My name's Vincent, and I'm a Pokemon Ranger from the Kalos Region.
((This is a Indie Pokemon OC RP Blog! Uses a lot of PAC format, but not officially a PAC blog, and is open to interactions across all Regions and Pokemon verses! May RP outside Pokemon universe if I know what it is.))
For anyone who followed me before and thought I was actually neat enough to follow again, I’ve restarted over on a new blog linked here! It’d be awesome if people decided to follow me here, especially since I missed doing this so much :D
Three more poachers. One had come out of his stupor mere moments after Vincent had reached the scene, screaming, scared out of his mind. Literally. The man could barely keep it together for a good five minutes and now he was just sort of lying limp against the tree, breathing slowly becoming more even.
“Three months of this,” Vincent said with a sigh as he stood from the man. “Who is doing this?”
The question was posed to no one in particular, since no one else was around, but Arluin cocked his head and huffed in response anyway. The Ranger ran a hand across his forehead and looked around. There had definitely been a battle, but whoever had won had done so handily. Just like the rest of the attacks. This was getting tiring. Sure, they were taking in a good number of poachers, but they weren’t really getting anywhere with finding the rest. Not to mention it was causing Vincent to run all over the region every time one of these “anonymous tips” came in.
Another poacher woke up and started screaming. It didn’t make Vincent jump anymore, though Milani jumped and shoved her head into Vincent’s leg. “Don’t worry, he’s still tied up,” the Ranger assured the Vulpix.
He’d been bringing her with him to let her get some field experience, start training her. She still had trouble with getting startled and keeping focus, but she was learning quickly other than that. Suddenly Arluin started grumbling, and Milani’s ears perked up, quickly trotting over, now ignoring the dying screams of the awoken man.
“What is it?” Vincent asked as he joined his Furfrou at a seemingly random spot near the tree of poachers.
The Pokemon sniffed around, slowly making his way around in a couple circles, then towards each of the poachers. He shook his head and huffed loudly at the one that was still unconscious, then whined a little.
Vincent frowned. “I’m going to need a little more than that. You smell something, obviously?” Arluin nodded. “Something familiar?” Another nod. “...Someone you know?”
The Pokemon nodded again and whined, laying down and looking at Milani. Vincent looked at the grey Vulpix and stroked his chin, a small pit forming in his stomach. From what little he’d been able to pick up on, each of these poachers were related to the man who Logan and Cherise were currently investigating as well. Which meant they were connected to the attacks on Faye’s ranch. Considering what she’d done before...
“Faye… Please tell me you don’t have anything to do with this…”
Arluin whined again and Vincent shook his head, wondering what to do now.
Of all the things Vincent expected to find when he went looking for the poacher Logan had indicated in his post, Faye was not one of them. He found the woman alone, and no poacher in sight, both Arluin and Milani at his side, and Colette soaring up above.
“Faye? What are you doing here?” He asked, his voice firm. “There’s supposed to be a poacher around here, you shouldn’t be here.
An Altaria circled Colette twice, in greeting before turning back her attention to the forest below as if searching for something.
At the sight of the ranger, Cinnie stood next to her trainer, head held high and with a slight growl of warning until Faye shoved her snout away as per usual. The brunette avoided the other’s eyes and with a sigh responded, “I know. She got away, Serene and Susie are looking for her though.”
The small Vulpix, upon seeing the Ninetails, barked happily and ran up to Cinnie, while Arluin stayed close by Vincent’s side, though was trying to keep a close eye on the young Pokemon. “You know? What do you mean you know? If you know, you really shouldn’t be here! I’ve got Colette looking, you should get your Pokemon and go home.”
Arluin looked up at Vincent and then over at Faye and Cinnie and cocked his head.
The fire fox lay down to Milani’s level, licking her nose in greeting with an amused sound, her body language relaxing but eyes drifting to Vincent now and then, ears pinned back once he started questioning her.
Faye took an involuntary breath before answering, “I, um, read it on the dash and decided to come check it out and..” And what? She rushed over to the area to find a woman in hysterics, a woman that fit the description she saw on the holodash, but that wasn’t needed seeing as she demanded her to give her her pokemon.
Her brows furrowed, as she recalled the memory, “She’s not.. very competent I think..”
