Best Mega Evolution Tournament- Round 1: Match 28
Mega Gyarados vs Mega Zygarde
Mega Gyarados
Mega Zygarde
One Legendary and one all time classic Pokémon, but which one will be the victor?
Gyarados has been a classic for 30 years, and Mega Gyarados is a fierce new form of the beast! Lysander uses it as his ace Pokémon in X and Y, and it's pretty fitting considering its new Dark typing. With 30 extra stat points in each of its defenses and its Attack, it can tear through opponents with ease and take plenty of punishment too. In fact, it can split large ships in two as it soars above the water at Mach speed- destructively spraying water from both sides of its body. And its power isn't being restrained by its brain any longer either! The only brain function that doesn't cease upon mega evolution is its anger and ferocity as it goes on a rampage. This creature isn't just dangerous, its life threatening to anyone standing in their way, practically a force of nature! Are you a fan of this terrifying update of one of Generation 1's premier Water types?
One of the most important new Megas to come from Legends Z-A is Mega Zygarde! The long overshadowed third member of X and Y's Legendary trio finally got a form more powerful than anything Xerneas or Yveltal could possibly muster. It doesn't get the 100 extra stat points when mega evolving that every other Mega does- but frankly it doesn't need it when it has the highest Special Attack of all Pokémon ever, at a ridiculous 216. This is also matched by its HP, the highest of any Ground type and the 5th highest of any Pokémon. Using that power, it unleashes devastating blasts from its cannon, in a manner similar to Alola's Z-moves, with the move Nihil Light- the only Mega exclusive move. It has 200 power with no drawback, and even ignores Fairy types' normal immunity to Dragon moves. Frankly, it's a delete button. Mega Zygarde only really appears in response to people's emotions during an unprecedented crisis, and in spite of its enormous power, it can calm people down with ease. Honestly one of the most powerful beings we've ever seen in this series, does it earn your vote after its heroism in Legends Z-A?
Best Mega Evolution Tournament- Round 1: Match 27
Mega Chandelure vs Mega Crabominable
Mega Chandelure
Mega Crabominable
Just three matches left in this Round, but we're not slowing down!
Mega Chandelure was introduced in Legends Z-A, as the ace Pokémon of the character Gwynn, and it's a very powerful new form for the fan favourite Gen 5 classic! Now an elaborate 2-tiered chandelier, Mega Chandelure absorbs hatred and converts it into power- and there's clearly plenty to go around, judging by its huge 175 Special Attack! That's the highest of any Ghost or Fire type, and is tied with Mega Alakazam for the highest of any non-Legendary Pokémon as well. You may have also noticed that one of Mega Chandelure's eyes has changed colour due to mega evolution too, but that's not just an aesthetic change. That eye is not just an eye now- it's a window to the afterlife! Truly amplifying the ghostly parts of this Ghost type, maybe don't look too close- but maybe give it a vote?
Well, the other option this match is perhaps a Mega that few were expecting from the Mega Dimension DLC- it's Mega Crabominable! Now reared up on back legs encased in ice while it wields huge, heavy hammer-like pincers, Mega Crabominable can pulverise reinforced concrete with just the lightest swing of its pincers! With 157 in its Attack, that's clear to anyone on the other end of the battlefield! It also gains significant defensive power upon mega evolution, with an extra 45 in its Defense and 40 in its Special Defense, making it hard to take down as well as hard to survive. The only downside to its mega evolution is a slight decrease in its mobility, with it having to rely on its huge pincers to help propel itself forward. But when you hit that hard, is that much of a downside? Are you a fan of Mega Crabominable? And does its immense strength earn some respect- and some votes?
A dumped assortment of random edits I’ve made but (I think) never posted for some reason. Fun fact the second one is my own message LMAOO. For anyone new some of these are various different AUs which is why there’s like. Multiple designs happening here 😭
Bonus version of evil shadow self featuring Keys ( @pokemonblack3white3 ) because I thought it’d be funny

Silly thought: Poppy is, in fact, Geeta's adopted kid, but every time someone asks her how that happened, Geeta gives a different answer. Some of her stories for Poppy include:
"She was made in a lab by scientists with the hope to one day usurp my position."
"I'm actually not human, I made Poppy myself."
"She's actually my niece, my sister was no longer capable of caring for her and I've taken the role myself."
"I asked her parents if I could have her and they said yes."
"Diantha only meant to have one daughter and asked if I'd like one of them."
"She simply appeared in my home one day."
"Poppy is actually a rather skilled Trainer from 80 years ago, but had an unfortunate encounter with Jirachi that resulted in a misinterpreted wish."
