Okay so like we know the cannon is that Caleb gives birth on or around Halloween, but also it popped into my head the idea of him giving birth right before Christmas. So he's big preggo for Halloween but not popping yet, so he can really have fun for his Halloween party instead of going into labor that day, but then we also get to see him BIG preggo prepping for xmas and wearing some sort of goth ugly xmas sweater with a big round belly, looking all grumpy. Giving birth really soon before xmas day so that 1. It would be cute and wholesome for them to spend the holiday with their newborn and 2. Maybe he goes into labor on the day of their friends' big party (just like how my friends and I do christmas stuff the week of but not on the actual holiday.)
Like come onnnn. Imagine the photos!! Imagine Caleb trying to help decorate, and everyone telling him to rest, he's too pregnant. Imagine them making a tiny stocking for the baby! Or 7-8 month pregnant Caleb on Halloween being jealous he can't drink and party like everyone else? Just watching all the other guests get fucked up. Imagine Caleb hiding the fact he went into labor at the friends-mas party, face getting all red, and blaming it on being hot from the sweater? Or even, if I'm being indulgent, him trying really hard to push the baby out before the clock hits midnight, so that his baby doesn't have to share a birthday with xmas eve? Just struggling and straining and trying too hard, and Aiden telling him to slow down, relax, it's okay?
Ughhh if I ever make some sort of webcomic out of this, I wouldn't be able to choose when it happens. I just love coming up with all the different scenarios.
I've been super inactive on here due to a combination of weird interactions on here, and tumblr removing my art and pfp, which pissed me off. Attempted to set up bsky but that's annoying to make a whole new account and start over somewhere else. Been slowly coming back to here though. All I want is to express myself.
Here is a page of my characters!! The hearts represent that they're in a relationship; the bottom three are a throuple (new development) and obviously Caleb and Aiden are partners.
I am totally down to answer questions about them, and you will see everyone more soon :) I should do a colored version.
Drawing them all out like this made me realize how some of their interests go together, like I need to draw Aiden and Maiya rollerskating stat. Caleb wouldn't be caught dead doing that lol. If they were all out at a park or something, Morgen would be taking pics of them and sketching, Jax would be skateboarding or rollerblading with them, and Caleb would be sitting down under a sun umbrella with headphones on, probably drawing too, or just watching.
CW for brief mentions of a few dark things, including alcohol, smoking, past self-harm, body issues, food/eating issues.

