Health & Stuff
Hey there lovelies, it’s been a while...Just wanted to pop in and say I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to my stories and such, the 8 months have been an on and off struggle with my health - no pregnancies I assure you. I’m just coming back to let ya know what’s going on and how I’ve been doing.
****Mental and physical health talk coming up***
In 2020 the pandemic hit us all hard, we all have experienced something; for my family and I, we moved from Colorado to Michigan in October because of said pandemic - couldn’t see anybody, getting used to the climates again, and the financial stuff of the move it was tough, ya know all that good ole stuff we all deal with.
Fast forward to January when I was visiting my sister: Out of nowhere I started feeling abnormal nothing like I ever felt before, I woke my sister up and told her to take me to the hospital because I felt like I was slowly dying. I couldn’t even get my boots on before I was falling to the ground (my sister ran and caught me before i did) I could move, couldn’t talk my body wouldn’t cooperate with me, and I uncontrollably started crying. I couldn’t even open my mouth to tell my sister what I was feeling. I went to the hospital they did test and and such and basically told me I was having a panic attack (mind you I just woke up at 8am- it was now 10am).
Lets fast forward a few more days once again this episode happened again, I was being dropped of at my house from visiting my dad.
Many exams were taken, EEG, CAT Scan, MRI, and a series of neurology appointments...they all said the same thing - everything is normal, change your diet, drink more water. So all of that was a bust and still I knew nothing.
Finally I had a primary care appointment and what do you know? She told me what was going on...PTSD accompanied with Pseudoseizures!
I was like what the actual Fluff? How? She explained that because of the mental/emotional /sexual abuse I had endured went unchecked for so long, my way of coping with all of it was no longer working. I honestly about cried there- I thought I was doing good. What’s wrong with me!
So for my own mental health I was given medication, Lexapro, and assigned to a therapist.
Ive been on my medication and have been seeing my therapist since July and I cannot begin to explain how much it has helped me even in this short amount of time. Now obviously I havent gone into too much details just because some of it is more that I care to write, which is what it is, ya know?
I know this is a long post and I’m sorry but I just want people to realize that it’s okay to get help and it’s okay to not be “okay” because eventually with the right help and understanding you can be okay.
unfortunately I did have another on of these seizure like episodes the 5th of september so I’ve been out of sorts lately, and worried about them getting worse, but I have appointments schedule for it so I think things with start getting sorted out again, only time will tell.
Overall Im doing good, just dealing with a lot all at once, but I know everything will work out. Take care lovelies and Hopefully I can get back to writing soon!
