Frieren is really out here saying she didn't have much emotion. But in every episode the first person pops up in her head is Himmel, then others. I would argue that Frieren actually loved Himmel. But it's probably not the same way as a human did since she's lived 1000++ years and when someone has been living that long there needs to be a self mechanism that redirects all that grief into something more meaningful. For her she probably needs to find a hobby that keeps her absorbed for a long period of time.

Love this anime so much. I just love watching Frieren navigate through her almost eternity years of life with people that are so close to her heart.

Trick is, forbidden magic will be heavily used and I think Coco, as a symbol of Hope, will take up this role and turn forbidden magic into something that's necessary when everything else failed. Idk if I am right, but I think compared to the rest of the people in the show, Coco has talent for forbidden magic.

Anyway I am not the manga reader. But just a projection for the storyline. Like you know how Harry Potter is. Something like that.

Coco's last conversation with her mother strikes me as something very significant to point out why Coco is very much fascinated with magic. Now on top of Olruggio and Qifrey's tragedy, plot twists maybe, how Coco's father is related to brimmed hat, and that's why Coco was targeted at the first place. I mean they could have chosen anyone to plant the seed, but they chose Coco for a reason. Is this something being explained later in the manga?

I haven't read the manga yet but I think people undermine Coco's emotional journey way too much. She's not even a teenager yet and she has to deal with a lot of things at her hand. And yet, she understands a lot of things couldn't have happened if she restrained her curiosity. Realistically speaking what do you expect from a 12 year old girl who is very excited about magic and very motivated to get what she wants, on how to act? If anything the adults around her should be blamed for not emphasizing enough about danger, what can and cannot be done. So far no adults have yet been truly honest with their intention of having her into the magic world.

Coco is just a kid, with normal curiosity and interest in the world around her. She loves her mother of course but could you blame her for trying to do what she's interested in without being fully aware of the consequences because she wasn't being taught for it. She chased after the masked magician because her thoughts and what Qifrey has been mentioning to her, is to remember.

Chill out please. The girl has a lot on her plate. And yet here she is not giving up and always trying her best with WHAT SHE KNOWS and CAPABLE of. She's definitely a magician material.

Why would you think about beating each other in friendship when it's supposed to be something you look forward to. For example her friendship with her other close friends which she frequently mentioned to Sang Hak.

I honestly couldn't relate at all and don't understand why girl friendship has to be portrayed like this. It's also ok actually to walk out of the friendship if you feel like it's consuming you and destroying yourself. It doesn't necessarily need to turn into enmity. It can also just friendship turned acquaintances. A lot of people has this kind of relationship.

My view of friendship really contribute to my lacking in understanding of the breakup of a friendship. I feel like in life, it's either you have friends or acquaintances. You can't expect every friendship to turned out to be some kind of enlightenment to your social life. You learn about yourself, move on, make peace with your flaws, embrace it, and accept the gap with your friends. What matters in the end is either each of us will be there for each other. I have a very small social circle, and I can confidently say, among them I am probably at the lowest rank if we were to compare our standings. Because they're my friends, I don't see the point of comparing and subject myself to some kind of inferior complexity, which btw will make me feel shitty I was just happy I have friends. Who are able to accept me as as unlovable person I am. I did have one time where I hide myself from my friends because I was at the lowest point of my life and I am at a dark road where I kept having dark thoughts about myself while putting other people as benchmark. I have also had friendship breakup (sort of) where I didn't know what I have done but I heard it myself how someone I thought so close to me said hurtful things about me to others. I walked a way from the friendship after so many years considering her as someone close to me. I also eventually learnt that we both had our own struggles and perhaps aren't compatible enough to be called friends. Crazy how I spent almost 6-7 years trying to be the best friend (in my own way), but she had never considered me as one. Blocked me for reasons that I didn't know of. My mom always said that she saw her as someone quite manipulative and my mom never quite liked her. Only when I reached adulthood and see her without any tinted glass or desperation, I finally understand this. I cried once for the friendship breakup because it was such a difficult position to move on or essentially dissociate myself from what used to be a huge part of my life. I decided it's best we become acquaintes. I appreciate my childhood and teenage years that I have spent with her. We were friends for almost 10 years.

I wish I really was able to connect with the drama. But it just pisses me off so much how a relationship being treated like that. It's one thing that both of them doesn't really know how to communicate but it's another thing to let it fester until it become toxic and just shifted something in you as a whole person.

This drama pisses me off so much because they're both adults. And in the end it's because of insecurities that they had this significant barrier between both of them. It is so twisted because they both could have been each other's solace if it's not for how they're not emotionally capable handling their insecurities and accept each other without comparing as it is.

I just don't know if I can continue watching this because as someone who struggles a lot to form a friendship or having bond, it frustrates me to watch relationship falling apart like this. I would have accepted, and tried to make peace with my shortcomings. There are things in life where we simply couldn't control and if you can't handle that how the fuck are you going to experience life with better and bigger perspective than your own struggles.

I hate Shi Qianlu but he's soooo good as a villain. He's really here playing chess with his enemies. He's not just a mindless villain. He really knows why he's a villain. No tragic background or whatsoever. He's really motivated by his narcissistic, psychopathic personality with very little regards over any human relationship he has. I mean he wasn't painted as a final boss with strength or anything. It was simply him playing games and manipulating situation to his favour. Honestly, very good characterization of a villain. Sometime people are just inherently evil and this is something that's pretty difficult to draw out since it takes someone to go through that thought process of being evil, involving some sort of psychological understanding for it.

