dandcliions:
he really can’t help but giggle, watching them pick apart the portion he’d offered them and eat what bits of it they pleased. he’s already gone about preparing another piece ( a bit BIGGER this time, they’ll be happy to know ), picking out the thinly sliced meat to keep for himself, as they didn’t seem to care for it much. this was just like feeding birds in the park! just without the birds. or being dive-bombed by said birds. that had been quite the experience.
while he’d been planning on offering the next bit of his sandwich to them by hand, that isn’t quite what happens. instead it tumbles from his grasp, rolling and bouncing across the ground and reaching its recipient that way. had they just… spoken? were those words that they’d just said? bewilderment plasters itself to his facial features as he stares, and stares, and stares——— he has to take a moment to wonder if he’d eaten a weird mushroom or something on his way here. after a few moments with his mouth hanging open, he shuts it again, reaching a hand to grasp at the side of his head.
‘ uh. uhh, did you… ? ’ he points a careful finger in their direction with his other hand, eyes wide and curious. ‘ did you just… say something ?? was that you ? ’ as strange as it would be, he certainly hopes so— he doubts his cousin would be happy with the news that he’s hearing voices all of the sudden.
and of course, he’s forgotten to answer mako’s question entirely. thanks, edward.
Oh, good! They weren’t holding out on him this time. That first bite he didn’t even have to chew! Though it was nice and soft inside his mouth. That was nice. He’s glad to see that the meat isn’t offered again ( courtesy of his fish! ) though a bit annoyed that it’s dropped on the ground. He’d asked for soft, fluffy bread. Not little specs of dirt that were going to make his mouth turn to mud. Doesn’t stop him from eating it off the ground, though. Tossing it up in the air, and catching in his mouth like a total pro (his words, not mine). Ears alert as they begin to speak.
Carefully he’ll track the direction of the finger. Looking at himself first, then behind him, before walking in a confused circle to sit again. Was there something wrong with his fur? Was it the little bit of crumbs he’d dropped? Oh.
“Oops! I didn’t mean to!”
He’s whispering, committed to the belief that if he spoke softly enough that no one could accuse him of talking. His logic is sound proof. Inching just a hair forward, he’s trying to steal a bit more.
“Can you share still? I won’t do it again, I promise.”
That’s a lie.

