Once the new features on social media platforms get announced, social media marketers often try to determine the cost and the benefits of using particular features for their business. They need to decide whether the cost of learning how to use a new feature will be worth it, and whether or not it would translate into extra engagement and sales.
The Instagram Guides feature is a new way to share information and recommendations with your followers. Effectively, when creating a Guide, you are creating a blog post that is comprised of other Instagram Posts but is built into the Instagram platform.

The first and most important step is to come up with your own Facebook page. This Facebook page is what’s going to represent your brand on Facebook and it’s what you will be posting with. Of course you can’t just use your personal Facebook account, otherwise you won’t be able to promote your business and you’ll end up with a muddled company image.
At the same time, having a Facebook page gives you certain advantages. This will allow you to gain followers for instance without them being ‘friends’ whose posts fill up your homepage. At the same time, Facebook pages give you the option to use advertising later down the line. We’ll look at this in more detail later but this can be a fantastic way to build your followers even more and even to generate direct sales. Your Facebook page is a powerful tool, so make sure you spend time on it.

Facebook is one of the biggest and most successful websites on the internet. In fact, it’s the second largest overall, second only to Google in terms of users. It’s often (correctly) quoted that if the active Facebook users were the population of a country, it would be one of the biggest countries in the world. And according to a recent survey by Shareaholic, about 24% of all referral traffic comes from Facebook.
24% in other words is ¼ of all traffic on the web essentially. And that means that if you aren’t doing your very best work to try and promote yourself on the social network, you might well be missing out on a quarter of your potential traffic. Again, that’s a huge amount to be missing out on. A more conservative estimate from Define Media Group puts the percentage at 16% but that’s still a huge proportion either way.
Here are some more impressive statistics. Did you know that Facebook has over 890 million active users every single day? And did you know that of those 890 million users, most will click on between 2-4 external links? That’s about 1.8-3.6 billion referrals every single day. You should be looking at how you can get a slice of that!
But Facebook isn’t only impressive in terms of numbers. The allure of Facebook is not just ‘quantitative’ it is also ‘qualitative’. What does that mean? It means that Facebook is also very powerful because of the way that it works and specifically the way it allows users to ‘target’ their marketing efforts.
Basically, while Facebook might generate 16-24% of overall traffic, that traffic will be much greater for some websites and some niches. Those sites publishing content with a highly sharable nature will find that Facebook works even better for them and this is of course owing to the viral nature of things posted on the site. Buzzfeed for instance – a site that is incredibly successful and profitable – says that it only cares about Facebook and social media for generating traffic. And actually, in a world where Google is constantly changing their algorithms, Facebook offers a much surer bet in terms of a long-term strategy. What’s more, Facebook gives you unprecedented control when it comes to deciding who will see your content and how you’re going to market to them. In other words, you can target users based on their age, sex, location, interests and more which just isn’t possible with other methods of marketing. This gives Facebook a massive advantage and when you combine this precision with the sheer size of the audience… it’s the perfect storm for any marketer. But just because Facebook is a huge and powerful tool for marketers, that doesn’t mean that you can just dive straight in, start flailing around and expect to get results. If you hope to be successful on Facebook then you need to have a strategy and you need to know what works and what doesn’t. Facebook should be thought of as its own ecosystem and as such, certain unique strategies need to be applied while others should be avoided. Read on and you’ll be armed with all of the skills and expertise you need to start making Facebook really work for you .

Web logs, a.k.a. “blogs,” are an excellent way to bridge from a site like a user-interactive social networking site to a commercial sales page. That's because they tend to be a mix of both. You have your daily blogs that you post, that are typically informal, casual in tone, and friendly, and you have links that are put on a blog that are expected to link to more commercial endeavors. The casual style is much in keeping with the style of social networking, and so it is less jarring to people who can be harvested from these sites and do not realize that they have begun to be marketed.
This gives you an edge because there is less buyer's resistance on this format. Also, as long as you own the blog, you can link to anything that you want to link to, so that makes it ideal as a bridge site. And, the major search engines love to crawl blogs frequently because of the way content is updated more regularly, so you get a wider audience.
In addition, you can put links in your blog posts that send people to different sales pages. You can set up a blog anonymously or with a pseudonym, and thus, no one has to know that the links you promote are from your own website. Once someone visits your blog, they should have an easy to remember URL that is all yours.
Blogs can be addictive because the information should be updated once daily, if not more. As long as the information is informative and entertaining, you can get people to subscribe to your blog. This converts them from an anonymous viewer to someone who is now basically entering your sales funnel. You can then begin to offer them some deals or introduce them to the product lineups on other websites you own, that can convert them from subscriber to customer.

