Arrietty had paused in her tracks when she had seen the human. She really hadn’t expected one here! She was just looking for something to eat was all, ad maybe a place to stay! But here she was, face to face with a human. And it wasn’t like she could run away or anything. Remembering that her father had said, once a human had seen one of her kind, they got curious, so the small girl just stood there. 

“H-Hello, human.” she said, “Or whatever you are called…”

Graham didn’t move from his spot. Instead, he tilted his head to the side and never let his eyes off of her, watching the little borrower as he spoke. The initial shock was still there, but the tone of his voice had gone smooth. He sounded calm.

“I go by the name Graham Specter, and I’m very confused. If you’re neither a human nor my hallucination, then what are you? You’ve gotta have a name too. It’s nice to call people things they’d rather be called, yeah?”

Slowly and carefully, as if remembering at the last moment, Graham smiled at her. It was a small and friendly smile, one that promised no harm.

"Arrietty is my name." she said, still nervous, staying where she was as well. "I'm a barrower." Arrietty wasn't all too sure if she should be talking to this human. She hadn't met many that had such a dangerous aura around them, if that made any sense. But when he had smiled a friendly one, she decided to stop worrying about it.

Arrietty jumped when she was face to face with the larger human. Swallowing nervously she folded her arms. “My name is Arrietty…” she said, nodding. “I’m a barrower.”

“A borrower?” Sydney replied gently, raising a brow. How interesting. She smiled down at the miniature girl. “My name’s Sydney. It’s nice to meet you, Arriety. That’s a very pretty name. So you’re a borrower? What is that exactly?”

"Ah...well." she kept calm, even though she was still frightened. Her father had said to never trust a human, but maybe they all weren't that bad, or they didn't seem to be right now however. "A barrower takes something that you humans don't need anymore...like sugar, cookies, buttons, things you guys wouldn't miss if they were gone."

“Whoa…” Sydney murmured, gazing down at the little being in disbelief. They were so… cute. She hoped she wouldn’t scare the little human. “Hi there, cutie. What’s your name?”

Arrietty jumped when she was face to face with the larger human. Swallowing nervously she folded her arms. "My name is Arrietty..." she said, nodding. "I'm a barrower."

The small Borrower walked through the unknown territory holding her stomach. Getting around was a lot harder when one was hungry. As she headed through the streets, she was careful not to get stepped on, because people didn’t always notice someone who was only four inches tall.

If it weren’t for her trained eyes, Tenten surely would have taken the life of the small girl quite messily. Having taken a casual stroll around the village anyway, she’d been taking in her surroundings in detail and had spotted the tiny girl out of the corner of her eye. At first, her eyes had widened in a state of shock, blinking in an attempt to shake the image from her mind, yet when her vision didn’t change her curious nature took over. 

She crouched and bent over, the girl almost knocking into her foot. “Ehh…hello?”

Arrietty backed up a bit when the other had crouched down to more her level. Not really, but now she seemed a bit less scary and non threatening when she was closer to the little females face. She layed her small hand on her pin sword, ready to draw it out if she saw a threat. 

"H-Hello, human."

Arrietty jumped back when she had seen the man in the mask. Well most of his face was covered. He was such a large man and she was well....much, much smaller. But still she wondered if he was human, if he was, he was a scary one at that.
