In the description of this blog I mention I have a tiny kitchen:

Yeah, I have approximately enough counter space to hold two plates. And I know for a fact that there's only enough floor space for one human and two cats. Also:

MY OVEN DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A WINDOW. How's THAT for a realistic baking blog? No fancy kitchens here, just broken cabinets and dystopian despair.

FYI, I do promise to actually bake something soon.

Great British Baking Show, this is all your fault.

I read somewhere that The Great British Baking Show was like comfort food in TV form - excellent for cheering you up when you're feeling down. So I checked Netflix and tried it out.

I think I watched all 4 seasons available in the US in about a week. It's just so wholesome and sweet and...non-repetitive (no recaps after every non-existent commercial break, and no 30 seconds of tense silence waiting for them to announce winners either!)

But there was another side effect I wasn't planning on. I, suddenly, after 36 years of total non-domestic tom-boy happiness, have decided that I want to learn to bake.

I just want to make beautiful tasty things. It will quite possibly be a total trainwreck. Who wants to watch?