“And yet she’s missing,” Vincent continued, still not looking any happier. “Not only that, but even if she isn’t, she’s still high up enough to be dangerous! You’ve already had one bad run-in, why would you put yourself in further danger!”
Arluin grumbled a little, very low, Faye wouldn’t hear though the more sensitive ears of the other Pokemon would pick it up. Vincent took the cue and realized he was getting worked up, taking a few moments to try and calm down.
He only spoke again when he managed to make his voice sound calm, and not panicked or angry. “Faye, please, just go home. I will keep looking for the poacher.”
Milani was barely paying any attention to anything going on, tails wagging happily from the attention from Cinnie, and pressing her head into Cinnie’s chest in an attempt to get even more.
The brunette couldn’t help but flinch as he raised his voice, “I’m sorry, she got away, I just-” She stopped as he continued, waiting until he was finished talking before trying to explain herself. “I’m already here, my pokemon are already here, looking for the poacher too. She has no pokemon, we knocked them out already so she can’t be too far by now.”
The Ninetales kept the Vulpix entertained, but her eyes flashed in warning as the ranger raised his voice. It didn’t take long for for a pair of humans to burst out of the foliage near them, one that Vincent would recognize as Medea. Panting and eyes glowing, she relaxed once she realized that it was just the ranger. The male figure that stood with her didn’t relax at the sight. The tall, tanned man glared at the other, with that same feral look Cinnie always gave him.
Vincent closed his eyes and furrowed his brow, taking a deep breath to keep from snapping again. Why was it so hard for her to understand why this was such a bad idea? She shouldn’t be here at all, having managed to knock out the poacher’s Pokemon or not.
As soon as the figures burst from the bushes, Arluin hunched over and growled loudly, moving quickly to stand between Vincent and whoever was approaching. Once the Furfrou recognized Medea, he turned his attention on the second figure, ready to attack at a moment’s notice. Vincent was similarly tense, waiting to see what the figure would do before giving an order.
“I’m assuming you guys didn’t find her if you’re back already..” the brunette muttered, turning her attention at the pair of shapeshifters behind her. The man gave the Furfrou a cold glare, flashing a pair of fangs before shaking his head at Faye’s statement. “Okay, let me think.. I’m not leaving Vincent. I’ll be fine, I am fine, can’t you tell?”
Arluin didn’t stop bristling, but Vincent managed to tear his attention away from the… man? “I…” Well she was fine, but she could’ve been seriously injured, especially if the poacher had backup like when she’d stumbled upon the poachers at the ranch.
He sighed and shook his head. “Fine, you can stay,” if only because he could keep an eye on her from here. “Just. Be careful. And who is this?” Vincent glared back at the man.
“Mercer,” Faye flicked his ear with her finger, not too hard, but the action was enough for the illusion to fade away, leaving only a Zoroark. The pokemon snarled at her in response, opting to just lay flat on the floor and grumble to himself. “I’m watching him for a friend. And I will be careful, I promise, and if we keep standing here talking she’s going to get away!”
Vincent blinked in surprise, taken aback by the sudden appearance of the Zoroark, though Arluin continued to grumble until Mercer lay down. He still didn’t look too pleased, but he settled down enough for now.
“You have a Zoroark as well? Since when?” Vincent asked.
Milani had buried herself as deep into Cinnie’s fur as possible, frightened by Mercer’s attitude and sudden appearance.
“Like a.. month or two now? My friend sent him to me after the whole..” Faye trailed off, waving it off with her hand a bit. She really didn’t want to think about the night she got attacked, there were more pressing matters to think about right now.
As per usual, the Ninetales glared daggers at the Zoroark, letting the young Vulpix hide against her. The pair of foxes exchanged glares and snarls silently in hopes of not attracting Faye’s attention.
“Right…” Vincent sighed and shook his head, patting Arluin on the head, causing him to finally calm down entirely. “Well, let’s see if we can find the poacher then. Which way did she run off in?”
Just felt like giving a quick update on the RP blogs I have, it feels… relevant and might get me using some of the ones I’m not using right now again. So. Here we go.

