So guess who got the Covid vaccine? =D Guess whoâs probably gonna feel like roadkill tomorrow? =âD
Was actually miraculously awake and heading out at a time the pharmacy was open, so I decided to add a detour to my planned trip. Sure I may feel like crap today and tomorrow like the guy said I would, but hopefully it wonât be too bad.
So if Iâm more inactive than usual even though Iâm 99% sure thatâs not scientifically possible, you guys know why.

âCyberspace Iâm aware of. Cybermon thoughâŚâ They picked up the Gameboy, looking it over. âThough that explains why this thing lost all of itâs battery so fast. It was fighting this place for control, since once this thing is turned on, the world itâs in gains unique properties that allow me to use certain⌠abilities.â They just sent the Gameboy into their own inventory, the handheld vanishing into green pixels.Â
âAnyway, sâpose I should introduce myself. Nameâs Beta, and since you turned the Gameboy on, technically your new partner.â They held out a paw. If they were to be touched, they wouldnât have any texture or heat. Beta wasnât hot or cold, rough or soft, they were just⌠there.
[đž] She watched as the Pokemon picked up the Gameboy, before sending it away for later. âAs the name suggests, weâre digital monsters that live here in Cyberspace. Itâs like the Real World, only there are no people. Only us Cybermon. And now you.â Neko took Betaâs paw with her own gloved one. âNameâs Neko. So whatâs this about being partners?â
âWell, the long story short is that by turning that console on, I was given an anchor outside of my cartridge, as well as being bound to you.â Beta explained.
âThough you are able to see my stats and abilities with that handheld, right now itâs gonna be a while before the batteries recharge. At least thanks to your worldâs different rules, I can have a physical presence without the thing having to be on near constantly.â

Beta and Neko have so much potential together, especially given they're both digital beings. Plus Beta's gonna be sticking to Neko like fucking flex tape.

Beta was glitching slightly, their body attempting to adjust to the new dimension that they had found themselves in. After a while, they slowly stood up on their shaky legs, looking down at the feline. â⌠Under normal circumstances Iâd give a tutorial with the Gameboy, but given that the solar batteries actually ran out basically instantly, Iâd say I need an explanation on where I am and what this place isâŚâ They held out their paw, seeing bits of code surrounding it.
âBecause this definitely isnât the physical world, yet isnât my cartridgeâs world either⌠Itâs somewhere elseâŚâ
[đž] At least the strange creature was alright, that was a relief. Neko saw the bits of code surrounding the paw that the Vaporeon held out. They were a digital creature as well then, a given since they came from some strange device on the ground. It did make her wonder how it got into Cyberspace in the first place.
âThis land is called Cyberspace. Itâs where us Cybermon live.â

Once the Gameboy was turned on, the classic jingle went off with the colorful âGameBoy COLORâ logo appearing for a brief moment. However, the audio glitched at the end. Cyberspace itself seemed to warp and bend as the Gameboy fought it for control. Eventually though, the thing just gave and let out a loud screech from the speakers, a blast of green energy shooting out from the camera before shaping itself into the shape of a Vaporeon.Â
A few seconds passed before the Vaporeon moved, letting out a howl as a column of pixelated monochrome green energy shot from below it, the world briefly turning more voxel-like before quickly reverting. When the column thinned into nothingness, Beta was lying on the ground, half unconscious. Beside them was a hovering bar that wrapped around slightly in front of them. â25/25âł was on the inside of the rightmost end, while hovering above the leftmost end was âHPâ.
[đž] The world around her seemed to wrap and glitch as if it was fighting with the odd object for control. She was tempted to turn it off, fearing what it might do, but curiosity kept her from doing that. The catâs ears folded back at the loud shriek the device gave off, before a blast of green energy exploded from it, causing her to drop it.
The energy itself turned into a strange creature that she hadnât seen before. The Vaporeon let out a howl, seeming to have collapsed onto the ground once the column died down. Neko made her way over to the Water-type, checking to see if they were alright. The stats were nothing new and hardly phased the other digital creature as it was a normal thing in the world anyway and even if it wasnât, her focus was making sure Beta was alright.
âAre you alright?!â

The Catmon noticed the power button that was a bit away from ON and ever curious as she was, she attempted to flip it to the spot to see what it would do.

[đž] A pair of blue-grey eyes looked at the small device that was laying on the grass. A claw came to gently poke the object. What in all of Cyberspace was this? How did it get here? Had someone lost it? What did it do? Was it harmful?
