BEST. SHOW. EVER.
They say history is written by the ones who are victorious. But I know history is written by the poets. The writers. The word weavers who turn seconds into hours. We are not liars. But we push the words around until the story sounds the way we want it to. And this is how I’ll write about you. I’ll write about you as though you loved me. I’ll tell our story in every shade of happy. I’ll make it pretty. I’ll write about your hands. How they were so beautiful I could have cried just looking at them. How my heart went boom with every single kiss. I’ll write about this. How you touched me with such tenderness that even my sharpest edges turned pliable. Your wild. Your gentle. Equal parts pleasure and pain. How my name found home in your mouth. I’ll write all this down. All those sleepless nights in June, the sweat rising from our bodies like our skin had something to prove, and I thought God, I just want to stare at you forever. But I won’t write about November. How our love stopped being beautiful. How it turned into this hideous thing, so godless and unforgiving. This howling creature that only knew how to tear itself apart. How your heart started lying long before your words did. How you started acting like I no longer existed. The accident. The morning after. How I could still hear the pills rattling inside me. I won’t write about the ugly. How you broke me over and over just because you could. I’ll write about how good we were together, but I won’t mention how you chose her. I won’t mention that last conversation where you said you regretted me. I’ll write about the heat, but I won’t write about the burning. I’ll say your eyes look like oceans, but I won’t write about the drowning. How I asked for nothing and got exactly that. I’ll write about you as though you loved me. I’ll tell our story in every shade of happy. I’ll make it pretty. I’ll write all this down. And years from now, people will read it as the truth. Darling. This is how I want the world to remember you.

"I figure there’s nothing you can’t do, if you put everything into it. The only thing that stops people from getting what they want is themselves. They put too many barriers in their paths. It’s like they’re afraid to succeed. In the way, I guess I know why, there’s a terrific amount of responsibility… But I think, if you’re not afraid, if you take everything you are, everything worthwhile in you, and direct it at one goal, one ultimate mark, you’ve got to get there. If you start accepting the world, letting things happen to you, around you, things will happen like you never dreamed they’d happen." - James Byron Dean (February 8, 1931 - September 30, 1955)
Theory of Everything
Like a star, she is held by her own gravity, she knows nothing about belonging to someone else’s grounds.

One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don’t throw it away.

What if I reverse the process, all the way back to see what happened at the beginning of time itself? The beginning of time itself. So the universe, getting smaller and smaller getting denser and denser, hotter and hotter as we-
You mean wind back the clock? Exactly wind back the clock. Wind back the clock. Is that what you’re doing? Are you winding back the clock- That is what i’m doing.
Keep winding. Keep winding.

What if all women were bigger and stronger than you and thought they were smarter What if women were the ones who started wars What if too many of your friends had been raped by women wielding giant dildos and no K-Y Jelly What if the state trooper who pulled you over on the New Jersey Turnpike was a woman and carried a gun What if the ability to menstruate was the prerequisite for most high-paying jobs What if your attractiveness to women depended on the size of your penis What if every time women saw you they’d hoot and make jerking motions with their hands What if women were always making jokes about how ugly penises are and how bad sperm tastes What if you had to explain what’s wrong with your car to big sweaty women with greasy hands who stared at your crotch in a garage where you are surrounded by posters of naked men with hard-ons What if men’s magazines featured cover photos of 14-year-old boys with socks tucked into the front of their jeans and articles like: “How to tell if your wife is unfaithful” or “What your doctor won’t tell you about your prostate” or “The truth about impotence” What if the doctor who examined your prostate was a woman and called you “Honey” What if you had to inhale your boss’s stale cigar breath as she insisted that sleeping with her was part of the job What if you couldn’t get away because the company dress code required you wear shoes designed to keep you from running And what if after all that women still wanted you to love them.

chasertiff:
When I say “boys are dumb” what I really mean is “boys have been raised in a patriarchal society that forces them into masculinity that not only forces them to strip away valuable virtues from themselves, like patience and gentleness, but also forces them to view and treat women in unhealthy ways that devalues women as people and makes them into objects purely for a man’s benefit”
but it’s a lot faster to say “boys are dumb”
what's more unfortunate is that us women are raised in the same patriarchal society as well, which thrusts us in distorted notions of femininity, such as the act of subjecting ourselves to the same unjust structure, for example. by doing so, we perpetuate the same oppressive society we seek to condemn. it's a vicious cycle most people aren't even aware of.
