Rarity accompanied me when I went to make a Damascus steel knife on a blacksmithing course.

(It was really hard to do and honestly, most of it was done by the nice helpful blacksmith staff teaching me! I did expect it to be very hard work and my goodness, it certainly was.)

This Christmas (date varies between Churches), please think about both Palestinians and Armenians, two of the oldest Christian communities in the world, who, for over 100 years, have been facing mass deportations and genocide.

On 19 September 2023, Azerbaijan started bombing Artsakh, which was already under blockade since 2022. 20 civillians were killed and more than 200 were injured. By 3 October 2023, 100.617 Armenians have been forcibly displaced.

On 7 October 2023, "Israel" has cut off all the water and electricity supply to Gaza, which was already under blockade since 2007. Since then, Gaza has been heavily bombarded, the north of the strip becoming unlivable. 25 December 2023 marks the 80th day of a war waged against civillians. More than 1.8 million people are internally displaced, 2.3 million people are living in dangerous conditions, risking starvation, illness and infection. More than 20.400 people have been killed and more than 50.000 people have been injured, half of them being children.

The devastation left by the IOF in Beit Hanoun. On Telegram, Hossam Shabat describes the following:

We were able to enter Beit Hanoun and documented the extent of the massive destruction in partial areas of Beit Hanoun, but when we tried to advance further, we were fired upon and we were targeted near the citizens who tried to remove the bodies.

I saw dozens of skeletons after the bodies had completely decomposed, I saw the cemetery that had no trace left, I saw the houses that were flattened

Beit Hanoun is an empty lot

Everything is destroyed (the hospital, schools, municipality, sports clubs, infrastructure, commercial markets)

It's like an earthquake struck the area
