MINECRAFT RP SERVER - Applications Open
Hi everyone! Here’s a new server i’m creating!
The general gist is:
- This will be a roleplay focused, modded smp server. The theme will be decided by the group after a vote. If you don’t end up liking the theme chosen, no pressure! I won’t be offended if you leave, those sorts of things can really affect your enjoyment, after all. Certain times will be allocated so the whole server can play at the same time and engage in the story/events.
Please only apply if you are willing to stick to a schedule for main roleplay times. I will try to be accommodating to all timezones.
- The main mods added will include: Various biome mods, food mods, decoration mods and mods allowing the creation of npcs. Additional mods can be requested in the discord server. Once the modpack is decided, it will be set in stone.
I am taking 9 applications at this time!
Please apply to join the server via my dms.
Name:
MC Username:
Age:
Pronouns:
Timezone:
About you: (interests, hobbies, preferred minecraft playstyle, anything else/etc.)
Your introduction will also need to be copy/pasted into the introductions channel on the discord server.
Current Number of Members: 2
Unpinned the server post since I forgot to when I crashed the plane :,)
What happened to the discord server for Above as Below? /Gen
Ech i got rid of it
Longer story under the cut tho
Uhh guys I don’t know how to bring this up but mineblr can only have 64 bloggers,,, we’re gonna have to drop some of y’all in lava
well you see, there’s enough inventory space to hold 2,368 individual bloggers at given time, with 576 total in the hotbar and 64 in the offhand slot. however, with the introduction of shulker boxes, we are able to hold a whole lot more, now able to hold 1,728 bloggers for each inventory space. multiplying that by the 37 slots in an inventory gives us a grand total of 63936 bloggers allowed to be stored in mineblr’s inventory at any given time.
Alright everyone, get in
Get out of my crops you hooligan

Thinking about minecraft colors
Java Edition Classic Minecraft had such vibrant, bright, bold colors. Colors we haven’t really seen in the game since like bright pure green, spring/mint green, lavender-blue, two types of purple, pure magenta, and rose magenta. It really speaks to the optimistic idealism and simplicity I think this version of Minecraft embodied.
Java Edition Beta shifted and squished these colors into an overall darker palette with the addition of brown and a much darker green and cyan (teal) wool. The cooler colors were shifted to “standardized” ones. Blue in this version is a pure, very dark ultramarine blue. We have Pink ™ instead, etc. This is the palette of colored wool that most veteran players have played with for the majority of their time with Minecraft.
In Early Release Java Edition (1.2.4) the saturation of wool was toned down noticeably, making the spectrum of wool blocks slightly darker than before. Most notably yellow, orange, and pink look a lot duller when you compare them directly and it changed the mood of the game drastically downwards IMO. This was basically a downgrade in my opinion, and didn’t last too long in the scheme of things.
Then everything changed when the Fire Nat- World of Color update happened and cheered the hell up out of the Minecraft wool color palette as a whole, while adding concrete and glazed terracotta. Pink actually looks fresher and more vibrant than ever before, orange looks fruity, yellow looks lemony, etc. There were some big changes to the overall hues themselves though, like lime wool actually being more yellowish and lime-like instead of pure green, and “light blue” is now a completely different color, being cyan in color instead of literally a lighter blue, which is completely gone now. The darker tones of brown, dark-green “green”, and blue, and teal “cyan” have all been brightened, etc.
Overall I’d say the world of color update was a great thing that needed to happen, but it also shifted the perception of the game towards something more cartoonish, inclusive, and kid-friendly as a whole too, while abandoning certain aspects/conventions of the older aesthetic styles that lent themselves to more stoic and serious types of builds. Looking at it historically, you could see it as a return to the oldest aesthetic Minecraft embodied, but while it did make it brighter overall, they also ended up ditching a bunch of interesting pure, niche, and/or in-between colors that are actually brighter/more vibrant than the ones ingame, those which are ironically closer to promotional art for the game.
Remember the fallen. o7
There is a little unknown secret in Minecraft Education Edition
You see, this version has a few exclusive chemistry blocks, one of them being the "Material reducer". This block can reduce blocks to their natural components.
