Please contribute and share. My friend's dad was unlawfully kidnapped by 🧊 as he was having breakfast with his mother. He has four children, including a 4 year old. The other children are adults. Without him, his family is financially and emotionally in turmoil. The funds will be used for legal fees and supporting the family ‘s day to day needs. He is being sent out of the U.S. without any due process. His family wasn’t able to see him at the detention center before he was sent away. This just happened on june 19th so more details are yet to come. One $ goes a long way.

i need you to understand that when i talk about medical fatphobia (or fatphobia in general) i am especially talking about the fattest person you could ever fucking imagine. yes i am also talking about small fat people and “chubby” people. but i am ESPECIALLY talking about people who are so fat they can’t take care of themselves, who can’t walk, who can’t take care of hygiene independently, who do nothing but sit/lie down all day and eat.

Human mental bandwidth is finite. You’ve probably experienced this before (though maybe not in those terms): When you’re lost in concentration trying to solve a problem like a broken computer, you’re more likely to neglect other tasks, things like remembering to take the dog for a walk, or picking your kid up from school. This is why people who use cell phones behind the wheel actually perform worse as drivers. It’s why air traffic controllers focused on averting a mid-air collision are less likely to pay attention to other planes in the sky.

We only have so much cognitive capacity to spread around. It’s a scarce resource.

This understanding of the brain’s bandwidth could fundamentally change the way we think about poverty. Researchers publishing some groundbreaking findings today in the journal Science have concluded that poverty imposes such a massive cognitive load on the poor that they have little bandwidth left over to do many of the things that might lift them out of poverty – like go to night school, or search for a new job, or even remember to pay bills on time.

The finding further undercuts the theory that poor people, through inherent weakness, are responsible for their own poverty – or that they ought to be able to lift themselves out of it with enough effort. This research suggests that the reality of poverty actually makes it harder to execute fundamental life skills. Being poor means, as the authors write, “coping with not just a shortfall of money, but also with a concurrent shortfall of cognitive resources.”In a series of experiments run by researchers at Princeton, Harvard, and the University of Warwick, low-income people who were primed to think about financial problems performed poorly on a series of cognition tests, saddled with a mental load that was the equivalent of losing an entire night’s sleep. Put another way, the condition of poverty imposed a mental burden akin to losing 13 IQ points, or comparable to the cognitive difference that’s been observed between chronic alcoholics and normal adults.

Today I wanted to talk about Kyle Bassinga. Kyle was a 21 year old man from Georgia, whose family described him as "a kind, thoughtful, and smart young man who loved nature, music, and the people around him". Kyle Bassinga was killed on February 18th 2026, just ten days after his birthday. He was found hanging from a tree in a park.

The police ruled it a suicide. The family and local community demanded an investigation. The police refused to change their ruling.

I know this website it too white for this to really go anywhere, but an understanding of the present reality of white supremacy in the United States is just so important to transfeminism here. Lynchings never stopped, white supremacy never went away, you just stopped looking.

Save two disabled trans women from losing their car

i hate to keep asking but we need help, we have to leave the place we are living now asap and still need to pay for our car every month. i am constantly sick and in pain and on edge just about everday, my girlfriend @puppygirlclick still hasnt received necessary care after a hernia surgery thats left her with immense pain in her abdomen. things have only gotten worse, the people we live with abuse us and get more violent by the day on top of using our car to go out whenever and where ever they want without paying a single cent on it knowing that we have no income and have to beg for anything we get. we'll most likely end up evicted, with nowhere to go and no transportation if the car note isn't paid for while they fix one of the vehicles in the driveway that they've neglected for months on end while using our car because we're powerless.

all the promises that have been made to us have not been kept, we were supposed to use this home as a place to get back on our feet but we have no chance to, especially not at this point. the situation forced upon us is one we cannot escape alone

we're desperate, we need $280 for our car note every month now (the company has begun charging an additional fee on debit card payments) and more, if we will have any hope of escaping this situation and we've only received 1 donation in the past few weeks. we're also looking for a place to move, if u or anyone u know might be able to help with that, please reach out my dms are open and so are my girlfriend's. thank you for reading this and anything helps
