Here are PokéPride headcanons / possible worldbuilding. What pokémon are used as symbols of different identities and why!
Decide how many pokemon you want your Trainer to have and then get a random number generator to pick that many from 1-22. If you don’t want to use a prompt for whatever reason, reroll!
You can self impose limits on repeats, legendaries & shiny status. For instance, when prompts use shinies as a basis you can use the pokémon the answer would be but non-shiny.
There is potential for updates so check the original for the possibility of more prompts if you want.

Sometimes divided into transfem and transmasc using the standard and shiny colourations respectively, but a lot of the time a Sylveon symbol is inclusive to all who consider themselves trans.
Subtle Sylveon symbols often reference their bows or ribbons.
CW Transphobia = Some trans people also relate to one of the many sad Sylveon experiences, being loved until they’re open about their expression (transitioning or evolving) at which point they’re shunned.
Azurill line = transgender
Based on the fact that within certain populations, female Azurill can evolve into male Marill.
The symbols are often just Azurill and Azumarill. Marill can be used by trans communities, but it is also used by intersex communities.
Usage has different connotations than using Sylveon; where Sylveon are often reflective of a desire for acceptance, the Azurill line are used to show that one’s gender and expression of it was always going to happen regardless of others.
It has also be used by trans people who embrace their previous gender. They were A, now they are B, but that doesn’t mean they were never A and they do not want to discount how they were as A.
Amoonguss = transgender
Lesser known as this is a relatively new association and knowledge is limited to those with some knowledge of the competitive battling scene.
Used more as a symbol of allyship and solidarity with trans people, rather than being a symbol forged from kinship.
CW Transphobe mention = Became a symbol after a championship finals match where an Amoonguss was the main reason for the transphobic opponent losing, managing to put opponents to sleep and sludge bomb perfectly.
Croagunk = transmasc
A rare symbol used by transmasc folk who experienced hardships because of being trans, often using Croagunk instead of other symbols because said hardships are a key part of their identity.
The white stripes on its torso are reminiscent of makeshift binders; fighting is done to “ensure survival”; Croagunk poison specifically being used in medication for lower back pain while the poison in general can be seen as a defence.
It makes sense the pokémon that can be anything is a symbol for so many things.
Ditto can be a symbol for genderfluid communities due to their transforming capabilities allowing them to change from one species to another with ease, correlated to genderfluid people’s changing gender identity.
GNC groups also identified with ditto due to it appearing however it wants but it being a ditto is still a core part of it’s existence.
Xenogender communities as a collective (since the specific communities within have their own symbols) also also adopted ditto because they are the only pokemon like them out of all pokémon species, hence their own egg group, and sympathise with the idea of only others like you understanding the deeper parts of you regardless of how else you present as or who you integrate yourself with.
The different communities often use ditto in different ways to differentiate what is being represented: in genderfluid contexts the ditto is between forms, showing traits of multiple species as well as the ditto itself; in GNC contexts the ditto is as another pokémon but with the ditto’s signature face; in xenogender contexts the ditto is as itself.
Aegislash = Non-binary
As concisely said by this post,
They Literally Slash Them
and has the colours of the most standard non-binary flag.
Said to have 7 coloured wings and have a rainbow forming behind it.
Seeing it — often used as metaphor for accepting this part of one’s identity in yourself and others — is said to bring eternal happiness.
Descriptions of it “flying continuously” can be used to reference LGBT+ always existing.
The Nidoran lines = LGBT+
Used as the pokémon in the lines are often maligned and considered misunderstood, as well as their purplish colours being a mix of masculinity and femininity.
An older symbol that isn’t used as much nowadays, at least by the youth, as the boundaries of what it includes are seen to be more restrictive than more general LGBT+ symbols like Ho-Oh.
Marill = Intersex
Used by intersex communities to symbolise intersex traits that were made known during puberty, either for the first time or moreso than as younger children and infants, due to some populations of female Azurill evolving into male Marill.
Sometimes the whole line is used, however the Azurill’s line’s usage by the trans community makes this less common. Occasionally to differentiate, intersex spaces use the shiny colourations.
List of possible associations pokémon may have to LGBT+ within the pokémon universe. First are generic altogether pride, then gender-related ones, then orientation-related ones (romance and sexual mainly).

