Should and Must

According to author Elle Luna, there are two possible paths we can take throughout our lives; the path of should, and the past of must. “When we choose should, we’re choosing to live our life for someone or something other than ourselves. The journey to should can be smooth, the rewards can seem clear, and the options are often plentiful.” Must, she says, is much different. “Must is who we are, what we believe, and what we do when we are alone with our truest, most authentic self. It’s that which calls to us most deeply. It’s our convictions, our passions, our deepest held urges and desires.” I’ve been stumbling around for a while now, losing my way several times, but I’ve finally arrived on the doorstep of must, and there can be absolutely no compromise.

Break

This world has been divided into two things...

Violence and sex

So it seems I'll be reduced to either fucked outta justice or snapped outta my neck

We've lost sight of what's right...embraced what's wrong...all in a few steps

I get so tired of walking through this life, sometimes I hope I trip into the next

Hoping it's not Hell cause I've seen enough of that...here

Stuck in the darkness so long...what shall I fear?

Seeing all these sold souls, wondering what's my budget

Hoping my destination's Heaven, I'll carry "Light" Luggage

But it's hard to make it there, always distracted by something

Gorging myself like a glutton....trying to hold on to my substance

Peace looks so beautiful, I want it, got me lusting

Pissed off that I can't seem to have it in all this havoc

Do our souls sometimes crash into each other in all the world's traffic?

Whatever God you believe in, can you hear him? Or get static?

Adjusting my atennae to hear what mine could possibly say

Tomorrow may not be there for me, can't find comfort in the day

And I need an answer...which way?

Shall I walk...and I need an answer....have I taken the right steps?

Wall Flowers

We are like shadows on the wall

We see each other as something different than we are

In the light

....

....

Forget it

Tonight=candlelight

And you look so sweet I could bite

Our love is always ripe

But life...sometimes gives out a sour bite

And that's the taste we're left with...

I'm left with

Always spitting

The way our love hurts...I was destined to be a poet

Our love is a picture? They say they last a lifetime

I guess that's how long it will be

To be free...

Hyde is back–

she slithers from within my pores,  ignores my desperate banging at the walls  of my mind, obscures the light from my eyes. 

Hyde steals the color and the sweetness from my lips.  Her words taste like wormwood, and I do not want to hear  them spilling from my mouth but my hands are  bound. She halts my pen and delights in waving blank pages in my face. 

Hyde shutters the windows of my apartment  and turns off the lights,  leaves me to cry facedown on the floor as she writes the names of my loved ones in venom. She hisses  Happy Halloween at everyone who shies from this uncanny figure  in my shape. 

I did not get a chance to dress up this year,  but that doesn’t matter–

the monster is back.

"See Your Worth"

Most guys can’t handle you….they’ll get mad I said that But…. It’s the truth Your beauty so the truth They feel they have to lie to keep you by their side Cause once you find That they’re not worthy….they see themselves in a different light Damn this world dark! But your smile carries a different light (Wish I could see it tonight) I need more than sunshine But just to say, if you were mine The only time I’d cross the line Is to race to your needs No Gardner but I’d plant seeds To see you get a good harvest You’ll never feel like you love the hardest (You can’t beat me at that I admit) Don’t be mad I’ll beat a cloud until it lightens up when you’re sad Rip the sky if it thinks of raining on your parade Yeah I can’t sing (With vocals) But I can change your vocals Make you sing different lyrics and tones Make your body sing in a moan But that ain’t want I’m after, just don’t wanna see you alone Or forgiving a man pretending to try to atone When you’re better off alone But you make me wanna atone To whoever got their eye on me, cause I wish you had your eye on me Heart always in the right place, can rely on me When your world feel like it’s closing in, put the sky on me I’m ready I’ll hold it steady Just don’t wanna see you deal with the heavy Wanna make love to your mind, like I broke a levee Till it make your body rain heavy Show you real love if you’re ready So confident Cause honest it’s Easy for me… Let me show you how easy it could be Like the way you destroy competition I’ll give you the kind love you been wishing… For But even if not a chance Had to take the chance To let you know I see You’re so out of their league And I just want you to see Not all guys are blind for what it’s worth I see your worth
