okay thinking about that season 1 episode where elle has bangs for literally 1 scene. do we think she was wearing clip ons or that she always intentionally pins them back?? does she like,,, just wear clip ons her days off?? i love them personally, i wish she’d kept them longer

10000% convinced it was a clip on, it was a different shade of brown to the rest of her hair 😭 but she made it work!!!! i think she was trying it out and the rest of the team politely did not comment

i find really interesting how elle was introduced as the new girl with a big dream who is really smart but also impatient and struggles to fit in, she is the first female profiler we meet in the show, but Because she has to muster a confident demeanor because of her job, the fandom has completely lost the plot on her and created a version of her that doesnt exist.

i said she had to muster a confident demeanor because elle is Not confident per se, elle is mostly anxious and insecure, she wants to make a good impression, it’s clear in the beginning, she feels like she has to prove herself over and over, she wants people to perceive her as capable, her ability to be trusted so she puts this facade on and overcompensates. I’d add she also has to mask because she’s neurodivergent. (which to me is canon since lola said she has add and even when you’re acting it’s the way your brain works and you can’t turn it off so yeah)

Elle's change in fashion from S1-S2 is so interesting to me. I mean, obviously her haircut, but also her clothes.

She doesn't wear low cut stuff anymore to hide the bullet wound, but she also dresses a lot more formal than before. A lot more collared shirts. When thinking back to S1, how she dressed in extreme aggressor was similar to how she dressed later in the show because she was more comfortable with the people at the Seattle field office. When she joins the team in compulsion, she wears a suit, because she doesn't really know the team well and wants to prove herself worthy.

Coming back in S2, she's coming back from her 3-4 month hiatus. They've kept solving cases without her at this time, so she feels disconnected. She isn't a part of their team anymore, at least in her mind (js going off "The Boogeyman" idk).

this year there are two characters who i’ve cried about multiple times and those characters are elle greenaway and evan buckley and i don’t really wanna unpack that

it pisses me off that elle of all the life of a showgirl is being edited to CANCELLED! and not to eldest daughter, what is with people and their inability to read a character behind a nonsense stereotype that i promise if you think about it for more than five seconds you realize how stupid it is.

i’m aware my interpretation of elle is different than most but cmon! you’re under spells people!

it’s the same people who think she went after lee with the intention of killing him even though their conversation established that she didn’t plan to and the people who think she should’ve became a vigilante. a lot of the general audience or even just people who didn’t like her character didn’t really look past the way she dressed or how she acted around the team. they completely ignore how she was with victims

i’ve always seen elle as someone who put on a front, especially given her profession and how women were expected to act. she’s never acted better than anyone, she was eager to learn and fit in. she put any other wants on the back burner, she’s completely the type of person to push down or deny her desires because she doesn’t see herself being able to have them

evan buckley seeing the old retired fireman who grew apart from his team and had nothing left and seeing his future and feeling like that could be him and inserting himself into that man’s life and trying to fix it to prove to himself and everyone else that that wouldn’t happen to him :(

okay the reason i don’t like alex karev is because 1) his character development is subpar at best (he literally just becomes a normal person) and 2) even in later seasons he is so quick to make other people hurt when he’s hurting and 3) the way he talks about women, i don’t like how he calls all his exes crazy (esp lexi who was dealing with ptsd after the shooting)