Annihilape = I just like some kid looking like a raggedy mess yelling “Hatred and spite fuel my might!” before they deck someone 4x their size.
Carbink = fed up because no they are not Diancie. Also since Chromastone and Diamondhead I like crystally people.
Crawdaunt = Star mask? Yes. Exosheleton? Yes. At least one claw? Yes. Extra claw arms? Hopefully.
Ditto = “thanks for saving me!!” “:)” ok seriously though would this be a shapeshifter or would they get the powers of other magical people or both or what!!
Drifblim = elongated and widened arms so they can easily carry people while flying. I had to include them somehow I love Drifblim so much
Duskull = I can reuse Ghost Trainer ideas (poké-Ghost Rider); skull face/mask, one red eye, skin or at least hair to tone it down for this is now the wispy smoke
Greavard = all the sadness of the dog who just wants friends but can’t keep them on a person who can articulate and fully understand it? Oooooo
Malamar = hypnosis and tentacle hair maybe???! Hell yeah
Salandit = I mean it has a mask built in. They’d look like a criminal too so any plot about hiding from police makes way more sense. Maybe even hiding from other heroes who also think they’re a villain because of poor timing & bad luck

Sylveon = just let me use my skin ribbon idea I swear it’ll be great—
Toxicroak = like Wolverine but always out and only One (1)
Galarian Articuno has chosen a Frosmoth. Gal. Articuno witnessed it attempting to fend off a Corviknight trying to eat its young. It’s tenacity in the face of overwhelming defeat earned it the legendary’s pity.
Glastrier chose a Rhyhorn. It’s one track mind conflicted with Glastrier’s and they fought until the Rhyhorn got what it wanted, ignoring its lethal injuries. Glastrier respected the pokémon so much it imbued it with its power.
Hoopa chose a Morpeko. After watching its antics in the name of a snack, Hoopa bestowed it with its power so the Morpeko could perform more entertaining feats and hopefully score more food.
Lunala’s main chosen is a Clefairy. Believing Lunala to be the Moon itself descending to bless their group for their dances, this was the only Clefairy who tracked it all the way to its destination.
so a lot of my main pokémon ocs are from the same universe, with most of them sharing a school, albeit at different points. sometimes. ok a lot went to school together at some point.
No Name, legally Terry Deerling, who ditched school (I think??) and later moved to Ferrum to be a technique specialist. People initially thought they were going to be a poison specialist, but that was just coincidence of what pokémon they got.
Euca Lipton, a fire-type enthusiast and Terry’s best friend. He settled in Orre after a couple years of travelling, becoming a bartender and moving in with his at-the-time-fiancé & professional pokemon stylist Dante and his Bergmite.
Melanie, who was seriously injured after graduating. Going by Wat (based on an old nickname) out of necessity now, Mel works at a prestigious daycare while illegally battling with their enthusiastic mons as a side hustle.
Arabella, an ex-champion, Melanie’s school-sweetheart and still long-standing crush. She actively tries to forget most of her time in school, but her Whimsicott Fuzzbul will not let her forget battling information any time soon.
Marlow was left disillusioned from xir time in the school. Initially an equally unhappy member of Team Rocket, xe eventually became the head of a casino circuit in Unova and is a business partner of xir former employer. Most of xir pokémon are “rehomed” from current and prior Team Rocket members.
i tried making fire type variants of aipom because 1. the flaming hand science experiment 2. napalm.
and it became fire type convergent toads because exploding toads called Naipom and Keropom.
but I don’t actually know how to make them convergent design-wise so maybe they’ll be a completely separate thing. They can share a suffix, eeveelutions & lumineon style, right?

I think designs were vague gijinka/anthro their pokémon but I like the opposite as well. Very vague though I mean it. Just close to colours and spikes or curls. Only hint is Vibes, whatever that means.
Basis of plot: Arial is eager to the point of recklessness, Phran is generally apathetic and go with the flow. Character arcs based on learning from one another
Hence Clefable/Gengar thing
Arial learns to choose his battles, Phran changes to have some initiative & ambition.
Foreshadowed in how they gain their Burst Hearts; Arial runs away and Phran goes out of her way to take the other box. (Foreshadowing their behavioural changes based on their behaviour is a Choice. I mean emphasise it’s different because of the Burst Hearts?? Somehow??)