Vincent slowly woke up, everything feeling a bit sluggish. And bright. He squeezed his eyes shut while his brain started up. It took a few moments for him to recall the previous night. He’d gotten just a little drunk at the bar… Well, maybe more than a little. He’d had fun at least, spending it with the two girls, before…
Before…
Carefully cracking open an eye, Vincent looked beside him to find Faye still fast asleep in his bed. Oh. Right. That was all coming back too. He couldn’t suppress a smirk. Vincent found himself surprisingly… relieved of all things. He only just now realized he’d been making up a lot of excuses for himself not to act on anything he might’ve been feeling. Thank Arceus for alcohol, he supposed.
Thank it for everything except hangovers anyway. He’d had worse, but it was still starting to hurt. Instead of getting up he grunted and shrank back under his covers, and sliding a little closer to Faye.
She made a sound. A soft whine followed by a bit of incoherent mumbling as Faye shifted and turned on her side. Fingers searching for the covers to pull over her face, they seemed to find his arm first, which she gripped and pulled herself closer to him. Face against his chest, the brunette curled up against him, and muttered half asleep, “Don’t you have any curtains to block out the lights…”
Vincent grunted. "I'd have to get up."
Getting up was difficult due to both his headache and the fact that Faye was now quite in the way. Not that he minded much. He started rubbing her back, keeping his eyes closed, and pulling her just a little bit closer.
Faye groaned in protest, “I’ll do it then..” Except that she didn’t move an inch for quite a few minutes, her breathing seemed to slow down once more, and seemed to have fallen asleep again. She shifted just enough for the covers to go over her head and mumbled, “What are the chances that I’m still sleeping..?"
Vincent huffed out a laugh. "Think you're dreaming?" He slid his hand down from her back and squeezed lightly. "We'd both be having the same dream then. I can get the curtains. I just need you to let go for a moment."
She reluctantly let go, curling up under the covers as he slipped out of bed to avoid the chill from the A/C and ran her hand through her slightly tangled hair. Twirling a strand between her fingers nervously, going over her head what she would say next. Or what she could say. She wasn’t sure anymore.
He groaned as he got up, his eyes burning and his head protesting. Vincent ignored it and walked over to the window, pulling the curtains shut before quickly retreating back to the bed. As soon as he was settled he put an arm around Faye and closed his eyes again. He didn't know what to say, and hoped she didn't regret what had happened.
"Thanks for everything last night," Vincent said finally after a few moments. "It was a great birthday."
“Mhm.. I’m glad you had fun..” She instinctively moved closer, biting her lip as she continued to pull and twirl at her hair in silence for sometime. “Vincent?” Faye pulled away just enough to be able to lift her head from under the covers, looking up at his face.
"Mmm?" He looked down at her and smiled. He really, really hoped she didn't regret it.
“This.. wasn’t exactly how I planned things to go when I first kissed you..”
He frowned. "No... It wasn't exactly what I had on my mind either... You don't, ah, regret it, do you? I'd understand if you did, we weren't exactly..." Vincent trailed off, deciding to wait for an answer.
“N-No!” she blurted out louder than intended, making her own head throb, “Of course not.. I don’t, um.. regret it actually.” She felt her face grow hot, and even though the room was less bright than before, she hoped it wouldn’t be noticeable.
Faye whined softly, pressing her forehead against his chest, “I’m.. nervous now, ok. I don’t know how to explain myself..”
That was all he needed to hear. "What is there to explain then? I don't regret it either, not at all." He reached up and started stroking her hair.
“I don’t, um, usually do things like these.. is the thing.” She huffed loudly, “I’m not sure if we’re on the same page here.. And I’m wondering if you’ve realized how I feel about you.”
That made Vincent frown again. “I could guess. But I’d rather you tell me.” He had a feeling where she was going with this, and he was worried about her reaction if he didn’t quite feel the same. Not because he didn’t, but more because he didn’t know.
A soft laugh escaped her, turning her head to glance up at him, “You’re never going to let me off easy in anything are you?” Faye didn’t exactly wait for an answer to her question, taking his face in her hands and pulling him into a kiss, closing her eyes and pressing her forehead against his and breathed against his lips, “I want you.. in more ways than one, and I should have told you sooner. Instead of waiting until we were both drunk enough to do anything about it.”
“You’ve made me feel things I thought I’d never feel again.. you’re on my mind so often, Vincent. And I just..” she trailed off, “I am not very good at this sort of thing it seems.”
