Pokets are people with a magical inclination towards a certain element, or as we know them, Pokemon type. Traditionally, the power is said to have come from the mixing of the blood of magical creatures and humans in the ancient time where they were practically the same.
Nowadays people don’t take kindly to the implication that their ancestors once cohabited with beasts, especially with the recent Arceism belief that humans were created exactly as they were now by the great god. Pokets like to claim that their magical abilities come from the Gods, a magical gift thrust upon them to guide their fate. They were given ‘pockets’ of power, hence their name.
Pokets look mostly like normal humans to start out, but each type of Pocket have slight ‘tells’ to signal their element. Some general guidelines to ‘pick a poket’ are as follows, but by no means apply to every person of that type.
Water and Poison Pokets are of averadge build, but the way they move tends to convey that they weigh nothing at all. There’s a distinct flow to their actions that’s hard to describe. Many become dancers.
Ghost and Flying Pokets are graceful and mysterious, and tend lithe and frail looking compared to the others. Ghost Pokets look like ghosts, while Flying Pokets look angelic.
Steel and Dragon Pokets are sturdy, strong folk, often depicted as brutal and loyal warriors. Their expressions are hard, and their eyes are fierce. These Pokets are known for having unusual eye colors.
Ice Pokets are paler and cold to the tough, and are generally of fair skin. stereotypical they are cold hearted people, oblivious to the plight of their fellow man.
Ground and Rock Pokets are stereotypical shorter and hardier, with tough skin and darker complexions. Their features are squared off, and their bodies tend to pack in muscle naturally.
Fire and Electric Pokets aren’t easy to spot through appearance, but rather demeanor. These Pokets are usually bursting with energy and spirit, easily lighting a fire under their comrades. Fire Pokets are warm to the touch.
Fairy and Dark Pokets generally look straight out of a fairy tale: tall, mysterious, cloaked in mystery. The biggest tell of these Pokets are slightly pointed ears.
Bug and Grass Pokets tend to follow the stereotypical look of wood elves. Taller than average, sharp angular features with soft eyes. Some folk tales say a Grass and Bug Poket always smell like freshly cut grass.
Psychic Pokets are the most mysterious of all Pokets. There’s no surefire way to tell who belongs to this subset of users, but people say that they have a commanding aura about them.
Normal and Fighting Pokets are the most plain, and are extremely hard to pick out of a crowd. They both have a knack for picking up the trades of other Pokets, and are skilled in the use of Aura.
The more powerful a Poket becomes, the more the magic of their blood consumes them, and slowly their features change to better reflect their type. If a Poket isn’t careful, the power can consume them.
All magic comes with a price, after all.
