i never knew

i never knew what i would do

if something happened to you

what could push me through?

this chamber feels big

it was only built for two

oh, the years have gone by

when i look around, you’ll be by my side

and oh

there’s where i’ll die

i’ll die and reside in the hopes of your arms tonight

why do you think, that i’ll be there in a wink

how i wish you’d do that for me

the fire inside, is burning as bright as the sun could be

and oh

how i wish to hold you around me

like the planets rotating around the sun

oh lord how you make me unbound, undone

in the meantime i hope you to keep you around and continue to have some fun

“Ones man trash is another man’s treasure.”

That’s what they say.

I never believed that.

Once something is done, it’s done, it can never be fulfilling anymore.

Until I met you again.

You found me when I was a broken plate in a box on the side of someone’s curb.

You took me in, careful with me, as you knew a broken plate was fragile.

You were wary too, glass is sharp as a woman’s troubled tongue.

Finding a star-speckled glue, you took me piece by piece, trying to figure out the smaller parts of me to form the bigger picture.

The cracks are still there, the damage is done.

Small pieces missing, you decided it was perfect enough. Nothing is truly perfect; it takes a kind man to see something as perfect.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

I don’t care

I write as I drown

You are worth these salty waves

Every drop, every molecule

I tell myself you are,

Yet you aren’t.

“I don’t love you”,

I tell myself.

But I do

My heart hurts.

Sometimes,

I wish I could reach in,

Into my chest cavity,

to rip it out.

Only to finally see

not red, full of life,

but a somber heart decaying from grief.

I don’t want to keep it in, but i have to.

Because it is mine

and

not yours.

i tore my heart open with a can opener

jagged and messy and oozing of liquid

i see what you do for others

who never reciprocate your love

here i am, jagged, messy and oozing

wondering

why i am on the back burner of the stove?

you interrupted me

my bells and whistles started to bleed

all so you could see the parts of me

that i’ve always wanted you to see

the flags are hanging up

for the high tide that’s washing me down