( Lawrence is sat in the usual right-side chair. He is as professional as ever, paying no notice to his interviewee being a Greedent. In all fairness, the Greedent is sat very politely. )
Lawrence: Battle fans, hello, hello! I am Lawrence Renfield, the Unite Battle Network’s go-to guy for making special content just for you and today I have managed to snag a treat of an interview–
( The Greedent waves at the camera and squeaks. In the blink of an eye a redhead leaps up from behind it's chair and swings her arms around the back. The pokémon is unfazed. Lawrence is certainly fazed. )
Nina: HIIIYA!!
( She cackles and scratches the Greedent's head. Lawrence, meanwhile, recovers. )
Lawrence: –the Chucklefvcks themselves, Nina Vievin and Chuckles! Are you going to stay standing?
Nina: Nahhh, I'll come down. If he'll let me.
( Chuckles, on cue, looks directly up to Nina. He reaches into his neck fur, retrieves a berry, and offers it to her. She shakes her head. Chuckles hops off the chair and sits between the two chairs to munch on the oran himself as Nina swiftly takes his seat. )
Lawrence: Please don't stain the carpet... So, Nina! This is 3 years in the making?
Nina: ... Oh fuck I guess– wait can I swear on here?!
( Lawrence looks to the cameraman. )
Cody: I mean, they are called "the chucklefucks".
Lawrence: ...we will see in editing.
Nina: I'll try be clean. But, uhhhh, OH YEAH. 6 if you count B.C.
Lawrence: B..?
Lawrence & Nina: Before Chuckles.
( Nina nods as the Greedent looks to both of them. He resumes eating quickly. )
Lawrence: What was life like B.C.?
Nina: MISERABLE!!
( Nina and Lawrence laugh. )
Nina: It was fine I guess? Like I battled but only really as something to do. Got bored of it for a while. Stopped and then I got Chuckles.
Lawrence: What got you back into battling then?
Nina: CHUCKLES! Someone let slip Skwovet are legal and he would not let me anywhere near the place without going for a battle. I started enjoying it once we changed his build to be very tanky–
Lawrence: Once you discovered you could troll people?
Nina: Pretty much, yeah. Once I discovered I could really piss people off– SORRY.
( Lawrence shakes his head with a strained smile. Nina awkwardly laughs while covering her face, sliding down in her chair. Lawrence takes a breath to regain his composure. )
Lawrence: Was your immediate thought "I can make content from this" or did the online stuff come after?
( Nina pushes herself back up enthusiastically. )
Nina: Nah, the vids came after a Tinkatok of Chuckles wiping the same Wigglytuff twice went viral. The maker was a teammates girlfriend who was up with us in the-the-the... bits where we watch and talk from!
Lawrence: Stands?
Nina: No clue. Probably. The end of it caught the WIgglytuff trainer's reaction and the joy that it brought me, I had to keep going!!
( Lawrence chuckles and flips through his notes cards. )
Lawrence: I cut you off earlier, by tanky you mean?
Nina: Loads of bulk, high HP, high attack, decent speed for a Greedent. People did not like it when, like, a turret just follows them as they try retreat. It's very fun!!
Lawrence: Did not and do not based on your last match.
Nina: OOOOOO YEAH THEY WERE SALTY, HAHAAA!!!!
( Nina begins cackling and kicking her feet. Her laugh devolves into crazed wheezing; Chuckles waddles over to the edge of her chair. With tears in her eyes, she strokes his head to calm herself. Lawrence has stopped laughing by this point and seems greatly concerned. Nina's voice is still croaky when she speaks. )
Nina: I'm good, I'm good. Heeeh... The Decidueye guy was soo p– malding.
Lawrence: I take it you're enjoying your time in the professional world?
Nina: I'm acclimating. I get to still screw with people. While I'm still quite low tier at least. As long as it doesn’t hinder teammates. I think we're getting better at actually playing. Chuckles' got mvp a few times, scored like 200 at some point.
Lawrence: Impressive!
( To show his enthusiasm he looks to Chuckles, who completely ignores him. )
Lawrence: Right... Uh, how much time..? One last question alright with you?
Nina: Yep, go head!!
Lawrence: How are you going to deal with the fans outside who know you’re here?
Nina: A good Bullet Seed spray should help!
( Nina giggles and Chuckles finally takes his attention off of food long enough to join in. )
Lawrence: Haha, that’s legally a joke, right?
Nina: Yes, yeah, obvi. I can spend a bit of time outside the place signing stuff. Don’t wanna clog your hallways. Chuckles’ll give berries to everyone he can.

