I recently came across this interesting article with tips on how to save during grocery shopping. Planning out the meals in a week and figuring out what ingredients you would need might seem like a tiresome chore..I usually try to keep it all in my head and forget by the time I get to the store. If you're an anti-mildew-maven, it might be your best sidekick this side of $20.

Do you need extra seating but don't have extra room? Try out these multi-angle chairs. Just set them out when you have company and take advantage of their full flexibility to stash them away under a bed when not in use. They have great reviews for their thick padding and good back support, which you might not have expected in such a product. They are available from Plow & Hearth for $40 - not bad for stowable furniture :)

Did you ever think of enlisting the help of a cute little animal to prevent your door from closing? Plow & Hearth did! These cast-iron door stoppers are delicately carved in frog and bunny shapes and are quite inexpensive at just under $20. As far as lamps go, this one has a sweet, elegant feel to it. A mood lamp made of silk and paper in a classic sari pattern, handmade in Bangladesh, will be a nice addition to any Asian or African themed room. For a decorative touch, a sprig of fresh flowers peeking out one corner would be rather lovely. But if you'd rather not spend time and energy nursing delicate blooms, the more low-maintenance option of slipping in a roll or two of wrapping paper isn't half bad either (pardon the rough sketch — your ensemble will be much prettier :D):

These playful decorative shelves are handmade in Ljubljana, Slovenia, by husband-and-wife architect team Domen and Mateja Gerkssich. Put just the one up, or several (or more!) in a row to adorable effect. Available in a range of colour choices here for $45 each from Treebird Wood Designs at Etsy. It's also worth dropping by their 'about' page here, where the Gerkssiches introduce their firm and philosophy, and their love of Slovenia's natural beauty.

Putting up artwork is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to make a space your own, so we're always on the lookout for awesome prints and posters. Brooklyn-based Pop Chart Lab's meticulously researched 'A Visual Compendium of Cameras' gathers 100 iconic cameras from 1888 through 2013 and lays them out beautifully. You can find it on sale here for $20.40 from Fab. (Check out Pop Chart Lab's other posters, too, which range from detailed diagrams of dog breeds and bicycle types to Carrie Bradshaw's shoe collection. Yep, they have pretty wide-ranging interests.)