Vincent laughed lightly and patted her head. "Its alright."
He didn't answer right away though. He didn't know how he felt. There was something there, for sure. But was it more than what he had with the other women who had come and gone?
One thing he knew: he did not want to leave Faye behind. He enjoyed their friendship and he did not want to lose that. Though sleeping with her had already complicated that. So what did he do now?
"I'm... Not sure what to say," he decided to be honest. "I don't have much in the way of friends. I haven't for a long time. Even longer since I've really thought of anyone like you are to me. I don't want to lose you. But if things are going to change, its... Going to take me some time to get used to it."
His control had faltered, and in a way that could be very damaging. He didn't like that at all, but maybe things could still be okay. He hoped.
“It’s okay,” she lied, part of her was disappointed but another had been prepared for this. In the time she had known him, she had noticed how he always seemed to keep people at arm’s length and even though Faye had noticed he seemed different around her, she didn't completely expect him to change that quickly. The brunette hummed, refusing to move unless he wanted her to, “It’s all up to you, things don’t have to change if you don’t want them to. I don’t want to lose you either. I just felt.. like I had to tell you. The alcohol in my system took things a little bit further than that though.”
“Same,” Vincent agreed with a sigh. “Well… I think it’s already changed. That just doesn’t have to be a bad thing.” He shook his head. “I don’t know, I’m too hungover for this I think,” he said with a small laugh. “Let’s just… take it as we go, I guess. Take some time. For now…”
Vincent ran his hands over her back and arm. “For now let’s just lay here and enjoy this…?”
“Right, you were drinking quite a bit before we got there weren’t you.. Seeing as I recall having convinced you to dance with me~” Goosebumps formed in her skin as he ran his fingers against her, biting her lip and resisting the urge to shudder under his touch. Faye nodded, giving him a small smile, “Maybe we should get you something for your hangover before we do, hm?”
Stepping inside after a couple of minutes, Faye shivered from the sudden chill of the A/C in Vincent’s apartment, and turned to face him as he closed the door behind him. The brunette fidgeted nervously, muttering, “Very chilly in here, and dark..”
Vincent stepped past her, and turned on a lamp, not wanting to flood the entire room with light. “I’m not used to Hoenn heat, remember?” He half laughed. “Besides, we may appreciate it…” As his voice trailed off, wrapped his arms around Faye’s waist, pulling her against him and leaning down to kiss her. “All alone now…”
She shook her head amused, she remembered, “You may have mentioned it once or twice, not entirely sure.” His next words brought back the heat that had cooled off during the walk to his place, and as Vincent pulled her closer, her breath caught on her lips for a moment, “Mhm, all alone..”
Faye pulled his face down just so she could wrap her arms around his neck, closing the distance between them to kiss him, the slight buzz in her head from the alcohol made her impatient and perhaps a bit more forward than she would have been without it.
There were all sorts of reasons Vincent had given himself to not do this. Many of which had to do with the fact that he’d really only come to meet Faye for professional reasons, to help someone be protected against certain things that the Rangers couldn’t. He’d seen it as a job, but somewhere down the line, it had turned into a friendship. And now, thanks to a decent amount of alcohol, it was progressing even further.
He definitely didn’t mind, as his hands gripped Faye tighter, pressing his lips harder against hers. He didn’t mind this at all.
She made a sound against his lips, hands sliding from his shoulders to his chest and fingers grasping at his shirt with a pull, taking a step backwards towards the the couch, “Getting tired of standing around.. you should offer me a seat..”
"By all means..." Vincent breathed, walking towards the couch and, between more kisses, helped lower Faye onto it
Once she was seated, he quickly pulled his shirt off and lowered himself onto the couch over Faye and began kissing her again.
Her fingers slid up his arm, around his neck once more and pulled him closer, her heart racing, the brunette’s kisses seemed more impatient. Faye hummed against his lips, biting softly before nuzzling his neck, shaking hands sliding down his torso with a soft whine, “Vincent..”
He had to practically force his lips away from her as she spoke. “What…?” His breathing was getting heavy, and his hands had already found themselves starting to slip under her shirt.
“Nothing..” she mumbled, and slipped her leg between his, “Just keep going.” The brunette shifted underneath him, grabbing Vincent’s face going from kissing him to biting his lips as she pressed her thigh up against him.
