode 62
Following on the previous point about the spirit of handholding and its importance in camaraderie. The Jerza point transitions us right into Happy and Natsu, emphasizing once again their bond before we bring him to his parallelism battle with Cobra and Cubellios.
And this parallelism continues, but what I want to emphasize here is this, specifically.
The anime-only scene where Cobra reaches out toward Cubellios.
Natsu didn’t even need to know Happy was around for Happy to come for him in the nick of time. They proceeded to have disagreements in the battle itself, but even after being poisoned and separated so far that Happy’s just a dot in the distance, Happy continues to try and help or plead for help for Natsu.
As for Cobra and Cubellios, they’re in sync during battle, never needing words. But in this final moment, they had nothing of that sort. Cubellios isn’t shown to return his affection in this moment, which always made me so confused especially when you think of how much Kinana loves him later?? Cubellios didn’t catch him when he collapsed, didn’t lean over him when he lost, she just hovered like a decoration.
And then the scene moves away from them so Cobra just doesn’t exist for the rest of the arc?? Can you believe this distance shot of Cubellios maybe vaguely hovering over him is the conclusion to Cobra’s prayer? Honestly none of the ‘oracions’ had a nice reveal in the manga-- the anime fixed it by adding meaningful flashbacks to give us some insight. The anime wins there.
But it just baffles me, honestly. Why’d they do these two so dirty like that?
show me a more iconic family. i’ll wait
Partially Correct Critical Role
Caduceus: This is our home now and I want to put down some roots
The Rest Of The Mighty Nein: Yeah, okay I guess, don't know how long we're gonna be here....
Caduceus: *literally implants the roots of a giant tree into the house*
Caleb, sitting on Fjord’s bed in the dark: What-- don’t scream, it’s me --I’ve been meaning to ask you for months now, what the fuck is your deal?
