My name is Raquel! Call me Rocky. I’m in Minot, North Dakota! I start job corps 1/28/20. I’m a teen mom who is at job corps to better my life for my daughters. I’ll see them, sadly, biweekly on weekends. But I’ll be posting about job corps in general, daily happenings, MY life in job corps, and pictures!

This is Burdick job corps in North Dakota!

This is actually the girls dorm. In the pictures are the front of the dorm, as soon as you walk in, and then my room!

Girls have bathrooms in their rooms, along with showers with a bathtub. Sorry guys, you don’t have bathrooms in your rooms, and you definitely don’t have a bathtub.

I was recently accepted back into burdick job corps! Yes, back. I previously attended job corps in the beginning of 2018.

Job corps is a free program that provides dorms, meals, and activities, again, for FREE, to 16-24 year olds while simultaneously giving us an education (high school or GED) and learning a trade!

But here’s my story. I attended burdick job corps in February of 2018, in April of 2018, I found out I was pregnant in job corps. Job corps did everything in their power to help me. But I couldn’t hack it. I wasn’t mature and well enough to handle pregnancy and school at once. So I left in July of 2018.

But this time I’m ready, I’m ready to take this FREE opportunity and run with it.

While I’m at this center, I’ll be posting events, pictures, and stories! If anyone has any questions, I’ll be happy to answer them.
