- in s1 he protected coran which resulted in him getting seriously injured, even when he barely knew the guy
- he saved a mermaid civilisation
- he pushed allura out of the way in order to protect her from very serious injury + death
- he put aside his own personal struggles and insecurity to support keith as the black paladin and cope with the loss of shiro
- he helped kuron despite him yelling and berating lance
- he is the only one in voltron that can transform his bayard into 3 different forms
- in a very high pressure situation, he was able to free slav in time using his bayard despite being very far away and it being an incredibly difficult shot
- constantly supports his team members and lifts their spirits

- trains alone to perfect his skills with his bayard to be of use in battle
- tried to bodily shield laika to protect them after having known them for only a few minutes

- routinely passes up on opportunities to obtain validation and glory for the benefit of others
- was willing to step down as a paladin altogether to give his teammates space and let them do their thing
- is frequently the first to reach out to people in need, even if he isn’t sure he can trust them
- is a seventeen year old kid who just wants to go back home but stays in space and constantly endangers himself for the good of the universe, like an actual damn hero