“Gladly,” Vincent muttered before going back to kissing her, making a small noise against her lips as her leg pressed against him. His hands slid upwards, pulling her shirt with them until he could go no further with their lips pressed together.
He pulled away reluctantly. “Lift your arms…?” The question sounded more like a statement.
His reaction brought a smirk to her face, humming like she usually did whenever something amused her, “I can do that..” Faye did more than what he asked, pulling the rest of her shirt off herself and attempted to sit up, pushing Vincent off of her.
Vincent went from pleased to confused as Faye began to push him off. Had she changed her mind? He slowly pulled himself back, a frown forming on his face.
A soft laugh escaped her once she saw the confusion in his face, quickly slipping on to his lap, Faye pressed her body close to his, and smiled, “Why are you looking so confused,Vince?~”
He shook his head. "No reason, apparently." Was all he said before kissing her again, his hands sliding up her back before working at her bra, trying to get it off.
“Need some help there?” She squirmed on his lap, using her good hand to pull off her bra and shivered, “Still chilly in here.. you should warm me up..”
Vincent now had free reign to run his hands along her back, kissing her as soon as she finished speaking. "Maybe it would be warmer in the bedroom..." He muttered after a few moments, between kisses.
Faye shuddered, fingers digging into his shoulders as he did that, “That involves walking.. not sure I want to get up from here..” The brunette breathed, slowly starting to grind into him.
"You won't have to move an inch," Vincent replied, grabbing her thighs and, after grunting a little at her movements, lifted them both off the couch.
He carried her towards the bedroom, the door left open, which would make all this much easier.
The brunette squeaked, legs around his waist and arms around his neck, hanging on tightly, “Mmm, putting all that field work to good use..~”
Vincent just grinned as he carried them both into the bedroom and kicked the door closed behind them.
Time slipped by as the trio talked and drank. It was a couple hours later when a song came on and Faye, who was practically fidgeting in her chair at this point, chimed, “Oh! We should dance!” The brunette bounced up to her feet, setting her drink on the bar as she grabbed Vincent’s hand in an effort to pull him up to his feet.
“What? Woah!” Vincent quickly placed his drink on the bar as well as Faye pulled him off his chair, doing his best not to trip as he was dragged along. “Guess I don’t have much choice…”
Jen laughed as she watched them, and raised her drink as they went. “Have fun!” She thought she’d be better off sitting and watching, smiling around her glass as she took another drink, eyes glued to the pair.
The brunette’s balance wasn’t all the better at this point and her grip on his hand would have been enough to clue him in. By now the the dancing crowd had started to gather, Faye stopped dragging him around and faced him, a burst of giggles bubbling up, “I had a feeling you would adamantly refuse~”
Vincent smirked. “Now why would I do that? Fun night, remember? You want to dance? Let’s dance!” He continued holding Faye’s hand - she was obviously holding onto him for support - and began dancing a little in place.
“This ‘all for fun’ side of you is very interesting, Vince..~” Faye stepped up closer to him, her initial burst of energy intensifying as she started to move her body to the beat with him with the smile not leaving her face, “I thought you told me once you didn’t like dancing.”
“I don’t, really,” Vincent laughed. “But I am a bit drunk and you insisted, so, here we are.”
He matched Faye’s movements, and carefully took her other hand in his. He stopped talking, and simply danced with Faye, his eyes never leaving hers.
She hummed along to the music, eyes darting away as she felt her face grow hot, a suddenly nervous laugh escaping her, “That would make two of us.. The bit drunk part, not the dancing. I enjoy dancing, it’s fun~ Not that I have been doing much of it lately, I think the doctor would chew me out… It gets very crowded in clubs sometimes so it wouldn't be the best idea. Though this place is nice..” Faye was aware she had started to ramble on, but it was easier to deal with this situation if she kept talking and stopped her mind from entertaining different thoughts, “Very nice place.. Thanks for showing it to us by the way..”
As Faye spoke, Vincent’s lips slowly curled up into a smile. “No problem. I thought it might be a nice place to sit around for awhile, drink, talk… Dance, apparently. I don’t like anything too busy myself, and there’s always a fairly small, good quality, not very well known bar around somewhere…” Even as she started looking away, Vincent couldn’t find himself able to pull his eyes away.