If you are like most Internet entrepreneurs, you start to collect different websites or web presences that are useful for generating traffic
If you are like most Internet entrepreneurs, you start to collect different websites or web presences that are useful for generating traffic back to your site. Some of these places, like Digg, Facebook, or article archives can be a great resource in advertising your sales website on the Internet to specific demographics. However, many third-party sites have specific rules about the types of pages that people can use in their comments, their articles, and/or biographical information. Ezine Articles, for instance, won't allow you to link back to a sales page, and yet, this is at the heart of Internet marketing. You wouldn't be out there, if you weren't trying to get someone to buy something from you. So, what do you do?
That's where you start to realize that there are ways to get around the rules that others put in place to limit your Internet marketing activities, and bridge sites are an important strategy to exploit. Even when a third-party doesn't ban you for linking to a sales page, there are also other times when it's just jarring to go from a link, say like in Facebook, to a sales page. In some ways, social networkers will judge such a move as “too commercial” and you can lose credibility in your authenticity that way. So, again, you want to implement a bridge site to smooth the way.

The term "virus" is actually a broad label that is applied to a number of categories of malicious software. An actual "computer virus" in the strictest sense of the term is defined as a program that can make a copy of itself and infect a user's computer without that user's knowledge or consent.
The word "virus" is also applied to malware that doesn't quite fall into this category, like spybots, adware, worms, and so on. These programs are not technically "viruses," but using the term “virus” as shorthand for all malware gets the point across quickly.
Although they may be able to infect your computer without your knowledge, many spybots and adware bots are not actually capable of self-replication, and thus, are not technically viruses.

Anyone with a home computer knows better than to leave his/her computer unprotected against viruses, Trojans, and other assorted malware. They make your computer run slowly, they corrupt your files, they flood your inbox with spam, and so on and so on. For as long as there have been home computers, there have been computer viruses.
If you've been keeping up with Apple, you may remember some years ago when Steve Jobs was selling Macs on the basis that Mac users don't ever need to worry about viruses. Great sales pitch, to be sure, but more recently, Steve Jobs has sheepishly admitted that "Mac users may want to invest in some anti-virus software, after all." So, no matter your operating system, your computer is not safe from viruses. Even a computer sold on the strength of being immune to viruses is not, in fact, immune.
The fact is that the people who program these computer viruses are just as capable of keeping up with the technology as the people who program anti-virus software. There is a constant evolution on both sides. As the anti-virus software gets stronger, the virus makers have to get stronger to keep infecting computers, and as the viruses get stronger, the anti-virus must be made stronger in order to fight off virus infections.
In all likelihood, this sort of constant one-upmanship between virus and anti-virus will probably continue for as long as the modern home computer is a part of our daily lives.
In the interest of giving the reader a full understanding of computer viruses and how to keep one’s computer safe from them, we'll start off with...

You can’t compare link building to that painting done by Michelangelo “The Creation of Adam” on the ceiling at Sistine chapel, but when you consider the makings of good linking, the end result can pass as an art. By this time you’ve probably gone through dozens of content talking about link building and most of them seem to offer the same suggestions, and while guest blogging and web directories serve a purpose, some of the concept can seem vague and at times, inapplicable.
In this niche you will come across a lot of bystanders and some of them will be okay with the older strategies because they’ve seen them in use and are more comfortable with the result. If however, you are not the type of person who operates on the concept of “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”, and prefer to stay on the lookout for smart creative solutions for getting links, then by all means, read on.