Kind of reminds me of that article where it was mentioned over 40% of CEO is a psychopath lol.

Just an assumption, but basically Wooyeon hated Aaron to the core not only because he's possessive towards Inseop, but it's because Aaron is everything what Wooyeon couldn't be and wanted to be for/with Inseop.

It's like a reminder for him what a trash human being he is. And given the situation if Wooyeon is a normal person, he actually will be more or less similar to Aaron.

I also think if Wooyeon has a warm loving family like Inseop did, he wouldn't be as trashy and bastard as he is. Probably he has more important people that he will less likely consider a nuisance and annoying other than being so fixated on how fucked up his head is. Wooyeon's downfall actually is not his mental condition, but it's the fact that he succumbed to it. On top of it he was raised under so much privileges (rich people) where people can be seen as lesser being. It feeds his pride and ego. Not exactly a good combination with ASPD.

Then again I still can't tolerate his behaviour. But I give him credit for truly trying to cater to Inseop. Him having a person like Inseop in his life just proves that his mental condition is not his problem. It's the way he enables his shitty ass behaviours under the pretext that he's fucked up. So many times in the novel, he put down himself (unemotionally of course) like he's a trash, a bastard, an evil person. He doesn't need to point this out so much if he's not attaching himself to a certain type of personality or think about it a lot. He also mentioned how he's hurt everytime he was reminded of his issue (which probably like biggest Aha moment for me). His HATE-LOVE relationship with CEO Kim and Manager Cha also proves this. So many times they pushed Wooyeon button, he said so many threatening things to them, but mostly it just ended as something vulgar and bitter instead of actual crime. He still goes back to this two people because 1) he can be himself without issue 2) he knows they're the only people that eventually understand what matters to him despite his trashy evil personality. He knows essentially they're good people. If other people interfere with Inseop like how CEO Kim and Manager Cha did he would have cut them off, and ruined them entirely. But he almost always let them go for this. The fact that he has high anxiety, trauma, insomnia just even further proves, IT IS NOT THAT HE DOESN'T HAVE FEELING OR INCAPABLE OF FEELINGS, he never learn how to redirect that limited emotional capacity to something better (other than just hating and killing people in his mind all the time)

Point is Antisocial Personality Disorder is not inability to have feelings but it's rather inability to have moral code of conduct,lack of empathy and having manipulative behavior. In Wooyeon's case, that's why he developed obsession and strong affection for Inseop. People who don't have have capacity for emotions wouldn't be able to understand forming an attachment to someone. It's all object and means for them.

Anyway I feel like his POVs is boring af (when it doesn't involve Inseop). Other than thinking about Inseop all the time, he's always hating people, wanting to injure people, no meaning in life, no enjoyment in life, always so vulgar. I understand why he's uncomfortable with funeral. Personally sometimes I felt this too. But seriously his life is so uneventful and monotonous. No colors. If I can describe Wooyeon's life with color scheme, it will be dark grey. That's it. Like the only people he truly had in his life are Inseop, CEO Kim and Manager Cha LOL. Even with his imagination, he still includes only CEO Kim and Manager Cha. I found that funny as hell although he was annoyed and punished Manager Cha after that lmaoo.

I actually picked up again Love History Caused by Willful Negligence..

I am crying because Inseop's love is so pure and innocent. Very selfless. Very endearing. Very gentle. Very considerate. Very demanding. It's quite honestly difficult to find love like Inseop even if it's with straight relationship.

Wooyeon was right. He's a truly lucky bastard to have Inseop to love him as it is.

I will fight anyone who said Inseop is a pushover because if you did call him this you truly don't understand Inseop's character. His decision to love Wooyeon as a whole is HIS and he's always aware of this. And despite all this, he still thinks he's not the right person for Wooyeon thinking how lacking he's when in reality Inseop is everything that Wooyeon need in his life. Someone who accept his fucked up head. After rereading, this I finally understand this novel was never about Wooyeon. It's always about Inseop. Always.

Wooyeon will destroy the whole world for Inseop. Inseop will die not just for Wooyeon, but for his world and the entirety of it.

May love like Inseop find me one day.

btw I am not referring to the manhwa because to actually enjoy the story you definitely need to read the novel. The manhwa probably is just a fraction of what their relationship and beginning of their relationship. Unlike normal couple, they both started of quite messy due to the fact that there is still a huge distance between them they need to be bridged. But this will come in later chapters and volume.

I think the reason I liked Mercy For None so much is because it combined a lot of my pet tropes and played straight into them, with no fuss. Unconditional love, tranquil fury, gotta kill em all, loyalty/disloyalty amongst mobsters... Very simple plot, no twist, no mystery, just straight up rampage lmao

The tranquil fury trope, especially, is SO SATISFYING TO ME. So when it's done well and sustained throughout an entire movie/drama, from start to finish...... ohhhhhhh my god delicious. It's that contrast between the heat/chaos of the violence being inflicted and the coldness/calm of the one who inflicts it. It's kind of hard to find because characters crying and yelling and losing their shit is easier to portray, and (falsely) thought to be more impactful.

Shout-out to my man So Ji-seob for making Gi-jun look like 🥺😔 the entire time he slashed and smashed and crushed through his hit list, that was an added bonus.
