baby jades & baby mother of thousands still seem to be doing well! i also planted two kalanchoe cuttings the other day
all done!!! ended up potting a 3rd baby that didn’t break off with any roots bc i wanna see if it still survives. i’ll also be watering all these with distilled water now, since the water at our new place is very hard
i am finally going to repot & propagate the peace lily today…….can’t procrastinate anymore 😤 stay tuned
jade and kalanchoe updates! the jade’s new growth is starting to look really nice! and i think it must be growing new roots since it is still looking pretty healthy, not getting squishy or crispy, etc.
and the kalanchoe has new growth at the nodes now that i’ve chopped off the top! very excited to hopefully get it to a thicker bushy shape (my parent kalanchoe plant is way too leggy lol)
both my potted episcias have been looking pretty good! the one in the pebble tray has at least 2 flower buds and the newer foliage is a really nice color :) not sure if anything can be done about the older less colorful leaves, but oh well.
the one on the bottom right i still need a pebble tray for (episcias need humidity to flower!), but at least it’s still growing! i put it in the bathroom to give it some more humidity in the meantime
the easter cacti have been putting out a lot of new growth since their flowering period ended, and the episcia cutting’s second flower is still blooming beautifully :) but i’m excited for it to stop blooming so i can pot it!
my dad’s baby mango tree is growing a new leaf! :)
been looking at some different haworthia species & i think my new haworthia may actually be H. retusa rather than H. cuspidata 🤔
iirc H. cuspidata might actually be a hybrid between H. retusa & some other haworthia species, so they must be very similar/very closely related either way
my succulent selection was honestly a jackpot bc i noticed i’ve got this extra little guy (?? i’ve seen them before but idk what they’re called) in with my H. retusa, and also the mother-of-thousands plantlet i found in one of the pots is already rooting!! really hoping these two make it :)
(the white fuzz on the mother-of-thousands is the rootlet i think! might be moldy but i’ve had baby plants with moldy roots before and they usually turn out fine. now that the roots are there i don’t need to keep the container so moist, so hopefully the mold will just go away after a while)
here is a general jade plantlet update! the 3rd leaf (far left) finally has shot up babies! noticed this morning it actually has at least 3 plantlets growing now :)
discovered a pic of my little barrel cactus from when i first got it + realized i’ve slowly let it shrivel up over the years i’m so embarrassed 😬😔.…will be increasing its water intake this growing season + hopefully it will start looking better soon lol
noticed some extra leaves sitting around in one of my new plant’s pots, so i’m putting them in the soil with my jade plantlets on the off chance they will actually take root. stay tuned :)
decided to get myself some presents after graduating :) Sempervivum arachnoideum, some type of haworthia (i think Haworthia cuspidata), and some type of echeveria—Echeveria lilacina maybe
edit: pretty sure the haworthia is actually H. retusa
my mom’s very sad overgrown peace lily. im going to hopefully repot it sometime next week and also remove a bunch of the pups growing out of it + give them their own pots :)
chopped off the top of my newer kalanchoe plant, hoping it will branch out
repotted my jade plant because it was falling over + a lot of roots were dying…is now in a pot with drainage and i put it deeper in the dirt so it has more stem room for root growth, hopefully it does well
my ficus pumila is starting to show some variegation again! might prune some of the non-variegated growth, or all of it. haven’t decided yet
