@poems-about-life
I count the stars
with you on my mind.
I'm fading away....
But I hope to survive.
I'm falling apart.
I hear the sound,
of a breaking heart.
I reach out, but there's never anything to hold onto.
I guess I'll be gone very soon too.
What am I?
Broken promises tangled around my heart.
I've been a mess, I'd like to say.
Giving in to my thoughts,
I'm fading away.
I don't even know what I am and what I'm not.
I'm gone too.
There's a knife in my back and I'm hurting too.
I hope you remember me, I really hope you do.
Because I miss you,
I really do.

Allez Vous
Allez Vous By: Leah
With a fragile glass of rose is in my hand, I listen to the Indigo Girls' Galileo. I hear Mozart playing jubilant major keys, Chopin playing sad nocturnes like the night, The smart souls of another lifetime. Thereâs a way about them They all flow like flowery rosĂŠ, Like a dove, In another lifetime. You like this music too, Allez vous listen with me? Somehow the songs Still resonate with those today Even with no lyrics, Like you do to me, No matter how much time has passed. All of the musical souls, Allez vous give me inspiration, determination like the songs? Allez vous soul salvation in the dark night like the songs? Allez vous give me reincarnation like the songs? Allez vous give me love? Allez vous listen with me? I love the guitar But I donât play. I love the violin, But I donât play. I love the flute, But I donât play. I love the saxophone, But I donât play, But allez vous? Thereâs just something so special About listening To an instrument with you That can instrument so many Wanted and unwanted feelings, That can ground the soul, Get it right, And give night vision. I can see In the highest light And insight When I listen to music From Franz To Emily and Amy To ambient tunes bringing a nirvana And allowing me to be nocturnal in the dark. Come of melody and Many a you Listen the nights away... Allez vous This time?
Enjoy the little moments. You never know when it will be the last time you experience them.
The smell of rain, the blooming of June flowersâ never have I been aware of this, to enter the shadow of your laughter, to collapse in those eyes, but what I have enjoyed the most, is the silence of the nightâ thick silence, just you and I, exceeding in the quiet solitude,

Hourglass
By: Leah
Being in quarantine Makes me think of you More than Iâm used to. Maybe because Iâm lonelier Than I am used to.
You are an hourglass Made of lace.
California Strangers
By: Leah I dream of a time where I can Go back to California, Where I can see the surfers on the waves In wetsuits protecting them from sorrow, Where the food trucks have men offering Napkins to wipe away pain. California is full of strangers, Of park rangers And Avengers. I like seeing strangers, People who I donât know. People I see Are new beginnings. They donât know me. They will take me as I am. I met a boy at an improv show Struggling to take a tow Of fame and fortune. He had a pretty face And hopes and dreams Made of lace. I met a girl who liked to go to Rodeo Drive And try shoes on but never buy, See the mannequins and admire. She wants to be a fashion designer. I met a boy at a coffee shop Who said he loves Star Wars, And wants to be in a big movie. I like seeing streets of strangers Full of Zac Efron life-size cutouts And conversations waiting to happen About the water and the waves, About the news and the graves. All types of life to talk about And to witness the beauty of, like a sunrise. I dream of a time where I can go back to California Go to a new home, Full of warmness, And strangers With botched dreams Like mine. Maybe they're not strangers after all.
Geraniums Blossom
By: Leah
Geraniums are children Popping out of the soil The little ones dressed in purple sprout Wanting to get taller But are stuck.
Then water falls from the sky Like an ocean of sorrowful eyes Laced with helpfulness And knowing the feeling Of being stuck in one place.
After the storm The pansies are sprinkled with growth They stretch their arms of velvet petals And yawn And sway as their fragile bodies Blossom.
Enjoy the little moments. You never know when it will be the last time you experience them.
roots we growâ¨unsure of what is waiting for usâ¨above the soil
we stretch out, tremblingâ¨trepidation clinging to usâ¨like moss
yet still, we reach outâ¨and when we sprout branches
we climb,â¨we climb
