“No offense, but the problem isn’t him being a good brother. The problem is you,” PJ said, “If you think you’re poisoning your family by being in their life, what do you think pushing him away is doing to him?”

While the other tried to look threatening, PJ just looked amused, “You shouldn’t start fights you can’t win, sweetheart. I’m sure your girlfriend would hate to have that face all bloodied and bruised.”

“I’ll put it on my grocery list.” Drake wasn’t getting him a new mug. It would be one of those presents for when he royally fucked up. That or it’ll have his face on it because everyone needed a Drake mug. It was the best edition to any home. “Do you actually get to party or is it all work? I would hate to be stuck at a constant party and never get the chance to enjoy myself.”
“You’re lucky it wasn’t one of Alexa’s. You wouldn’t be invited back after that,” PJ said, “I’m the bouncer. I don’t even get to go inside except to get a drink on my breaks,” He paused, “On the contrary, I find it more entertaining to kick out drunken fools than actually partying.”

“I was here first, actually. So it’s you who should leave,” Wes countered, taking a step closer to him.
“Well I was trying to have a conversation with someone and you rudely interrupted so you can leave or you can mind your own damn business.”

Sloane nodded. “Yeah, I was pretty good on my own anyway,” she replied. She shrugged. “Sort of. We all kind of ended up in Grove. Darcy got here not too long ago, and well Aiden, he kept being my sibling a secret from me for a while. I’ve been kind of icing him out lately.”
“No one’s good on their own. I like my time alone but everybody needs somebody to rely on and who’s got their back,” That’s what he had his family for, “Did you not get along before you realise he was your brother?” He asked curiously, “Like is he an asshole or something?” He couldn’t think of any other reason to ice out family when she had it.

“Yeah– yeah that’s probably it,” she tried to shake the feeling. He could’ve easily been someone she had just passed casually in the street before. Nothing more. But still the feeling seemed to linger. “Well if you want to, then sure,” Alaska chuckled, almost forgetting where they had started. She wasn’t sure what he’d want to know about her but it couldn’t hurt, right? “Ask away.”
“Of course I want to, thought this was all about not being mysterious anymore. Goes both ways you know,” PJ joked and then thought for a moment, “Alright, what about family? You got any siblings or anything?”

“I don’t know, I’ve been through some pretty horrible foster homes. Some of which had me and my siblings separated.”
“They must have been bad enough for you to run away. I’m assuming that’s what you did,” PJ said, “You still in touch with your siblings?”

“Yeah, but first it’s moving out, and then never being able to see each other, in risk of you getting caught. I’d rather give it up, if that meant you’re safe,” Alexa replied. “Besides, it was dumb anyway, I could never be what my parents were.” It felt weird to call them her parents when she knew the truth, that her biological parents were out there somewhere, but they were her parents, at least to her.
“You’re right, you could never,” PJ paused, “You could be better. I think you’d be a great hero, Alexa. And I’m sorry life dealt us a shitty hand and we ended up the way we did.”

Aurelie shook her head. “No, it’s was a pretty valid and understandable question.”
“With a pretty obvious answer,” PJ pointed out, “Okay what else should I learn?”

Drake was hunched over nursing a cup of coffee. He was exhausted from being out the night before. He needed to sleep but he wasn’t ready to, not yet. “Whoever is playing that goddamn music is going to die. I mean it. I will end them.” He groaned as he threw the mug at the wall. The coffee dripped down the wall into a pool onto the floor. “Sorry, I just hate people sometime.” He sighed leaning back in his seat. “How was your night? Had any fun plans? Late night dips, howling in the moonlight?” He teased weakly.
“Well you owe me a new mug,” PJ said, glancing at the wall behind him, “You are gonna clean that up right?” He shrugged, “I didn’t to much. Just work and throwing a few people out of the club. Not much else.”

“Trust me, I was listening super intently,” Merinda insisted when the other didn’t seem to happy about her disassociating in the middle of them talking to her. “But just for good measure, could you repeat that one more time?”
“Define super intently,” PJ said, “Because to me it means what you heard doesn’t need to be repeated.”

“Hey, nothing is ridiculous in this town. A lot of weird shit happens so it wouldn’t surprise me if someone around here had fangs.” Danny commented, “But what if you were just really good at covering it up because you didn’t want us to know- in fact, all the things you’re saying right now is exactly what a vampire would say to throw someone off their scent.” Danny continued, making a motion with his hand to gesture he was watching the other. “I guess you’re right, I’m still suspicious though. Not going to get my neck too close to your face.”
“You know what, you’re right. You got me,” PJ said, raising his hands in surrender, “I am 100% a vampire, sorry I didn’t tell you sooner.”

“I was going to say, the where is hardly the question you should be asking.” James commented before shrugging, “I was drunk, do you never do random shit when you’re drunk?” He asked, “I had spent an hour talking to the people I was with about how cool it would be to have a penguin as a pet and then I guess I put the money where my mouth is, downside was that I woke up penguin-less and in a holding cell after being arrested.” He continued, a fond expression on his face as he recalled the night and the story he now got to tell because of it. “Fine. Be boring. But I don’t want to traumatize the thing, so I guess the shelter is the sensible route to go down.”
“I drink when I’m drunk, I don’t steal penguins. What happened to the penguin do you know?”

Sloane shrugged. “I tried avoiding it best I can, better than the shitty foster homes they used to put me in.”
“You should have seen the orphanage I ran away from. Couldn’t have been any worse than that.”
