On this day, Syd's birthday, a new picture of him appeared on the internet.. Released by the Barrett estate and we, as fandom, all know how rare that is!

So given that it's the 50th anniversary of The Madcap Laughs, I thought it'd be nice to go up to where Syd used to live in Earl's Court, I've not seen it for myself before and it was a surprisingly emotional moment. I took a few pictures based on those images of Syd and Iggy outside the flat as well - strangely haunting to think he stood there once and lived only a few feet above where I was, and where the photos for the album were taken.

I'd also been trying to find a vinyl copy of the album in decent condition for a while, no luck in my local record store... until I went in a shop I've never been in before, and sitting there was a mint, unopened copy of a 2014 repress at an extremely good price!!

And to top it all off, Pink Floyd night on Sky Arts which I'm watching with my family 😌

A few other lucky little things have been happening to me all day, and although I'm not usually a believer in that sort of thing, part of me did think Syd was watching over me today. I hope he knows I miss him.