( Chuckles squeaks in agreement. He looks at Nina with his paws close to his tail fur. )

( Chuckles roots around in his tail until he finds a pale berry with a dark centre. As he throws it behind the camera, he take a wepear out and places it on the interviewer’s lap. Lawrence tentatively moves it onto the table beside him. )

i set myself a “challenge” (had an idea of something that could be cool, said I’d try do it, and promptly got involved in something else) where I make human pokeverse ocs that have 1 pokemon so I can cover all the lines. I think this would count my chosen mon characters because I love Allegra too much to give anyone else a boltund. But then I have 2 Greedents. Unless Nina joins that story… I dunno. Nina is an Aeos celebrity! An 18 year old unite battler who made a name for herself and her then-Skwovet by being a troll, she’s now playing it (a bit) straight in the big leagues!
Appearance
Nina is a white redhead — proper red. Her hair is longer at the back, being near the bottom of her neck at the back yet a bit below jaw-length around her face. She typically has her face framed by hair and a loose strip down the middle that somehow doesn’t bother her. Her eyes are strikingly purple. Under her left eye is a heart tattoo; this is the only body mod she has.
Nina’s professional battle clothes and casual clothes are indistinguishable because they are the same. What’s the point of them being different? Then her work clothes are comfy and her non-work clothes are athletic. Brilliant! As a result her wardrobe is mostly tracksuit bottoms, leggings, and t-shirts, all in bright colours or black for an accentuating piece. The biggest “barrier items” are her cardigans, all of which have no buttons. She wears running shoes all the time.
Personality
With her bright, peppy appearance Nina definitely has the personality to match. When she enters the room everyone feels her happiness for at least a second. She is as bright-eyed as she looks and as bushy-tailed (in the idiomatic sense) as her dear partner, going from group activity to group activity.
Getting her fame from making others happy did leave her with identity issues for a while: if there was no one around to make happy, what was she meant to do? She is definitely better at being alone than when she started out, having taken up gardening. She’s trying to grow berries so she doesn’t have to pay the insane import tax. And for free food.
History
Nina is an only child of amicably divorced parents who separated when she was 2. They shared custody and both raised her and loved her as their worlds. She has lived in Aeos since she was 4, her parents moving after living in Unova for five years.
Nina’s childhood was a happy one.

I asked @fistful-of-rage for help naming her since their characters were a huge inspiration. They came up with naming her after Ninovium, the fake element claimed to be made by Victor Ninov with the number 118 (actually held by Oganesson!) since she’s a troll.
She and Chuckles have had an interview for the Unite Battle Network’s socials!
She is based on my current playstyle in Pokémon Unite: bulky bulky Greedent that’s off like a shot when it’s time to retreat. Then it’s right back to Bullet Seeding the opponent like a gattling gun. I enjoy it greatly.
She was going to be a part of a group of ocs who do a travel documentary series together, acting as the guest star host of the Aeos region episode, then tagging along for Kalos and Galar where she would gain a Cramorant. How she would’ve got the Cramorant may be used for another oc.

I feel like too many people sleep on experimentation for Pokemon ocs. In Pokémon Adventures, Red has an eevee called Vee that was experimented on by Team Rocket. He can evolve into Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon based on what’s needed and he can also devolve back to eevee. (He permanently evolved into an Espeon later and it’s treated positively if you’re curious). In the same manga series the Kantonian birds were fused together too! I get you might not want the angst that’s generally inherent to this, but you can push it further than natural oddities.
I’m going to be thinking of more ideas while adding more human names based on Pokemon to the big list.
