I grew up in Springfield, went to college in Boston and after graduating I moved to Chicago. I’ve been in Clarendon Hills for a year now and I’ve fallen in love with this town. I’m confident you will too sooner or later. The Christmas market opens in a few days, so that’s a recommend from my side. Depending on how long you and your brother decide to stay.”

Your story sounds cooler, though. Ah, no. But I’m also not from New York, just went for college. Still an Illinois boy. Wilmette, just North of Evanston, you heard of it? My brother was born here, though. ”

“I think that’s a pretty cool story. Alexa Chung? I love Alexa Chung. I’m a big fan of her fashion collections. A genius among us. Did you ever get to talk to her? And most importantly, how did she like her avocado toast? Wilmette. I do know it. What a nice little town. I’ve never been, though. So you live in New York, grew up in Wilmette and you’re now in Clarendon Hills. Interesting. You spot a new face around here very easily. You’re visiting family?”

“ He’s very nice in real life? As in, you figure that because you watch every interview of his and have him all mapped out or did you have the pleasure of actually meeting the guy? He just feels like a bit of a legend. A myth, I’d even go as far as saying. Yeah, absolutely. Plus you have the benefit of an emptier theater, which I personally think is always a plus. ”

“I’ve actually had the pleasure of meeting him two years ago at a charity gala in New York. He was very polite and we even had a small chat. He told me this endearing story about his grandchildren, it was really interesting because I get what you mean by that. As I was talking to him I couldn’t quite grasp he’s real. Haven’t felt that about many people, but he’s very down to earth. Agreed. Are you from here?”

I’ve actually already seen it myself, yeah. But.. this guy hasn’t. So here I am again. Not to say you should trust a stranger’s movie taste, but it’s good. Malkovich is incredible, as usual. Fantastic guy. ”

“Thank you, it’s very appreciated. I’ve only heard good things about it, so I don’t have trouble trusting you on that. Stranger or not, it must be good if you’re paying to see it again. I also love seeing Malkovich. He’s got something about him. He’s also very nice in real life, so that helps. I’ve wanted to see it back in August, but it was harder than I thought to find someone to come with me but better later than never.”

But yo, I’ve also far from seen all of the East Side and yeah, I did. Did grow up here, been here all my life. Well. Kind of. What makes someone move here from Chicago? ”

“I’ll be honest and say that I also think I’ve seen enough from the West Side for another one and a half years. Well, that’s what everyone always asks. I guess I just had enough of the city. The people, the noise, the buzz. I didn’t like it anymore. It gets crazy. My brother lives here with his family, so I’ve known the area and he’s happy here. It’s a nice town. Peaceful. You said kind of. Why?”
