Purge Commander Rex

I had just a little more Purge Trooper Rex to get out of my system, so here's one where he's all but inseparable from Inquisitor Tano. He refused to wear any of that lousy Imperial-made armor, though, and settled for painting over most of the blue on his old armor.

They're currently on Malachor, following whispers in the Force about some other mysterious Sith Lord planning to challenge Darth Sidious.

In this AU, none of the events that led Rex to question blind obedience to authority came to pass. As Anakin and Ahsoka were slowly claimed by the Dark Side, Rex was ever more deeply tied to their fates. Still chipped, Rex fought beside Ahsoka when she captured Maul, whom she dutifully delivered to Palpatine. She was rewarded by becoming one of the founding members of the Inquisitorius.

As resourceful as ever, somehow Maul escaped captivity. He was last seen at the edges of Wild Space.

Anakin - unburned - is now Darth Vader, but he is very busy raising his twins. They're all he has left of Padmé, who died after her lifeforce was sapped by Darth Sidious in childbirth, of mysterious causes. Sidious has promised that they will unlock the power to resurrect her (eventually), if they only pursue X, Y, and Z blah, blah Sith mysteries. Between that quest and being a father, Vader hasn't had time to waste on tracking down his former Jedi Master. Besides, hunting Jedi is what the inquisitors are for.

Kenobi missed Padmé's ship when she went to Mustafar. Unable to locate his fallen brother, he took Yoda's advice and fled the system with Quinlan Vos, helping to found the Hidden Path. But that's a whole other can of p'rink worms.

It's the wrongest of wrong of AUs. Subversive. Blasphemous.

Someone pointed out red isn't really Rex's color, so I had to see how 501st blue would look with purge trooper black.

Alright, in all seriousness, Commander. What survival tips can you give us?

Take a tooka with you, as well as the means to make a toasty fire.

Keep a blanket on your speeder when it's cold along with a ration bar and some extra power for your comm in case you get stuck somewhere. Even better if you can just stay inside.
