Okay so DLC pokemon list i put at the end of the spoilers has me thinking

So aside from no Pokemon from Paldea (why) and no Flygon (lol, lmao even)

There is a good chance this DLC will do a few insane things like showing Golurk's canon mode. Giving Megaquaza a fat nerf via needing a keystone. Mega Meloetta with an honest to god in game Miku from Project Voltage for the questline.

Like holy fuck this is gonna go insane for 30 dollars.

I've been thinking about how Gamefreak treats "non Pokemon" ideas

In Sun and Moon Ultra beasts were not Pokemon but Alien creatures from between dimensions, Abortions of reality that are conquering invaders. This was backed up by stuff like the Tapu's being actual menaces implied to have invaded a long time ago despite being "guardians" of Alola. It was a really cool concept that I was all in for but then USUM changed it to "Pokemon from different universes".

Now recently we have Paradox Pokemon. From the outset they are defined as Pokemon but different. before the DLC they were Pokemon that paradoxically can not exist. Like why are the Future Pokemon all Robot and how could Sandy Shocks even exist in 10,000 BC. The implication is they were willed into existence by the drive for adventure and danger in Area Zero by Terapagos as these Pokemon were in Area Zero BEFORE the time machine. The DLC changes them to just like the ultra beasts being from "Caveman Poke-earth" or "Robot Poke-earth"

My conclusion is Gamefreak is so afraid of cool ideas that they'll have to give room to after Megas became so beloved. Regional Forms were a big idea and they didn't want to overshadow them with post game aliens each game so they tried to devalue Ultra Beasts. Same happened with Paradox Pokemon probably, they probably liked the Convergent Pokemon idea (despite only making fucking six of em) they decided to make Paradox Pokemon just a weird one off idea. I'm honestly tired of it.
