Lost Boys (Musical edition) AU
I've always been a fan of the Lost Boys and have been dragged into the musical rabbit hole. I have seen so many headcanons, ideas, and fanfics. I decided to be brave and no longer lurk. Here are some AU and crossover ideas that have been running amok in my mind for a long while. Do with these as you will....
Half-Vampire Role Reversal: Michael and Star's roles are reversed. Michael is the half-vampire who has been with the lost boys for weeks and Star is the human newcomer to Santa Carla who drinks the vampire blood wine. Nothing is too different plot-wise except having a possible exploration of Michael's dynamics with David and the boys, avoiding Sam and Lucy, and Star taking up the role as the hero and interacting with the Frog brothers. Michael is more of a sad boy in this AU as he wants to keep his family and the pretty girl he kind of likes safe while having a complicated relationship with David who understands him yet wants him to embrace his inner monster.
WW2 Michael: Michael Emerson fought in WW2 for a few years and is just . . . traumatized. He may have been forced by his father to enlist when he was not even 18 yet. Once the war is finally over, Michael is hitch-hiking up back home as he deals with PTSD and a vampire stalker in the form of David who is kind of projecting too hard and being akin to a stray cat leaving a trail gifts in the forms of dead birds and mice, but they're human. Inspired by Ali Louis Bourzgui's personal headcanons of David's past and characterization.
Fright Night AU: Very different from the typical plot.... Max and David (and maybe the other boys too) move to Phoenix instead of the Emersons leaving for Santa Carla. Both David and Max play the roles of Jerry Dandridge on a variety of levels, but David does more of the dirty work. Michael, Sam, and the Frog brothers are Charley Brewster with Michael actively protecting his family and acquaintances upon finding out, yes, vampires are real and two of them are your new neighbors. Follows more of the 2011 Fright Night with elements of the original 1985 film. Plus, I like David just being an obsessive, possessive, evil weirdo who becomes really fond of Michael.
Those are my ideas. I have a few more if this very first post does well and people are interested.