Tagi wasn’t one to leave the clan much. He only left on inter domain travels to gather materials for his spells or to obtain gifts for his closer friends in the lair. But. He had been asked to travel to another clan to train a young witch…
Landing with a soft noise near the water the birdskull clad dragon hums. Sliding the headdress off the, little over, four foot long dragon dips his head down to wash off the stickiness that gathered under the bones due to the heat.
Sitting back on his haunches Tagi sighs. He figures he should hunker down to rest, as it is getting late. To him at least. The area he lives in does have a fairly short day around this time. Looking around the Fae stretches, curling up on the spot. Trying to doze off while watching the lulling waves as something catches his eye further off.
What was that? Over there. It looked like... Okay, he didn’t know what it looked like but it deserved further inspection. Paws making quick work of the sand as he grows closer. It doesn’t look like anything he’s ever seen. Of course, this only makes it all the more tempting to get a closer look.
And as he nears he will drop into a crouch. Working around him in a wide circle in hopes of not disturbing the creature. He will take refuge behind some of the large rocks on the shore. Peeking out from behind one as he stared. Maybe it was some kind of new fish? No, no, that didn’t make sense.
“Psst!”
The whisper (if you could really call it that-) throws caution to the wind. Worse case scenario he would retreat under the sea. Hopefully that thing couldn’t swim.
“What are you?”
dandcliions:
‘ easy, easy… that’s it. ’ he heaves a small sigh of relief when they appear to settle down a bit. gosh, he’s really lucky he’s so good with animals! … IF that was the case, at least. he’d sure like to think so! his lips curve into a smile when they begin to approach, albeit with obvious apprehension— it was a start, at least, and that was good! slowly, he straightens himself, allowing the tension to flee his shoulders now that the supposed danger had passed. how cool was this? he can finally get a closer look at… well, he still can’t put a finger on what they are exactly, but that’s just fine!
his head tilts a bit to the side as they slow to a halt, promptly seating themselves little ways away. did they not want to come closer? …and what is that they’re looking at? it takes him a moment or two to piece things together, but eventually, it comes to him— of course, not even wild animals could resist something so tasty! ‘ …oh, my sandwich !! do you want some, little guy ? ’ with a smile, he pulls off a small piece, carefully holding it out to see if they’d take it. ‘ here, try it ! i’ve got plenty to spare. ’
Emerald eyes remain fixated on the food. Only allowing brief flickers to the other’s eyes in hopes they’d make the connection. After what seems to be an eternity (maybe the hunger is making him exaggerate-) a piece is offered. It’s.. Rather small. And Mako is fighting back a whine. Why must he be teased?
But the smell is just too tempting. Especially after a morning in the depths. Okay, just a few steps forward. Nothing too close. Don’t know if this guy can be trust yet- oops. He already nabbed it. Just underestimated how many steps it would take to get over there. No big deal, just gotta sliiide this piece away real quick. Yep, just like that!
He doesn’t bother to retreat this time, too focused on the piece ( fit for an ant ). It’s dropped on the ground, and lightly batted to see the contents. The meat of it, literally, is nothing to him. And he’ll steal the bread only, looking up expectantly as he finishes.
A whine will escape him this time as he gently paws at the air before him.
“What’s the fluffy stuff? It’s so soft!”
dandcliions:
he’d frozen mid-bite at the sight of the unknown creature, eyes wide and mouth agape. it was hard to distract him from food of all things, but something like this was much too exciting to simply ignore in favor of… well, flavor. wordlessly, he watches as they exit the water, exhilaration fluttering his chest and causing him to sway. he’s never seen something like this before— not that he can remember, at least. it looks a bit like a dog, but surely that can’t be IT, can it? he yelps softly as a few stray droplets come his way, but he’s hardly bothered by it. perhaps he should be a tad more apprehensive ( it was a wild animal after all, as far as he could tell ) but he’s simply too caught up in the moment to worry much— until he’s spotted, that is.
‘ ah ! ’ he, too, scrambles back at the sudden movement, arms raised in what he hopes will come across as a harmless gesture. had he angered them? …no, perhaps he’s just spooked them a little. that’s what made the most sense— after all, he’d been startled, too! ‘ h- hey, it’s okay ! …sorry, did i scare you ? ’ could it understand him? he doesn’t know, but regardless, this is the only way he knows how to handle the situation, if you could call it that. ‘ don’t worry, i’m a friend ! —i won’t hurt you. ’
At least they had the decency to look startled, too. Mako’s ears would stay tucked against his head. Soothing words allowing the fur along his spine to settle, and the growl to die at his lips. Emerald eyes locked with his as the spiel was delivered. I won’t hurt you echoing through his mind long before it had registered. Maybe it had been an accident?
Paws guide him closer, but are cautious enough to stay out of arm’s reach. Pink nose twitching. Drawing in his scent and- wait. Was that food? Another sniff confirms his suspicions. They had already bitten into it, but maybe they’d share?
He scoots forward a few inches before sitting. Large ears held high as he allows a small wag of his tail. All is forgiven over food, after all.
@pistriis
it seems that with every outing, he only ventures further and further from his starting point. it was hard not to be drawn to the water— so pristine, untouched by anything that wasn’t the foliage that framed it like a painting in a museum. the sunlight dances playfully on its surface, the distant ripples and little waves calling out to him until he could FEEL the water lap at the toes of his shoes. he dared not go any further than this, though— he doesn’t know why, but he feels it would be a poor decision on his part. equipped with nothing but his gut feeling most of the time, he’s learned to listen to it, and listen to it well.
and so he seats himself at the water’s edge instead, content to watch the light show and immerse himself in the calming sounds of nature… and in the savory taste of the sandwich he’d picked up from a deli earlier. surely there was no better way to enjoy it than sitting right here!
Obliviousness pilots him. Claws sunk into soggy land as he pulls himself up from the riverbank. Eyes squinted shut as the sun shows his eyes no mercy. It would always look better from beneath the surface. Filtered over the top, and streaming into the depths below. On land, however, it was more of nuisance.
Water will cling to his frame as he tugs his own bubble free of the lake’s grasp. Hind paws digging into muddy surface as he stables himself and - shake shake! Loose droplets from his fur shaken free. It will start at his head, and end at his tail. Some of the water will hang in the air, before free falling in a brief shower.
It is not until the last of the droplets have been expelled from him does he open his eyes. Slow blinks as the sun’s unrelenting rays pour unto his face. And through blurry eyes, he can make the faintest shape. Ears coming to raise as his vision finally focuses and he spots him. The fur along his fur coming to raise in alarm as he quickly backs up.
What was wrong with humans? Scarring him like that!
stvrstruck:
The boy gave a flinch of response, not only like a dog but it barked like one too! Barked like a dog and walked like one, it must, therefore, be a dog! It was what made the most sense anyways! But Oliver wasn’t able to communicate with dogs with barks, he spoke English and a little German, and even his grasp on the languages was not really superb.
No, wait, he had an idea! “Uh… boof!!” The ‘bark’ was given, wide curious eyes on the 'dog’ as if to see if he responded right. His hands rested on the ground in front of him, returning the tilt of the head before straightening his neck when the bones made a popping sound.
Boof? Was this boy trying to bark back at him, or was this a new kind of game? Uncertainty weights on his chest. Eyes searching Ollie’s face for any sign of deceit. They fail to find any. Standing up from his play bow he’s more than eager to return the sentiment.
“Boof!!”
The word, as if one could call it that, does not fall off his tongue in quite the same way. Teeth often getting in the way of his words. He was just simply not built the same way, though this would not stop him from trying. Mako will dare to venture closer. Ears lowering from their excited perch as he slowly, and clumsily tried to make his way into the boy’s lap. It looked as good a place as any to sit, after all!

