End for the Polo Tower
After almost 20 years of being unused (other than as telecommunications mast), the Polo Tower will finally be demolished this month.

The Polo Tower started life at the Pleasure Beach in the 70s where it was known as the Space Tower. When work began on the Big One in 1993 the ride was moved to Frontierland in Morecambe where it has stood ever since.

Frontierland closed for good in 2000 and since then all the rides have either been demolished or sold on. However, the Polo Tower has still remained ever since.

Work will begin on the demolition this month, which will last approximately 3-4 weeks. Once complete, there are plans to turn the land into a new retail park.
