About the YouTube AI age verification thing in the US:
Here is a link for another post detailing a boycott plan on the 13th of August. And if you think that it's not gonna be that bad...
IT WILL AFFECT YOU, TOO.
If you watch:
Gameplays and gaming-related videos, for example Minecraft, Undertale/Deltarune, The Sims 4, GTA/Minecraft roleplaying videos, mod videos (even if the mod is 18+), Genshin Impact and other gachas, horror games no matter the rating
Unboxing of Pokémon/Magic The Gathering/any other type of playing cards
Table Top Games, including watching TTRPG campaigns
Slime tutorials, probably (yeah, both kinds)
Essays/Commentary/Theories about IP for children, like cartoons/anime - Gravity Falls, Winx Club, Monster High, Pokémon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, My Little Pony, Miraculous Ladybug, Spongebob Squarepants, and the like
Anything about Doll Customizing, including ball-jointed dolls, Blythe dolls, OOAK projects, and anything similar
Cosplay videos, probably
Videos about collectibles like Labubu, Funko Pop, plushies, and similar
Videos and YT podcasts about Anime, like Trash Taste and Mother's Basement
VTubing, most likely, given the nature of animated avatars
And maybe, Draw With Me/Art tutorials of all kinds
There is a chance that the AI will target your account, EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT FROM THE USA, and flag it as an underage account because of your watching habits. Therefore, requiring you to provide your identification or photo to YouTube in order to continue using their services normally and not have your account deleted.
And here is the kicker: IF YOU DON'T and continue to use the service disregarding your account's newly found underage classification, THEY WILL CONTROL WHAT YOU CAN WATCH EVEN MORE. They are banking on you being too tired to fight this, and just accepting it as the new normal.
This is a blatant ploy to monitor the people and gather massive amounts of data to sell to governments, plural. If it works without too much of a hiccup in the US (and in the UK as well, since over there it's affecting every online service), other countries will follow suit.
If you are in the US, you have to fight this.
They've already come for Steam and Itch as a way of controlling self-expression and speech. This is yet another tool of censorship. And it WILL affect all of us, globally, eventually, because the internet serves a lot more people than the US and the UK, and the rules are applied mostly equally.
Share the boycott plan. Tell your friends and family about it. It will affect them, too.
Remember yall
Share the plan beyond just tumblr
Other sites should know as well
@our-trans-punk-experience
thank you comrade
punks, rebels, and cd collectors - share this information as far as you can. I know to share anything outside of tumblr is to be known, and to be known is mortifying I know but your comfort zone can stretch a little to accomodate this
people do not know enough about this. aid them. truly, we all stand together

The leading lady of Disney is turning 96 today! And what better way to celebrate than with a trip to her Funderland?
Happy Birthday, Minnie!
Hey, wasn't it also someone else's birthday today?
Nah, not that I remember...

I've been wanting to do this for SO long and I finally did it
September 3 is the birthday of my favorite blue boi from the future! Everyone's here to celebrate! Happy Birthday, Doraemon!
I also made an English cover of "Yume wo Kanaete Doraemon". Check it out, if you'd like:
Doraemon belongs to Fujiko F. Fujio, Fujiko Pro, TV Asahi, Shin-Ei Animation, CoroCoro Comics, etc.
Happy Birthday to Nobita "Noby" Nobi from Doraemon! He might not be perfect, but he's touched the hearts of millions!
Today is the anniversary of the first appearance - and thus, birthday - of a very obscure yet somewhat lovable Disney character: Billy Spook (aka Billy the Ghost), from the Nintendo GameCube game Disney's Party! Unfortunately, he's seldom been seen since, but maybe that could change one day. You never know. Anyways, Happy Birthday, Billy! Hopefully this Birthday won't be so lonely...
From 2006 to 2011, Tokyo Disneyland held a special short live show that would cool guests off during the Tokyo summer heat. The show featured catchy songs, energetic dances, and plenty of H2O gushing from Cinderella Castle onto the audience. Its name was Cool the Heat (クール・ザ・ヒート). There were many different versions of Cool the Heat, each depending on what year it took place on and which character was being given the spotlight. As such, there are three yearly for the show - the original, which ran from 2006 to 2009; the second, which ran in 2010; and the final one, which ran in 2011 - as well as four categories for which character would appear - Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and one or two “other” characters, who differed depending on each year’s version.
Before each song, Goofy would come up to basically perform some Goofy-like slapstick. In the original and 2010, he’s a plumber who’s come to fix some leaky pipes. In fact, his outfit is the same as in the small parade “Goofy’s Cool Panic”, which was running at around the same time period. In 2011, he’s a pirate in search of a hidden treasure. Either way, spurts of water come up and generally give the Goof a hard time. The water stops for a bit, and Goofy thinks it’s all over. But then, he lets out a great, big SNEEZE - and with it, a giant gush of water erupts, scaring Goofy off the stage. Today's performance of Cool the Heat is about to begin!
Mickey 2006 - 2009 “Soak it Up”
For some reason, the ‘90s and early 2000s had a knack for making Mickey rap whenever possible, and this show is no exception. Of note, this is Mickey’s only CtH show in which he’s voiced by the late Wayne Alwine - in 2010 and 2011, he’s voiced by Bret Iwan instead. This show seems to be the general favorite amongst these songs. In these videos, the audience absolutely loses their mind whenever Mickey makes a move! Even in the comments, I see the word “ikemen (イケメン)”, or “handsome”, getting thrown around. It would seem Mickey Mouse has some game after all, or something like that.
