Tw: mentions of blood and injury, vomit
I've been super MIA. Busy with things lately and decided to just go to this event my mate wanted me to +1 with her the other day for a wind down.
Everything is going smoothly till i injured myself. It was like a toe stubbing but on steroids since someone slammed their chair onto my foot but I digress.
It was a pretty bad cut and I started to bleed, right then my stomach instantly turned. The adrenaline hit really hard it had made me woozy and nauseous almost instantly, and I turned around and vomited on the ground without much warning to anyone else or myself lol. It was two big waves, a smaller one and some dribbles and ended up on the white (i almost cried in the moment) marquee back too. Anyways, I thought it stopped there.
Or so I thought, I puked twice more after that. The second time, was right after I got my stitches done (I would describe but you can guess how bad it was from this so I spare the details). I have no idea why I vomited I guess I was just still not feeling good and in fight or flight from everything that happened. I puked in the cardboard bowl given and filled it up pretty quick, at this point I think I've puked whatever was backlogged in my system from the night before or something like that it seems. It was still food, and kept coming up after each gag or retch. I used up one bowl, and my friend helped me catch the rest little bit in a paper towel as we were waiting for more sick bowls.
The nurse was super nice when I was vomiting, she held me close to her. i was high key panicked cause of my emetophobia so she kept saying stuff like dont worry its coming out now, you gotta let it out of your system, better out than in etc (top tier lines 😵💫)
Then came the third time, ironically it was due to the IV being too fast since I was getting a transfusion cause your girl is besties with permanent low iron and anemia. Funnily, anti nausea was in the IV too but it didn't really help I got dizzy and nauseous from it being pumped in my body so fast.
Weren't really any sick bowls available so had to use the bathroom. My friend was with me and she said "gosh, I don't know how you still got something in you to throw up" (another ravishing line 😵💫) I was miserable, it was primarily the sips of water I had been forced to have and bile at this point I think my stomach was relatively empty so this was harder coming up. My stomach kept throwing a fit, I kept heaving, the vomit was kinda foamy and bile looking, and it went up my nose a lot. And just looking at the IV stand next to me would send me into another fit of retching and gagging.
I spent the night hugging a sickbowl till I got home and knocked out and lost my voice the next morning from the monstrosity.
Moral of the story: sharing because vomiting from injury is very underrated. Ty all for listening.
