i cannot express how much i hate sorrel and how i developed her

I will spill out my disguised hatred for a fictional AU character: the post

Although I enjoy interacting with her, she is your character and I will respect your decision if you want to stop using her for good

I might actually just drop her completely. I don’t like the way I have her developed, and I just.. Can’t fit into her personality easily. She’s had her ‘redemption arc’ by killing Vigor, and that’s kinda just it. I don’t have anything to do with her, and she just isn’t that enjoyable to look at as a character. Even though I love her design, I just.. Don’t know how I want her to change.

She’s had so many changes that it’s just hard to decide on what she is. Sure, characters that go through trauma like abuse might be somewhat harsh to others due to what they’ve gone through. But I just don’t think I developed that correctly.

If I can find a way to fix her character, I will definitely do so. I’ll bring her back if I do. Again, I love her design, but I just don’t like the way I have her personality and character developed. I cannot work with it that easily, so I might just scrap it completely; Initially, I wanted her to be this afraid character that really didn’t trust anyone. But it turned to a harsh personality with intense mood swings. She’s really passive-aggressive and I just can’t write that out as easily.

That’s kind of why I switched over to Audrey; I wanted a fresh start with a character; Someone who’s gone through a lot and actually learns from their mistakes. Sorrel wasn’t forgiving to those who hurt her, and she was just really blunt. I developed Audrey to be the exact opposite. She forgives those who have hurt her in the past (ie. Vigor. No matter how many times he hurts her, she’ll still forgive him. She knows what he is doing is wrong- She’s been cruel in the past and she has learned from her mistakes. The main reason for her forgiving him so many times is because she wants to help him change for the better.) and doesn’t dwell on many mistakes.

Of course, most characters come with baggage; I felt like Sorrel had too much of that. She was basically just a pile of random emotions that I spilled out onto a roleplay account.

Again; If I can find a way to give her a good redemption arc and work her into a more well-rounded character that isn’t like most of mine (ie. forming her back into what I had initially designed) then I will definitely bring her back! I’m working on doing that. I don’t want to abandon that account because I know I can still fix things with her character; I’ve made a lot of friends through roleplaying as Sorrel, and I’ve gotten so many good ideas from it.

She had pulled her hair back into a bun; half of her bangs covered her face and she gently rested on a bench. She wasn’t exactly laying there, she wasn’t even doing anything interesting; she was just enjoying the nice sunshine.

She took a deep breath in and exhaled calmly. It felt nice, being out in the open again.

When she spotted Iris, she let out a happy squeal and ran over. She wrapped the other in a gently hug. “Iris!”

She flinched; not even expecting any affection. But when she realized who it was, she was happy but taken aback at first. But either way, she just returned the affection gratefully; speaking in the same tired and sad voice she always spoke in, “hey..”

She blinked at Iris happily. “I-It’s been a while, huh..?” So much had gone unsaid in the time she was gone.

She spotted Solar and worriedly rushed over. “Solar? What happened to you?”

Solar looked at Sorrel. “Gem…esruc…kcarc.”

“Gem cracked..?” She does her best to make out the words. “Oh, jeez..”

Solar glitched again and coughed up a bright pink liquid.

She rested her hand on the Spinel’s shoulder. “Is there anything I can do to help..?”

Solar slowly shook her head. “Deirt ydaerla mueD.”

“..I’ll take that as a no.” Sorrel sat down next to her and sighed. “I’m sorry.”
