Review: I actually really liked the premise of this podcast; dark paranormal food delivery app driver.  The sound quality is good, voice acting is good, and the story has a lot of potential. Unfortunately the execution just falls flat.  Each episode is roughly five minutes long which makes for an easy listen but gives the story choppy and broken feeling. The most frustrating thing is that the main character goes into horrifying homes but then doesn't give any explanation into why it was horrifying, just that the aura was wrong.  A pretty big let down for a psychological horror. There are no other voices than the narrators which isn't necessarily bad for storytelling but in this case it adds to there really being no other living influential character. It honestly feels like a less artistic replica of Alice Isn't Dead, going way too fast and giving no real meat to the story.  That being said I'm actually interested to see what other productions the author has created because clearly the ability to draft a story and produce are there.

Dungeons and Daddies

Review: This podcast is AMAZING.  It has quickly become one of my all time favorites.  I have laughed, I have cried, I have become a dad. This podcast is so full of life with every NPC being new and unique, somehow streamlining complete chaos into rich storytelling.  From dad joke induced damage to a telephone scam wizard, there are too many things worth listening for to name. If you're into heavy game mechanics this won't be for you, but the DM does an amazing job pulling all their nonsense into something functional.  The audio quality is great and the unique edited intro per episode is always one of my favorite parts. This is the kind of podcast you'll want to listen to twice as soon as you catch up

Real Life Ghost Stories

Review: There are more paranormal talk shows than the internet knows what to do with, but RLGS makes itself special.  The hosts are amazing readers and instantly personable, making you feel like you're back in a time when you and your friends would sit around a laptop in the dark trying to find stories that would freak the other person out.  They have a delightful banter and are respectful in their analysis of the stories they read. Many people write into the show saying they feel like they and the hosts are already friends in real life, they just make them feel that welcome.  I personally enjoy the range of stories from historical to listener submitted, though that means the quality of the content varies greatly. The great audio quality and hosting skils rarely waver though. It's the ghosts you'll come for, but the living you'll stay for with this one.

NEW PODCAST SHOUTOUT

Title: The Left Right Game

The first full episode is out for this new lost tapes horror audio drama. The audio quality is top notch as well as overrall production quality. Featuring a journalist on the road to discover the secret behind the "Left Right Game" as told in part by her lost tapes as well as friend giving some brief history of the female protagonist. The first episode was intriguing, scary, and left me curious for more. I love a good road trip horror mystery so I'll be adding The Left Right Game to my alert list.

Review: This podcast has its ups and downs all the way from start to finish.  It really does try to do something different with its narrative and while it doesn't always succeed in seamlessness, it is undeniably endearing.  I think one of the hardest things to accomplish as a writer is the crafting of a unique character that can be enjoyed even for the fact that they're annoying.  While the plot is convoluted and a little hard to follow, leaving some half baked plans in the mix, it is full of one of a kind characters and never takes itself too seriously.  I would recommend a listen because it really is a feel good podcast with queer representation full of laughs and love.

Ars Paradoxica

Review: Smart, funny, unique, engaging.  Ars Paradoxica is time travel for those hungry for science and realism.  The main character, Sally, builds a time machine and is ecstatic that it works, however being stuck in the past is less appealing.  This creates a slow churn of events as we see the rise and fall of government oversight, rebellions, betrayal, and family found and lost.  I love this podcast, it is so near and dear to my heart. Sally is one of the most likeable main characters as she struggles with both her brilliance and her faults.  The music is beautiful, the sound quality is top tier, and while the later season feels a little aimless, it all comes together to wrap up nicely with the final season.  Do yourself a favor and geek out over some time travel with this podcast.
