@366kmph thank you for asking about the exact verb marc used in his answer because i went out and found the interview mela did and it is absolutely fascinating how marc does answer.
mela: you said many times that you would like for the two of you to be able to sit down to talk someday and for your relationship to improve. have you had any contact or progress in that regard since his [vale's] retirement?
marc: no, and i don't want it [anymore] either. as the years go by, i want it less and less, and i don't care anymore.
"y cada vez lo quiero menos" is very funny in this context bc yeah, it obviously refers to his previous sentence of "tampoco lo quiero" as in, "i don't want it", and "i want it less and less", querer as wanting.
however, correct me if im wrong, querer can also mean loving, and "cada vez lo quiero menos" by itself (without the context of the previous sentence) can definitely mean to "love him less and less". and if you are rpf-pilled, as mat oxley seems to be, you can certainly read at LEAST a double meaning into "cada vez lo quiero menos", or alternatively, as mat has, interpret the second sentence without the explicit context of the first and choose to believe that's what marc meant to say.
in any case, it is... marc could have chosen a different way of expressing himself here. a definitively less ambiguous way. but he did not. instead he used a sentence that does hold the double meaning of, as the years pass, i want the reconciliation less and less because i care about it [=him] less and less. i want the contact less because i love him less. it is, in itself, a connected sentiment. marc's feelings for valentino and his desire to better their relationship seem to go hand in hand. and as time passes, he is slowly moving on, both from the feelings [whatever nature they were] and his desire to salvage their relationship. that is at least what he seems to have tried to express.
