kingroun:
He presses his lips together at the quickly returned remark, filled with sarcasm. He cannot say anything, because he knows she is RIGHT. His injury is severe enough it should not go untreated. But he always feels as if it is just quicker to use fire and a blade. He tends to get disapproving looks from healers when that is his solution. So he doesn’t suggest it. Especially with a gash this large. Even he realizes it would be FOOLISH to try such a thing. But he hates having to get stitches. It causes him to be overly careful. Healing takes longer.
Roan sighs “ I’ve had worse. ” He has the scar on his chest to prove it. But he leaves it at that. His eyes scan passed the clothe providing privacy to look into the joint healing room. Cots are spread out with the other wounded. Some treated already, others waiting or in the middle of being attended too. Fights have been settling down between clans. But the Coalition is still unstable and skirmishes like this are bound to happen.
She knew perhaps it wasn’t the smartest idea - she was after all trying to help the King, and if the wrong person took it badly it could end worse for her. But she had dealt with some seriously stubborn people - men and women both, who down played injuries until they ended up passing out and the last thing they needed was for Roan to down play this and later pay the price.
“I can see you have, so you should know - it’s easier to deal with this now rather than later.” Her voice was a little calmer, pleased that he wasn’t going to argue, she spoke as she worked - not caring if he didn’t answer, “I know healing doesn’t always go as fast as its hoped - but it’s better to take care of it sooner instead of it getting worse - you are still needed after all.”, her hands work quickly, but being careful to not cause more irritation of the injury - even if she was certain that he would be one of the ones that tried to not show he was in pain. Astraea knew this wouldn’t be the last injury she would be stitching up today, things were calmer than they had been - but there were still problems among the clans and sadly it seemed violence was still one of the first choices.
