໑ Running Through A Cloud Of Steam by @allwaswell16​ (M, 5.7k, friends to lovers, soulmates au, body swap) a fun way to find who your soulmate is. and even though i knew what is going to happen, there were so many elements that made the fic to stand out for me, especially when it switched to Louis’ POV (but Harry’s was just as great!)

໑ Warm Chilling by @larryyouknow​ (G, 7.8k, strangers to lovers, countryside au) as i was reading i could feel the breeze in my face as if i was in the countryside, which honestly what a nice place it sounds. i liked the easy banter between Louis and Harry, and of course i loved all the animals. lovely reading, check it out!

໑ Kalopsia by delsicle / @eeveelou (M, 9k, established relationship, dark au, very very dark please read tags and author’s note) so well written and well thought. it’s very heavy so be careful if you don’t like dark aus but if you do, you’re gonna love this one. i’m planning on rereading this during halloween if not before bc it was really good.

໑ let me be your good night by @levelofcharm (E, 10.5k, strangers to lovers, valentine’s day, rich louis, waiter harry, read tags) i loved the characterisation here (especially Louis’), it was very close to my heart. and in general it was so good, so entertaining to read.

໑ Obsessive Love by Jennifer_Kaid / @poetsreprieve (E, 11k, strangers to lovers, prison au, dark harry, innocent louis) i felt like watching a series when i was reading this. i could read more abt this universe with no hesitation, it was amazing.

໑ kiss me in your chevrolet by cinnamons / @sunbellylou (E, 11k, established relationship, road trip au, read tags) ahhh this story was amazing. it tele-transported me to a new era completely. my heart ached for Louis but i loved how cherished he was by Harry, unconditionally. came for the smut, stayed for the feelings.  

໑ Souls; Plural, Parallel by LadyLondonderry / @londonfoginacup (T, 19.6k, strangers to lovers, soulmates au, one night stand, pregnant louis) such a cute concept and a extremely fun way to tell it. i fell in love with several things during my reading, especially how lovely Louis was towards Harry.

໑ lovin’ online by @levelofcharm and @pleasing-louis (NR, 27k, established relationship, frat boys au, sex tapes) i loved every second of this. their relationship was so lovely and admirable, there are very sweet moments during the fic, but there’s also smut which was hot HOT so you’ll find a good mix here.

໑ he was sunshine, i was midnight rain by wildestdreams / @thelavendrhaze (E, 30.8k, exes to lovers, a/b/o regency au, artist harry) ahhh this one was angsty but so entertaining because of all the jealousy going on. tbh i thought it was shorter bc of how fast i read it.

໑ Maybe You’ll Like the Way I Am by @lululawrence (NR, 55.8k, neighbours to lovers, a/b/o fake relationship au, medical conditions, read tags and author’s note) what a beautiful story, a must read for hurt/comfort lovers! it’s angsty but fun and romantic. it touches heavy topics but in a very natural way.

໑ Perfect Storm by @cherrystreet (E, 80k, exes to lovers, fake relationship, wedding, hawaii) i loved this fic so much! i love discovering old fics that feel timeless. the characterisation was on point and there were so many moments where i felt my heart squishing.

໑ nothing quite hits like you by @outropeace (E, 80.8k, enemies to lovers, a/b/o dark academy au, curses, read tags) this fic was quite the journey. i don’t know how else to explain it. if you’re into fantasy and genuine rivalry between Louis and Harry, you’re gonna love this one.

໑ Darling, so it goes by @disgruntledkittenface  (E, 195k, strangers to lovers, royalty au, grace kelly au, actor harry, prince louis) i learned so much with this fic! it was very entertaining and i could only put it down when it was strictly necessary but it didn’t feel as long as it is. i could read more abt the future of their family bc i’m sure they’d have the best anecdotes, especially as parents.

໑ we’re right here in this room by flicker_album / @niall-official (niall/shawn mendes, G, 2k, strangers to lovers, coffee shop au) very soft and sweet! a perfect meet cute with amazing setting and characterisation.

໑ a sudden desire by edensrose / @holdingthornsandroses (louis/agent whiskey, E, 2k, strangers to lovers, nurse louis, pwp) this was so hot and sexy! the summary says “save a horse, ride a cowboy” so you can imagine what happens and it’s perfect.

໑ Doc In My Box by @homosociallyyours (girl direction, E, 2.6k, established relationship, doctor harry, pwp) so intimate and sexy! i really loved the way the author captured the trust between the couple in subtle ways.

໑ count me in by @disgruntledkittenface (girl direction, zayn/harry, NR, 3k, established relationship, a/b/o au, proposal) this was so lovely and cute. it reminded me how important it is for people to give something that the giftee is going to really enjoy. and it was nice to see a glimpse of niall and louis’ life.

໑ when we’re finished saying nothing by @disgruntledkittenface (girl direction, M, 3k, established relationship, a/b/o au, pre-rut) this story was inspired by “written all over your face” and the author did a terrific job. it has so many great a/b/o elements that really make sense with the story. absolutely amazing.

Goncharov Lore (“Gonchlore” if you will) Masterpost

Note: this is regarding the lore made up by tumblr collaboratively about a fake Martin Scorsese film. See the post that started it all and fake poster.

