About Nurse Elora!
Hi there! My name is Elora and I've been a Travelling Pokémon Center Registered Nurse (T-PCRN) for 6 years! I'm currently based in the Unova region!
UPBRINGING!
I'm originally from Mauville City in Hoenn. I grew up in a household that primarily raised Electric-type pokémon. We have close ties with Wattson, the Mauville City Gym Leader, and thus a majority of my household worked or went on to work within the Gym.
Technically, my very first pokémon was a Pichu, who I named Emmy, being as we were an Electric-focus household. Emmy and I essentially grew up together, and we only parted ways when I decided that I would not be following in my family's footsteps by joining the Mauville City Gym.
Emmy has since fully evolved into a beautiful Raichu, and is currently under the care of my cousin Jenessa, who works at the gym.
As mentioned above, I moved away from the Hoenn region after graduating from the Mauville City School for Primary Education and Inspiring Trainers at age 18. I was gifted Zenith, who at the time was an Eevee, as a graduation present.
EDUCATION!
Shortly after graduating, I moved to the Unova region, where I enrolled at the Healthcare Institute of Unova in Castelia City. I graduated magna cum laude with dual majors of Medicinal Nursing and Pokémon Science. My areas of focus in the latter were Psychic- and Ice-types.
My inspiration for becoming a nurse came from a lovely woman by the name of Janice, who worked in the Lilycove City Pokémon Center as a nurse. I wont go into too much detail, but she helped me out during my days as a young gym challenger, and I don't think I'd be where I am today without her help.
WORK!
I currently work as a Travelling Registered Nurse and Pokémon Care Nurse and various Pokémon Centers in the Unova region. The city I work in may change each month, week, or day!
I love my job and I love what I do, but being as I'm one of the more experienced nurses, I do tend to get a larger workload than some of the others. Days are long, and the Centers are especially busy during what I like to call "Gym Trainer Season."
MY TEAM!
I'm currently raising four pokémon of my own. My primary partner is Zenith, who has since evolved into an Espeon. I have an Audino named Darcy who is my right-hand-mon at the Pokémon Center. I also have a Glaceon named Lucy and a Musharna named Vaiana. All four of them have been properly trained in health services and often help out at the Pokémon Center.
I — or should I say, Lucy — recently found an abandoned Zorua pup that was in pretty rough shape. I've been working on rehabilitating him, and he has warmed up to me and the rest of my team, but has started to see Lucy as his mother. I've named him Nelly.
Xaria the Vulpix belongs to Les, a dear friend of mine from university, who has asked me to take care of her while he is on an extended business trip to the Paldea region.
OUT OF CHARACTER!
Inspired by Tumblr-user realpokemon, this blog participates in the popular trend known as "Pokémon IRL," while also engaging in a little bit of a role-play aspect.
This blog is primarily supposed to be an ask-blog, however I will also be running it as a "personal" blog for this character.
The canon I will be focusing on includes the anything mentioned or referenced in the mainline games. I have not played Arceus Legends yet, so I will probably be avoiding including any history revolving around that game. Ash Ketchum from the Pokéani means nothing to this blog. When talking about geographic locations, I imagine them to be on scale with IRL cities, especially in relation to where the region is based from.
Pokémon Centers, in my headcanon, act in a similar fashion to Urgent Cares and Vet Offices combined. Human hospitals and specialty pokémon hospitals do exist separately.
All posts will be tagged with #pkmn irl. I'm going to try and avoid using the #unr3ality tag unless specifically asked to, or unless a post breaches containment.
Expect to see some cursing on this blog, but I'll be keeping it to a casual minimum.
About the person behind the blog: I've been using Tumblr since 2010. Espeon isn't even my favorite pokémon. I am a nurse IRL. DM if you want to follow my main blog.
