kinda funny, kinda interesting that every time i watch an action heavy drama i recognize at least ONE (1) actor (always portraying a gangster, bully, or violent character) who previously played a queer role.

[busts down your door in the middle of the night, eyes crazy] the thing is I don't understand why Sammy's Children's Day didn't make a lot of noise on my side of the internet like????? what's that all about?? although I did see a few posts about it here and there, they really didn't properly convey the actual vibe of the show lmao. There is plenty of stuff I don't and won't watch, but I still feel y'know, INFORMED, through fandom osmosis! but this one completely flew under the radar for me. where was i? dude.

It's like. good!!!!!! plot is bonkers and the first episode is pretty chaotic but whatever, the leads are A GIFT (a treasure! casting director struck absolute gold!!! im about to go in there and start digging tunnels like a feral mole and become a miner), and the cinematography is delicious. the colors?? the light? it's so visually engaging.... like I've missed this specific type of photography for real. also it's fun, and cute, and dramatic, and full of for real for real, almost old school romance.

there are a bunch of scenes in this that are firmly rooted in my brain for the foreseeable future. so anyway.