“Mhmm.. We should come here more often, it’s been a fun night. At least for me, hoping it was better for you, birthday boy~” The brunette smiled up at him, singing the last few words to him as the song they had gotten up to dance to ended, “Thanks for the dance~”
"It's been a great night, Faye, thank you," he smiled as she sang. "Well, you make it hard to say no to. It ended up being pretty nice anyway." He made no motion to move back to the bar, despite the fact the song was over. He was quite enjoying simply standing there with her.
The brunette wrinkled her nose and laughed, “You keep staring, is there something on my face?”
Vincent laughed softly. "No. Your face is fine."
She looked over to where Jen was sitting, biting her lip in hesitation for a few seconds before pulling his hand down just enough so that when he reacted he’d find the brunette’s lips against his. Faye pulled away quickly, face hot as she stammered, “Sorry, I, um, would you like me to buy you anything else or..”
Vincent barely had time to register what had just happened until it was over. He stood transfixed for a moment while his tipsy brain tried to catch up.
"Ah... I'm... I think I'm good for tonight. Thank you."
Back by the bar, Jen did her best to stifle the squeal bubbling out of her throat by finishing her drink.
Faye stood there, looking up at him for just a bit too long, before she turned and made her way back to the bar, glancing behind her to see if he would follow her back. She slipped back into her chair, retaking the last of her drunk and resisting the urge to fidget, instead pulling her Holocaster out of her pocket to do something with her hand, “Uh, did you want another drink Jen?”
Vincent followed as Faye walked back, sitting down with careful motions.
"No! Ah, er, I mean, no, I'm good I think!" Jen blurted. "I think it's um, getting a little late, actually?" She was looking nervously between Faye and the almost unresponsive Vincent
"Yes... Late," he said slowly. "I should take you two to your hotel. Make sure you get back safe."
Faye shot Vincent a confused look, glancing at the time on her caster, "Oh, uh, right it is pretty late.. You don't have to, our hotel is just a few minutes walk from here." Standing up faster than intended, the brunette swayed to the side, catching herself on the back of Jen's chair. Maybe she shouldn't have had that last drink or two as the effects seemed to start catching up to her.
“Woa-ho, yeah, definitely home time,” Jen said as she stood up to keep Faye upright, but not quite staying perfectly on her feet either.
“Agreed,” Vincent said as he stood up as well, putting his hands on both girls’ backs, and managing to stay more on his feet than either of them. “Come on you two, let’s get you back.” He started guiding them both towards the door, ready to catch them in case they stumbled.
It wasn't a long walk, not even ten minutes, but it felt longer to Faye. Perhaps because they walked slowly and in silence.
Once they reached their room, Jen excused herself first, wanting to take a shower before bed and leaving Faye and Vincent alone in the hallway. The brunette shifted awkwardly, leaning against the wall before speaking up, "I, uh, sorry about earlier.."
Vincent had done a lot of thinking from the bar to the hotel, so when Faye apologized he shook his head. “Don’t be,” he said as he stepped forward, slipped a hand behind her neck, and kissed her. He held it for a couple seconds before stepping away and waiting for a reaction.
Feeling the heat return to her face, and suddenly unsure if she was meant to return it this time or not, Faye froze in place. When he pulled away, the brunette stared up at him in silence, a flustered laugh escaping her once she realized he was waiting for her to react after all, "O-Okay.. I’m not sorry for that then.."
Faye stepped closer, staring up at him and hesitantly muttered, "Do it again?"
Without hesitation he pulled Faye closer to him and kissed her again, holding it for a long few seconds. When he stopped he barely pulled back, keeping his lips close to hers. “Enjoying it…?” he murmured.
She hummed in response, closing the distance to kiss him once more, "Far more than what I can describe.." The sound of footsteps down the hall made her stop, reluctantly pulling away. Faye glanced towards where the sound was coming from and huffed with mild irritation.
Vincent looked down the hall as well, realizing this wasn’t the place to do this. “Maybe we should find a better place for this…” he said softly. “My apartment isn’t far…”
It took her a few seconds to register what he was saying, and a few seconds longer for Faye to answer, “Right.. I forgot, um, if you want? To go elsewhere I mean.”
