Frequently Asked Questions
> Can I import from Simply Plural/PluralKit?
Yes! You can download an export as a .json file. After that, convert the file using our website, preferably on desktop as there’s some known issues with doing this on mobile. After you download your converted file, you should be able to import it into PluralLog.
> Can I share my data with friends?
Yes! You have the option to share your data using a companion app, PluralLog Friend. This is currently available on android and will be available on iOS as well in the near future.
> What is federation?

> How do I set up a federated server?
(Explanation to be added soon!)
> Can I suggest a feature / Is x going to be implemented?
You are welcome to send in your feature requests! We do receive a high volume of these, and requesting a feature does not guarantee it’ll be implemented, but we do keep in mind which are most highly requested.
> What is your stance on AI/LLM usage?
We have discussed this at length in a post you can find here.
> What is your stance on syscourse?
We will not be engaging with syscourse of any kind, nor will we be doing background checks on users to find their stances prior to answering asks. This does not mean we align ourselves with any given user’s stance or speech.
Known bugs:
Member sorting being numeric instead of phonetic
Issues with avatars when importing data
Inability to add subsystem members to folders without the “parent” member
Missing member avatars after updating
Co-fronters not saying logged
Archived members showing on switch tab
“Hidden” journal entries viewable on recent entries
Hey, so after importing from SP, it seems most of our front history is just. Gone. Is this intended ?
We have multiple years with of history and only like, a few months of it (maybe not even that) imported over
Did you use the converter prior to importing?
If so, could you give us more info, such as your device type, and the version of PluralLog you’re using? You can reach out again here or by email, [email protected].
Call me stupid but how do I switch out alters. I don’t understand it
You can either log a new switch, which will end the previous switch, or you can select an active switch from the switch history and edit the duration, including adding an end date and time.
HIIHII sorry if this was asked already but how do you add alters into folders?
Hello!
From the members page, you can select the folder icon in the top right. Once a folder has been created you can edit it. You should then see an option to add alters to the folder.
I was testing the app and have two questions. I didn’t see these in the FAQ, so I hope it’s alright to ask
First, I have archived a few inactive members and was wondering where I could see them
Second, I accidentally set someone to fronting who is inactive (clicked the wrong icon) and was wondering if there’s a way to remove a front entry
1 - You can enable their inclusion in the members’ list with the icon to the left of the add member icon. When the arrow is pointed down, achieved members are hidden. When blue and pointing up, they are included. There isn’t a way to view archived members separately from active members at this time.
2 - You can adjust or delete switches by editing them in the front history, at the bottom of the switch page. Tapping on a past or active switch should give you options to adjust the date/time, add or remove members, or delete the entry entirely!
Any chance we could get a list of accepted/possible future features and rejected features? That way people know what’s already been requested?
This would be, challenging. At the time of writing this we have shy of 200 asks backlogged, most of them being feature requests. We receive more each day. There’s too many for me to answer as an individual (our developer also answers asks! I’m just the team member maintaining the blog most days), but I do read every ask and keep a log of requests, even if I can’t provide an immediate response to each one.
There isn’t a simple accept/deny process with feature requests. I relay requests to our developer, but many factors go into what features are actually implemented and how quickly. Things like accessibility features take priority. Beyond that it’s often a matter of request popularity, ease of implementation, etc. Meaning, just because a feature doesn’t make the cut for the next version, doesn’t mean it’s been “rejected” or will never be a thing! It might just take more time or work, or not be of high priority for various reasons.
We also don’t want to discourage duplicate feature requests, as they give us an idea of how many people are interested in certain features. It’s useful information to have.
I’d feel iffy about providing a list for these reasons. We appreciate the interest though, and hope you find this explanation helpful!
Bug report for the chat feature, on Android 16 on a moto g 2025: In a chatroom with a lot of messages, the chat window will not correctly scroll for longer, multiline messages. Instead, it will only show the top of the message, and you'll have to scroll to see the rest of the message. This mostly happens when the same headmate is sending multiple messages in succession. We can email a screenshot if desired.
A screenshot would be appreciated! You can send it to [email protected].
will there be more markdown support/features in the future? as of now, I cannot change the size of images with markdown (as in adding the #50x50 to the end of an embed will not do anything), and id really like to be able to embed images in things like custom fields. also, some paragraph spacing / line breaks are not properly tracked? i would also really love it if custom fields could be bigger/displayed in more of a box format if that makes sense!
love your app, sorry this was all over the place!
Line breaks should work with a blank space between the lines of text.
I’ll note image resizing as a feature request, as well as the box format you’re describing. I imagine the first request is more likely with our current UI, but it’ll be discussed regardless!
Hello! I was wondering if there is a feature on the app that allows me to see when an alter fronted last? For example, we have some that only come out a couple times a year and it's nice to know when the last time was.
This is not currently a feature, but I can note it as a request!
hi! i’ve got a question, sorry if you’ve answered already but tumblr’s blog search is a little screwy. is there a way to switch out that i’m missing, or is it something that could be added in the future? i don’t like time that i’m sleeping being counted toward our front percentages, but i don’t see an immediate workaround beyond retroactive deletion. thank you, have a great week!
If you go to edit the active switch you can set an end day and time. The options should default to the present moment.
Hi, I wanted to ask: Will there be an option to add photos like a section or photo gallery, kinda like a moodboard?
One of us wanted a moodboard option where we can go put pictures of what we all like under our names in the gallery thing, sort of like a visual representation of what that member is and what they like so we can better understand them through photos just by looking at them.
I sometimes have trouble just trying to get to know what someone likes just by words, so a visual approach would be nice.
How I imagine it is a gallery section with our names listed underneath, then just by clicking a name, we can see the member’s gallery or moodboard. I think it’s easier to have this inside the app so everything is all in one place without losing anything.
Also I guess my main request would be the ability to put in more pictures easily?
That’s all I’m gonna ask for today. I know this isn’t a high priority; it’s just a little something to add for convenience and a visual tool for us. We love using your app.
A gallery feature is planned for the next version! I can’t guarantee it’ll look exactly like what you’ve described, but it should still serve the same function on member profiles. Let us know what you think when you get access!
what can i do if i cant get my simply plural data but need to export my members?
If you can’t access your SP data to export it, I’d reach out to Apparyllis, if their team is still responding to community concerns (unsure what the status of that is). There’s not much we can do as we have no control over SP.
I forgot to log myself on plural log when I started fronting. I see there is an option to change the day but I do not see an option to change the time of when you started fronting. As well as I do not see the ability to add a front after the fact of it happening. We used this a lot on simply plural since at times we forget or are on the go when we switch and can’t log it immediately. Is there something I’m missing and if not are these features that could possibly be added?
An option to edit the time appears after you confirm the date.
You can log past switches as well by logging a new switch then editing the start date/time.