All these elements so far are real life elements, but there is one element in particular that separates from the rest:
The "???" is an unkown element (or various unknown elements) wich it's atomical structure cannot observed in the element constructor. This elements appears in Redstone ore, Netherrack, End stone, Glowstone and Soulsand.
I really like this lore piece and really can't think of what the ??? element could be, maybe it could be something related to magic or souls? Since all those blocks seem to have unnatural properties. Also Redstone contains Uranium so yeah it's radioactive.
god i love minecraft lore so much
i love specifically that it is all implied. because that makes it hit all the more harder.
yes it could be interesting and heartbreaking to read in an old book you found in a temple that there used to be people like you in this world, and they made incredible things.
but it is excruciating and bone chilling to be exploring the world, seeing all these ruins, broken nether portals, sunken ships-
and to realize that someone had to make them.
and to realize that whoever made them. is not here anymore. that you are alone in this world that was not always empty.
harrowing and soul crushing.
if there were answers to the questions. if there was a book or a sign that told you 'here is what happened. here is why you are alone' then the tragedy would be lost.
it hurts because you dont know. you dont know where you came from. you dont know where any of this came from. you dont know who made the first ship. who discovered nether portals. you are treading ancient ground that is packed with infinite storys. infinite history.
and its all lost.
all the information. the lives. the stories.
your legacy.
all gone.
how tragic. to be an heir of nothing.

The case for sharks in Minecraft
Mojang has reportedly said that "realistic" sharks will not be included in Minecraft because hostile mobs have to be imaginary creatures. Sure! That makes sense! But listen...there's an obvious solution.
DON'T MAKE SHARKS HOSTILE MOBS
They don't have to be bloodthirsty enemies and assuming so is to unnecessarily demonize an animal that is an essential part of the ecosystem.
Instead, make them neutral mobs. They will attack only if you're holding meat or rotten flesh in your hand, or if you get REALLY close to one, and they generally avoid the player so it's on you if you try to harass the shark.
Here are some other things sharks could do that are based on reality:
Sharks have been found with all sorts of junk in their stomachs. So, you should be able to throw a shark a potion (either a weakness potion or a new one) and make them cough up a variety of junk, including bones, tridents, potentially enchanted books, tools, or....a live chicken.
If you row directly above a shark in a boat, it might bite your boat and cause it to drop as an item.
If a shark bites a hard block like stone, iron, obsidian etc. it will drop shark teeth
Finally: Sharks attack Drowned. The Drowned are made of rotting flesh! A shark would smell that and be drawn to it. So you'd want to have them around to keep the Drowned population down
Instead of assuming sharks would have to be hostile, create gameplay that shows them as creatures that have the right to exist and rewards the player for respecting them
I still want an open ocean hostile mob that Impaling actually works on (in Java). But I agree that sharks aren't what I want - I want a sea monster. These are cool ideas for what a Minecraft shark could do!
There are so many options for sea monsters!!! An octopus like Kraken, a Sea Serpent, a crocodilian Leviathan...
I REALLY love the idea of sharks biting boats and making them drop as an item. It's realistic, and a funny minor annoyance.
Would definitely need a timer so that they only follow and break a boat once in a while so you don't have your boat busted as soon as you put it down again.
-
I also definitely want some kind of large sea serpent. I want the ocean to be dangerous, please. Sea serpents.
Well, the idea is that they bite the boat to see what it is, and when they realize it's not prey, they swim away.
Imagine being able to craft chum using a bucket, rotten flesh, and cod to attract them.
OH ALSO
To make sure they aren't entirely good/useful for the player:
when you're fishing, sometimes they will bite your lure and pull the fishing pole entirely out of your hand and/or pull you in the water
Basically, add sharks, but instead of being malicious, they cause trouble for the player when trying to find out if things are food.
Kind of like real life.
It would be great for real-life sharks if a popular video game actively contradicted the idea of them as evil
I was thinking about Aque Town again, and my hand slipped. Anyways, here is the start of the city I am going to be working on on and off :D Name suggestions welcome!