“Oh, I definitely want to…” Vincent breathed, putting a hand on Faye’s arm. “Come on, let’s go.” He started leading her back to the entrance of the hotel.
Vincent was already at the bar when he'd texted Faye where to meet him. He'd been there for about an hour in fact, as he'd come out to eat and get a few drinks for his birthday. It looked like he'd be enjoying a few more now, and was glad he didn't have to work tomorrow.
He sat at the bar, half turned away, waiting for Faye to arrive.
They had been running a bit late, her fault entirely, she misjudged the time and took too long to get ready. It took Jen to finally remind her to finish up if they wanted to get there before the place filled up too much. Thankfully, it wasn't too much of a walk from their hotel room and the pair reached their location in just a few minutes.
Vincent was quick to spot, seeing as he had chosen to sit in the least crowded area of the bar. Faye navigated across the room, keeping her hand close to her chest to avoid bumping into anyone and hurting her still sore wrist, she stepped up behind him, leaning against his shoulder and sang, “Happy birthday~ Sorry I’m late!”
Jen followed her friend up to the bar, repeating her words. "Happy birthday! This is a nice place!"
Vincent smiled at the girls and turned fully to talk to them face to face. "Don't worry about it, I've been here for awhile. Glad you made it." He looked out towards the rest of the bar and took another drink. "Yeah, it is. Found it not too long after I got here. Decent food, not too crowded often. I like it. Anyway, take a seat, get a drink. Have some fun!"
Faye wrinkled her nose in response, “Exactly why I’m sorry I took too long! Made you wait!” She took the seat right next to him, leaning forward on the bar table, hoping to get a bartender’s attention to order a drink. “Ah, I didn’t know they served food here. We already ate before coming here.. Maybe next time then!”
Once she had her drink in hand, the brunette properly sat down on her chair, an amused laugh escaping her, “Have some fun?~ One of the rare times I see you on a let’s have fun mood, Vince. How was your day anyways? I can’t believe you didn’t get a day off on your birthday!”
Jen sat next to Faye and got a drink of her own. "Yeah that must suck. Though I suppose school doesn't give you days off either. Aren't your hours a bit more flexible though?"
“Hah!” Faye spoke up after taking a sip of her drink, “I had a midterm once on the day of my birthday, so good luck with that. On the bright side, it usually means you can doubly celebrate after you’re out. Or.. cheer yourself up instead. Hopefully the first.”
Vincent smiled and laughed a little. "Good, I don't mind, and technically, yes," he answered in turn. "Things have been a little more strict with the poachers getting more bold, though," he glanced down at Faye's hand for a moment.
Jen shivered. "As long as they stay away from us..." She muttered.
The brunette momentarily glanced behind her, not wanting to dwell back on the events of a few weeks ago and unsure how to change the topic. Thankfully, Vincent seemed to get the idea as he continued.
"But I really don't mind much, I do like the job. I even helped a Skitty out of a tree, if you believe it! So yeah, today wasn't bad. Especially if I get to spend some time with you two," Vincent raised his bottle towards the girls.
“Isn’t that more of the fireman's job?” Faye laughed, shaking her head a bit, “Then again, it seems rangers do a little bit of everything, even offer private tutoring~”
Vincent took a drink and nodded. "Indeed we do! Always looking out for the safety of those around us. But now I'm off duty, so, to a night of fun!"
He moved his bottle towards the girls. Jen giggled and moved her glass towards his. Faye laughed in response, imitating the gesture with an amused grin, “No more work talk then.” She glanced at the bartender that walked by before adding, “And I’m buying the next round for you~”
So apparently the Rangers figured out my birthday. I can only assume this has to do with Jen and Faye finding out as well. Today has been interesting, so far.
[txt]I am, but it kind of defeats the purpose to try and guess beforehand. You either tell me and ruin the surprise, or you just deny everything anyway[/txt]
Faye decided to delete that last message, she was terrible at keeping secrets even if they were good surprises, still, she slumped down lower on her blankets and part of her hoping he’d try to guess.
[txt] You confuse me sometimes, you’d think I’d be used to this by now XD;
[txt] but yes! Hmmmmmmmmm, obviously we should go out!
[txt] Jen, you and me! :D but idk where should we go, is there anywhere we should go?