It's been months, and again he finds himself staring in the mirror at someone who is changing before his eves faster than he can keep up. Delicate fingers trace his taut belly, and he wonders how he's made such a comfy, sustainable home for his child in such a short amount of time.
Everything had to change. From the very second he saw those two lines, he knew he'd have to fundamentally change. No more substances, no more neglecting himself. He'd have to eat, like actually eat. He was so upset he was beside himself, but he was never angry at the baby. The first spark of gentleness for himself started in that moment. He cried so hard, and anxiety caused him to claw at his own skin that night, but he knew, in his subconscious mind, that tomorrow would be different.
He'd spent years, I mean years, hating his body. He'd spent years building himself into the man he is. And Aiden was always the more responsible one; the one who touched Caleb's body gently and not angrily. He had shielded young Caleb from the hate that clawed at him from students, teachers, family. Caleb hadn't realized that throughout all this time, he never gave himself that same respect. He pours love into Aiden, but treats himself the way he had been treated growing up.
He remembers crying on the floor that night, overwhelmed with emotions too numerous to place. His sculpturesque body that he'd spent so long making himself feel comfortable in. His independence, his long-awaited freedom from ridicule. His masculinity, his ability to hide. The disbelief. The anxiety. The change, the inumerable things that wouldn't be the same. The shame, for reasons he didn't know. The pain he'd have to go through. The fear of the love he'd have to show himself; it was something he'd been putting off for far too long.
He remembers Aiden wrapping him up in his big, safe arms, rubbing his back as he sobbed. The fledgling smile Aiden was attempting to hide. The excitement creeping up on his cheeks. Everything then overtaken by the concern he was showing for his partner.
He remembers two mornings later, when he could finally get out of bed for more than a moment. Every half-finished bottle was to be tossed. Every vape, and his entire stash of weed was put away to be given to their friend. The tools he had used to give harm to himself were bidden forever goodbye. Cycles were to be broken—backbreaking work.
He couldn't acknowledge fully the situation at hand. It took nearly two months to process. He wouldn't utter the word "baby" or "pregnant" until then. By then he was halfway through. Their three friends had to practically pry the information from his lips. They thought he was ill. Aiden was sworn to secrecy. Though, Caleb noticed the incredibly relieved expression on his face when their friends were finally told.
They celebrated. And Caleb cried, for the first time, happy tears. He let his best friends hug him for the first time in two months. He felt he'd been missing a piece of his heart entirely. He let them in, felt his twenty-something week bump press against his platonic soulmates, and he celebrated. He realized, the most important thing is this family he is creating. His found family, and the one growing inside him. He didn't want to ever let go.
He looks in the mirror. His body has softened, his demeanor is changed. He is himself, and yet it seems that his newfound caring has taken from him his permanent scowl. What he used to wear as a protective shield, a badge of what he'd been through, is now discarded with the bottles.
He is a long way from self-assured, and he isn't so changed he's a robot or a shell of himself. He's Caleb, with added pages to his story. Not a new author, but instead a plot twist that changed the trajectory in a big way.
It's almost time, he can feel it in the way his hips hurt with the dropping weight. His gait is ever widening. His center of gravity is hard to manage. He cradles his globe of a belly, and views in the mirror the bruises left by the incessant kicks. He's running out of space to grow.
He's scared.
He sees in the mirror someone who is fearful, and doesn't have to hide it or push it down. He has his soulmates to protect and love him, and walk him through it. They will surround him when it's time, his four beloved people, and make it all okay. He can labor safely in their arms, scream and cry and curse. He will push his baby into the waiting hands of his lover, propped up and coached by his best friends.
He sees someone who can accept help. Reliance doesn't make him weak. He's strong enough to ask, to need, to want shamelessly.
He's looking at himself a handful of months older, having changed more than he ever had in his twenty- something years. He thought becoming 18 would change him. He thought transitioning would be his biggest metamorphosis. But transitioning only made him the person he already had been all this time. It was in the cards, it was inevitable.
This is something else entirely.
"Hey, love."
"Hey, Aiden."
Caleb is still viewing himself, now with his lover pressed up behind him, big, strong arms wrapped around his distended middle. Safe. Loved.
"Wanna come have dinner with me?" Aiden asks, tracing the curve of his favorite baby bump gently with his hand. Caleb smiles. His teeth are showing a little bit.
"In a moment."
"I love you."
"I love you, too."

Okay it got sappy. I love these characters with my whole heart. They are me, I am them. It is as if both main characters are differing facets of myself. I've had these two since I was fourteen. I'm like 27 now. They grew up with me. I've aged them up over the years, learned to be less cruel to these people that I've chosen to represent myself. They get a happy ending. As dark as things can get in this story, they always have a happy ending now.
It got sappier.

Caleb has semi-accepted the fact he's pregnant, but that doesn't mean he has to accept all the changes that are happening!
Aiden thinks he's adorable and sexy regardless. And he will squeal when he sees Caleb in the only black shirt and pair of shorts Aiden owns, all small in his clothes except for the big belly (omg I should draw that)
This actually *just* happened to a friend of mine, and has happened to me before, it turbo sucks. I adore seeing your art though, you capture masculine pregnancy and birth so well and intensely, and I hope you don't stop sharing your art.

why is the mpreg tag so clogged with ai… i thought it was a joke i thought we were actually making weird unconventional art again why are you generating this man instead of lovingly rendering him pregnant by HAND. this is ridiculous!!! i’ll have to fix this myself
