glove
sometimes i ponder
sitting in the library
some will see me wonder
i just sit, in fear
what if this dream ends?
will you still be here, my dear?
my heart crushes at the thought
you wouldn’t do that to me right?
i remember every date on the dot
every smile you give
every kiss we share
you wouldn’t leave me right my love?
so gentle and soft
you fit me like a glove
what happens when you grow sizes
what happens when the leather wears out
i will still be a worn out glove
and you’ll still be in doubt
what happens when i make your hands cold
shivering in the snow
you’ll find something new
maybe she glows
like you once thought i did.
maybe she makes you feel warm
maybe next winter i’ll just be a worn out glove for someone else to repair?