Veasna’s brothers had decided they wanted to spend their spring break visiting a sea side town. It wasn’t a very big town and even for Spring Break it was rather quiet empty even. But Veasna didn’t mind. She was just happen to have gotten to tag along and be wandering the shore like she was now.
She sat down on the shore watching the sea happily. She closed her eyes to just listen to the ocean for a bit when she heard someone moving in the sand. She opened her eyes again just in time to see a seashell dropped in front of her. Looking over she noticed an something like she’d never seen before. It appeared to be a mix of a dog and a cat but also with horns and a tail like a dolphin. She stared a moment before grinning and picking the seashell up. “Hey, this is super pretty! Is it for me?”
Further he’ll retreat as she takes the shell. Curiosity tainting his strong front. Though when he is assured that the distance between them suffices should he need to run, he will stop once more. She wasn’t so bad.
A quick nod is to follow her question. Humans seemed to have a skewed value of the treasures that landed among the shore. Though perhaps that was a two way street, considering how much of a horde he’d collected. From lost hats, to flipflops and stray toys. If they ever came looking for their belongings though, he was sure to leave them nearby.
Trotting a few paces away, he snags yet another shell off the beach. Though instead of coming to her again, he will wait, mischief sparkling in his eyes. This one won’t be nearly as easy to come by.
The Whitetip Reef shark is a fairly small shark, not usually getting bigger than five feet long. These little guys are one of the most common sharks found on Indo-Pacific coral reefs. Its scientific name “Triaenodon obesus” means “Fat Trident-toothed” shark. During the day, the Whitetip Reef shark often rests on the seafloor and continuously gulps water to breathe, meaning it does not have to swim to breathe! This shark is more active at night, and on an island called “Cocos” in the Pacific, the Whitetip Reef sharks have learned to hunt by following divers lights.

Sunlight filtered gracefully through the treetops. A breeze so gentle it hardly whispered as it passed among leaves. While the picnic hadn’t been his idea, a day like this demanded he agreed. Not that he was complaining.
“I got a some berries for us! It was harder than it looked. They kept rolling away!”
His tone is light, and he will nose the small basket of berries over. Their pink skin and green leaves an obvious indicator of pecha berries.
“Wanna try some?”
Also proficient at fetch.

eyes remained focused downwards as steps were taken along the sidewalk. he had just taken a visit to his mother within the hospital & now was going to return to his apartment. her condition was unknown. stable or unstable was the debate. a frown played along his lips as the thoughts of his mother’s well being remained in his mind. suddenly, something happened to make contact with his ankle, bumping into it, causing for him to flinch.
❝ what the fuck?! ❞
A few heartbeats will pass as he sits there, stunned. Shallow breaths drawn in as stumbles back. The fur along his spine bristling as it comes to stand on end. His body language spites with a lowered head. Large ears coming to lay flat against his head as his tail begins to tuck underneath him.
Why did he feel so intimidated? It’s not like he did anything besides make the mistake of crossing paths with this guy. With teeth bared, he will speak in a soft, firm voice. He could only hope that’d it masks the fear.
“Don’t hurt me.”

Emerald eyes peered curiously at the girl who had wondered down to his shore. Mental cogs turning as he wondered if it was safe to venture closer. Humans were... a bit of a hit or miss. Some ignore, some scream, and some are friendly. With curiosity biting at him, he had no choice but to investigate further.
Small imprints of his paw pads are left in his wake. His head bending down to snag a seashell from the shore. The taste of sand burning against his tongue urged him to move faster. Skidding to a graceless halt, he drops the gift in front of her. Ears perking as he takes a few cautious steps back. Skeptic eyes never straying from her face.
stvrstruck:
This certainly didn’t help Oliver’s excitement - he was like a dog! An odd looking one at that, but he had read marvelous stories of strange and foreign creatures, this surely had to be one of them!
His eye near crossed, staring to return the gaze and he leaned in close, close, carefully pressing nose to the creature’s before pulling away. “Boop ya’, haha!” Though anything was good to draw attention away from bandages
Boop! His nose twitching in excitement. Ollie’s scent lingering on his nose for just a few breaths before fading. Retreating a few steps, he will drop into a bow. Emerald eyes shimmering with sheer excitement. Most of the humans (at least he thinks that’s what the starfish boy is-) are generally so much bigger. Offering no more than a few pacifying pets before being on their way.
And so an invitation is delivered in the form of a bark. Though soft, it remains loud enough to be heard. His head tilting as much as the ground would allow; eagerly waiting a response. Or better yet, a yes.
stvrstruck:
“Ahh–” His eye widened, briefly looking on with amazement as he continued on with gentle strokes of the hand. The boy sat to be closer leveled with the creature. It was a thing he could pet, he almost wanted to rub it in his mother’s face who told him not to pet ‘strange’ animals. “Cute, you’re so cute!!” He giggled out, a delighted smile coming to his face.
Meeting the Ollie’s eyes, his ears would perk. And as the boy spoke, confusion would stir with excitement. A bit loud - but he seemed to mean no harm. His tail now free of the confinement of caution, dared to become a blur behind him. Mako will shift closer as the other sits. Allowing his muzzle to inch closer into more personal space, but will halt far enough away to avoid the potential of being bitten. And his head will tilt to the left, peering curiously at the covered eye.