Minnie 2006 - 2009 “Summer Girl”
Minnie’s song is peppy, yet slower-paced than Mickey’s. It gives off an air of confidence, and the instrumentation definitely reminds me of sunshine. This is Minnie’s only song in which she’s the main singer - her subsequent songs lean more heavily on the backing choir.
Donald 2006 - 2010 “Pump Up”
Not to be outdone, the Duck puts on a rasta hat and dreadlocks and shakes his tail to a Caribbean beat. Unlike Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Max, who are voiced by their English VAs, Donald is voiced by his Japanese VA, the extremely talented Koichi Yamadera - although he doesn’t actually say any real words, just quacking along with the song. This show would be reused for 2010, making it the longest running single version of Cool the Heat.
The Incredibles 2006 - 2007 “Cartoon Heroes(?)”
Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl lead a dance routine through a whole medley of superhero-themed songs, including “Cartoon Heroes”, “Yesterday’s Hero”, “Macho Man”, and “I Need a Hero”. This is one of only two shows to have two lead characters, and when Goofy reappears for the ending, it features the most characters onstage for a single CtH version, at seven. For some reason, the main characters are completely silent, and this is the only show where this happens. It’s a fine show, but Mr. I does look rather ridiculous not being able to move his head.
Mickey 2010 “Make it Rain”
After running for four years, Cool the Heat was revamped in 2010. All of the main characters’ outfits share a theme (as far as I can tell) of “blue”, the color of water. Otherwise, though, they’re still different genres. Mickey dons a cowboy getup and dances to an upbeat western song - even the backup dances are wearing ten-gallon hats instead of their usual caps! This is my favorite of Mickey’s songs in CtH - the high-energy beat keeps me jumping every time, especially when the act reaches its climax! Make it rain, Mickey! Also, the song would reappear at TDL’s New Years Countdown Party 2010 - 2011.
Minnie 2010 “Summer Idol(?)”
Better watch out! She’s comin’ your way, boys! Washed up in a tidal wave! Minnie glamorously steps out in a sparkly blue dress, accompanied by a techno pop number. It’s my favorite Minnie song by far - the water-themed lyrics and pop dance moves really fit Minnie’s whole “diva” aesthetic throughout CtH. Makes me think Minnie is secretly a mermaid, though…
Stitch 2008 - 2010 “Hawaiian Medley(?)”
Skipping over Donald’s, which we already went over, the lovable blue alien gets his turn to cause a water-based ruckus. Like Donald, Stitch is also voiced by Koichi Yamadera. Unfortunately, though, this song is my least favorite by a wide margin. The whole stop-and-go nature doesn’t really help it stick in my head. There is a unique ending - a calming rendition of “Aloha 'Oe” - after the ending song, so that’s nice.
Mickey 2011 “Aye Aye, Captain Mickey”
The 2011 versions of Cool the Heat are all pirate-themed, as part of “Pirates Summer” at Tokyo Disneyland! Instead of their plumber gear, the backup dancers are clad in rugged pirate clothes. Mickey gets an energetic, hopeful song about seeking treasure. Has a sort of disco-type sound to it. I like it.
Minnie 2011 “Pirates of Love”
Get ready to set sail! The only treasure Captain Minnie’s got her eye on is romance! Not too much to say about this one. It’s just another catchy song starring Minnie. I think I like her 2010 one more, though.
Donald 2011 “Make a Splash”
My absolute number one favorite song in Cool the Heat is here! The fast-paced tempo! The energetic band! The “Splash!” all the characters say! And even Donald’s little salute at one point! It’s all enough to make me repeat the whole thing on loop and never stop! I watched this one with some friends, and they said Donald’s voice was “grating,” but I couldn’t agree less! Fun fact: many years later, this song’s instrumental would be reused for the stage show, “Jamboree Mickey: Let’s Dance!”, and I’d say that’s for good reason! There’s no stopping Captain Donald!
Goofy & Max 2011 “Pirates Splash”
After all this time of being seen only in the intro and ending, everybody’s favorite Goof finally gets a shot at the spotlight - and he’s brought his son Max along for the ride. In fact, this is the only show other than Mr. Incredible’s to feature two main characters. The song is reminiscent of A Goofy Movie’s “I2I”, and is generally my favorite “guest” song in Cool the Heat (mainly ‘cause the others aren’t that great, but hey).
Finale - “Let’s Get Wet!”
After the starring character’s individual song, every show ends with this song that unites the audience and gets them ready for a huge, show-stopping ending. Halfway through, Goofy comes back onto the scene (if he wasn’t present for the previous song), and all the characters and dancers put their all into one last splash! And let me just say, it’s extremely satisfying to hear everyone in the audience clap to the beat!
All in all, Cool the Heat was a fantastic series of shows, and I really wish they’d bring it back someday. The cast members really seemed to be having a blast performing, especially when they decided to go off-script and get a bit chaotic. (Goofy x Minnie, anyone?)
Also, a huge shout-out to Rick McKee, who was arranger/programmer for these songs (at least, the 2011 ones). Without these fantastic tunes, Cool the Heat simply wouldn’t be the same, so thanks a million, man!