Goncharov was released in 1973. It was written by Matteo JWHJ 0715 and directed (?) and/or possibly co-written by Martin Scorsese. Scorsese’s big name helped popularize the film, but as a result JWHJ 0715’s significant contribution is often overlooked

Goncharov was forgotten and was actually difficult to acquire for many years. This may have been due to corporations hoarding rights and access, the actually mafia targeting distribution of the film, other factors, or a combination of these. This led to pirating of the film, which allegedly led to pirating discourse surrounding the film

There are talks of a Goncharov II or remake

Goncharov is a mafia boss in Naples of Russian origin. His wife/fiancée is named Katya, also of Russian origin. Goncharov may or may not have fled Russia, and may or may not have been pursued by someone trying to get him back to Russia, possibly to face legal justice. One such person trying to do this could be Valery Michailov

Valery Michailov in Katya’s sister. He may resent Goncharov due to his relationship with his sister and due to Goncharov being wanted by the Russian government. He is somewhat patriotic, possibly a former government worker or soldier.

Katya’s last name is either Michailova or Goncharova (although possibly with the wrong suffix). Her relationship with Goncharov is strained, tense, and possibly loveless. She ends up betraying him in the end. This is often seen as a subversion on the typical tropes for women in mafia movies.

At some point, Katya is on a bridge with Goncharov. At some point, Katya points a gun at Goncharov. At some point, Katya is injured on a boat/in a boathouse.

Katya is amicable with someone named Sofia, who has brown hair. She also has subtextual homoerotic tension with her

Sofia may be working class/poorer than many of the other characters are.

Goncharov has subtextual homoerotic tension with someone named Andrey. Andrey is Goncharov’s old friend/best friend/nemesis/enemy/competitor. There is at least one instance of one of them trying to kill the other.

Ice pick Joe is played by John Cazale, making this his 6th movie. He has a famous 10 minute scene with Katya, and at some point dies, also possibly at the hands of Katya.

Mario Ambrosini works with Goncharov, possibly as a lackey or number two. At some point in the middle of the story, he betrays Goncharov and Goncharov tells him that he “never wants to see [Mario] again”. It is unclear what happens to him after that. Mario also has a relationship with Andrey that some have described as “fascinating”. It is unclear how.

There is a clock motif in Goncharov, and a general theme regarding “running out of time” before death. There are a few characters who seem at the very least subconsciously aware of the fact that they have little time until their death. The film also deals with the theme of fate, of death and tragedy being and inevitable thing for these characters.

Goncharov dies at the end of the movie, due to someone’s betrayal.

Goncharov (1973) was heavily influenced by the American Cold War propaganda of the time. Some argue that it plays right into the stereotypes of Russians, others say it is a clever subversion of the propaganda and stereotypes of the time.

happy wip wednesday! i’d like to share with you part of my wip for this year’s @bottomlouisficfest (prompt 117). the work is still untitled but you’ll help me with that later on. *

Harry barely paid attention after that, too distracted by the way Louis’s mouth enunciated the words, pink lips forming a small ‘o’ at the end of each sentence. Even without hearing a word, Harry could pinpoint Louis’s accent which made him even sexier. 

Louis brought him back to the present, snapping his fingers on Harry’s face. “Did you hear me?”

“Of course I did.”

“Good. Then I’ll see you in two days. I’ll send you the address via mail if that’s okay, I’ll still need to confirm the availability of the place.”

“Am I being dismissed?” Harry asked with a frown. 

“Unless you need to cover something else.” Louis replied with a questioning tone. 

“No, I mean, it’s just that, I wouldn’t want this dinner to go to waste so we can, y’know, switch the mode from business to pleasure.” He attempted for a second time to reach for Louis’s hand. This time, the man let him. 

“If that’s what you want, yes, we can forgo the business mode. But then I’ll have to ask my daughter to join us so she doesn’t eat alone.”

“Your what?”

“My daughter. Sitting on your right.” *

You guys have been amazing with your support on here, on ao3, and on twitter. It has truly warmed my heart with all the reassurance.

I promise to reciprocate that love and not abandon writing fics. I just need a little time away, a few days at most, and I'll be back (maybe this time with an update schedule for once). I need to remind myself of the joy I felt when I wrote with no expectations -- writing used to be my escape, and I don't want it to become a chore.

I think once I'm done with my current Larry wips, I'm gonna take a break from the fandom. It might seem selfish but lately I've felt as if my works are not appreciated, and thus not required. I feel like I'm hardly contributing to this fandom or ship. And while I'll always be a larrie, I can't say for sure if I will solely write for this ship.

That doesn't mean I don't appreciate all those who have been around to support my works, of course, I do. And I love all of you for that.

I don't think it would be wrong to say that a writer needs validation. And lately I've felt as if I'm sending my works out into a void, where they were originally cherished by me, but now they simply exist without a purpose. I've been pouring my heart into my latest two works, and while I should be satisfied with doing it for myself, the truth is, I'm not. I write because I wish to share, or else they would never have seen the light of day.

So... here's to hoping I get out of this mood soon, cause I truly love writing, but the lack of engagement is heartbreaking.

The thought of being tied to a person, of being obligated to them had always irked him. How could a single code in the long string of genetics bind one to another?
