My thoughts on Yona’s still-hasn’t-happened-yet confession

(probably nothing new here)

I am going to start by admitting that yes, like many people, I got quite frustrated to see that Yona still hasn’t confessed back to Hak, since apparently there were no obstacles left between them. However, as the story has pointed out to us, that doesn’t seem to be the case. I’ll get to that.

One of the things that caught my attention were a few remarks mentioning Yona’s straightforwardness towards Soo-Won, which means her shyness towards Hak doesn’t make much sense now.

But then I remembered this detail from Chapter 123:

What Yona had for Soo-Won is but a feeble tiny insignificant crush compared to what she feels for Hak. This makes things much harder. My babies love / are deeply in love with each other *sheds a tear*

Let’s just remember real quick that at least she actually did try to tell Hak everything, only managing to blush and stutter before being interrupted by him. Oh well.

I simply came to the conclusion that Hak is still not ready to listen. He will only be able to do so after he moves on from “the darkness of the day of Soo-Won’s betrayal” (Jae-ha also pointed out that Yona is probably the only one who can save him) and finally realizes that Yona let go of the hairpin because she also let go of Soo-Won. There. Those are the main issues that need be solved (as I see it).

As much as I love my OTP, I just have to accept that this ship is not ready to set sail and that there are more important things about to happen that need to be dealt with first. I believe Yona feels that way too.
