The Tragedy of PoemsAboutGames
By the group of writers who identified themselves as William Shakespeare
[Nick is @the_seltic, Ryan is @hexadecima1, PoemsAboutGames is http://poemsaboutgames.tumblr.com/]
ACT I
PoemsAboutGames is attending GDC. While there, a mysterious soothsayer warns the website to beware of Festivus. PoemsAboutGames disregards the warning and exits the scene. Shortly afterwards, Nick expresses fear that PoemsAboutGames is not achieving its goals. While Ryan is surprised that Nick thinks similarly about the shortcomings of PoemsAboutGames, Ryan has been plotting to assassinate PoemsAboutGames for quite some time. It takes a lot of work to run a website, after all. Ryan additionally points out that PoemsAboutGames complains when it’s sick and can’t swim well. PoemsAboutGames returns to the scene, making note of the shifty nature of Ryan.
ACT II
Nick awakes the next day to find notes apparently written by twitter users calling for the death of PoemsAboutGames, while in reality these notes were manufactured by Ryan. Nick realizes that today is Festivus. Ryan shows up with a bunch of other reasons for killing PoemsAboutGames, and Nick finally agrees to do so. PoemsAboutGames decides to continue existing despite the warning of its close friends, and the persistent warning of the soothsayer.
ACT III
Nick and Ryan follow PoemsAboutGames, entering into the tumblrsphere. They slowly approach PoemsAboutGames with what seems like a harmless free-verse poem. Then they both stab PoemsAboutGames. PoemsAboutGames learns how to speak latin somehow, and exclaims, “Et tu, Nick?”
PoemsAboutGames dies
Ryan yells, “IT’S ANOTHER FESTIVUS MIRACLE”
Nick yells, “IT’S ACTUALLY ABOUT ETHICS IN GAMES JOURNALISM”
then the analogy kind of falls apart so we didn't do the next 2 acts
basically we got bored and didn't become really popular, so we quit.
