Finally got my copy of the May issue of Betsuma!!! The articles saying it’s about Kazehaya and Sawako’s long distance relationship are very misleading. It’s a Kurumi chapter….a Kurumi x Eiji Akahoshi chapter. The 2nd male lead from Shiina’s previous manga ‘Crazy For You’ was revealed to be Sawako’s cousin in a short side story years ago and he makes a long appearance in this chapter with Sawako and Kurumi. It looks like an interesting chapter (they look a good pair) but… I am a bit disappointed that we don’t see Pin,Ayane, Chizuru, Ryu, etc. I’m guessing, with the announcement of another side story, that we’ll get one centred on each of the other couples (and possibly Kento?) eventually but it might be months, even years away. 😩

The May issue of Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret magazine revealed on Friday that Karuho Shiina’s Kimi ni Todoke manga will get a second spinoff chapter this fall. The May issue published the first spinoff chapter, which tells the story of Kazehaya and Sawako’s long-distance relationship while Kazehaya is at college. The chapter has 50 pages.

Kimi ni Todoke Manga Gets 2nd Spinoff Chapter This Fall

The May issue of Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret magazine revealed on Friday that Karuho Shiina’s Kimi ni Todoke manga will get a second spinoff chapter this fall. The May issue published the first spinoff chapter, which tells the story of Kazehaya and Sawako’s long-distance relationship while Kazehaya is at college. The chapter has 50 pages.

Shiina began the manga in Bessatsu Margaret in 2006, and ended it on November 13.

The manga tells the story of Sawako Kuronuma, nicknamed Sadako (from The Ring) because of her long black hair and pale skin makes her appear gloomy. The popular Shōta Kazahaya builds a friendship with Sawako that blossoms into romance.

The series has consistently ranked among the top-selling manga in Japan. Viz Media publishes the English version of the manga.

NIS America released the first and second seasons of the anime adaptation. A live-action film adaptation opened in Japan in 2010.

This month's (February Issue) Betsuma magazine comes with a book called 'Kimi ni Todoke works' and also a set of stickers including a knt one as you can see in the first picture. I assume it's an artbook rather than the epilogue that's meant to come in a few months but when I get my copy I'll let you all know :).

Quick KnT Update

Hey guys!

I’ve been off Tumblr for a few days, but I wanted to hop on here really fast to share some news that will hopefully make everyone feel better about the Kimi ni Todoke ending.

I just read the December Issue, and in the first few pages of the magazine, it says that an “extra” Kimi ni Todoke “volume” will be released with next year’s May Issue (April 13) of Bessatsu Margaret!!!! (probably as one of the bonus items that come with the issues of the magazine).

The announcement seems to imply that we’ll get a peek at the lives of the characters post-series…

Without getting too spoilery, I’ll just say THERE’S STILL HOPE!! (Even though we’ll have to wait an eternity to see it…lol…)

Volume 30 (the final volume) will be released some time in March of 2018.

I’m going to translate the final chapter as quickly as possible, so keep an eye out for that! And if you messaged me over the last few days, I apologize for not getting back to you yet! You’ll definitely hear from me today!

Why is the last chapter a disappointment? I can't see the raws xxx

I’ll give a basic synopsis based purely on the pics.

Sawako says goodbye to her parents and heads to the train station where she meets Chizu. They talk for a bit and Chizu hugs her. Shota shows up. Chizu realises that they did it last night. Chizu leaves. Shota kisses Sawako on the station platform. Shota gives her a letter and Sawako kisses him. She gets on the train and cries as it leaves. There’s a series of panels of lots of the other characters. 

Then Shota is shown sat waiting for someone. Sawako and Shota look at each other and Sawako runs up and hugs him.

That’s it. You can probably understand why I’m disappointed now haha.

Aw man what a let down after all these chapters 😥

I know, such a disappointing ending! I find it strange that Shiina foreshadowed so many times a 10 years in the future epilogue and yet we never got it?!?!The preview from last month was also ridiculously misleading. For it to end on such a nothing filled chapter ughh, it really didn't feel like an ending. I'm just hoping we get some special chapters at some point or some extra content in the manga volume. *fingers crossed*