"I mistook her for a Tinkaton and didn't realise until I had my glasses on." (She doesn't even wear glasses)
"I met her in a Unovan orphanage and simply took her home with me."
"I'm not supposed to speak of it until it's settled in court, but Cynthia owes me quite a small fortune in child support payments."
"She's an extra terrestrial I'm tasked with teaching the joys of Pokemon to."
"She's a haunted doll who began to occupy my home one stormy night long ago..."
"I haven't worked up the courage to tell Rika what happened that night."
"The professor found her wandering around Area Zero. The other Pokemon there seemed scared of her." (This one gets dropped after the professor's demise is revealed)
"It's best not to know." Said with a thousand yard stare.
"Hm? I've told you before, have I not?" She has not.
Geeta deserves to be a little silly. As a treat!

In the southwest corner of Paldea lies our next challenge, the penultimate gym badge! So we head south from where we fought the Titan Bombirdier all that time ago, and make our way to this huge cavern we'll have to cross in order to get there.
It's gonna be a bit of a trek!
Not quite the same
I like giving Kieran my vocal stims
i was so high, i did not recognize the fire burning in her eyes; the chaos that controls my mind.
hey this must be so awkward but i have a theory that your boyfriend is secretly a worm. yeah if you could take a look at my conspiracy board here, you'll see that he just has sort of a worm mentality, and knows things that only a worm would know. so not to put you on the spot or anything, but would you still love him?
So before the DLC comes out and GameFreak cowardly disproves my very smart and especially very serious Pokémon theory for which I have utterly ironclad evidence, I'd like to call attention to a number of Official Zygarde Personality Traits. Canonically, Zygarde:
is unable to Mega Evolve for most of the plot of Legends Z-A, as well as for all time preceding Z-A, therefore including X&Y
dislikes being unable to Mega Evolve, because it knows that harnessing the power of Mega Evolution is vital to protecting Kalos
seeks out the Z-A protagonist for help because they are a strong Trainer who can wield Mega Evolution in a way that Zygarde can't
saved Lysandre from the ultimate weapon
believes in second chances, particularly seeing potential in Lysandre to correct his old mistakes and become a better, more emotionally balanced person capable of doing better things, particularly after losing his memories/experiencing ego death
Dragon/Ground-type
has its Cells and Cores stored in the Zygarde Cube
gains access to Complete Form, requiring all Cells and Cores, in Sun & Moon onward
could be reasonably argued to "have beef" with Fairy-types, eventually learning a signature Dragon-type move that Fairy-types are not immune to
So, it sure would be suspicious if there was a human NPC, or should I say, "human" NPC, who canonically...
once trained at the Tower of Mastery to learn about Mega Evolution, but "didn't have what it takes" and left
instead recruits the protagonist of X&Y and guides them on their path to help "solve the mystery of Mega Evolution"
has a well-documented soft spot for Lysandre
described the player stopping Team Flare as an act that "also saved Lysandre," way back in X&Y when all reasonable people assumed that Lysandre was just fucking dead
desired for Lysandre to "put his ego aside and lead everything to greater heights"
entrusted a different former member of Team Flare with a new job and opportunity to reform her old life
associated with Garchomp, a Dragon/Ground-type Pokémon
"discovered" the Zygarde Cube, with absolutely zero details ever given about how he "discovered" the Zygarde Cube
tasked his assistants with collecting Zygarde Cells in Alola to reassemble Zygarde's fully-powered form
has not appeared since X&Y, and by extension does not appear in ANY main-series game where Zygarde Complete Form is accessible, i.e. ANY game where all of Zygarde's cells and cores can be accounted for at the same time
most famously and conspicuously, has not appeared in the Zygarde-centric game set in the literal same city that said NPC used to live and research in
has an utterly half-assed excuse about "doing research in another region" to explain his lack of physical appearance in said Zygarde-centric game
had a huge role in scientifically formalizing the Fairy typing. you know, almost like a Dragon-type sick and tired of not being taken seriously when it tried to explain "hey these little pink fuckers SUCK actually" might do.
...But, of course, I'm sure there's not really an NPC like that. Because that would be just too suspicious.
Behold: a totally normal thing to find barely twenty seconds away from Terminus Cave, which is where Zygarde lives:
[ID from alt: a message on a bench in Couriway Town in X&Y, reading: "To the person reading this: What are you like now? Did you become who you wanted to be? For starters, what was the person you wanted to become even like? I don't know, but it would be wonderful if you can boast that you're living each day to the fullest. To future Sycamore. From the Sycamore dreaming of the future."
Last, a map of the Kalos region where Terminus Cave and Couriway Town are circled, and captioned "where zygarde lives" and "this message," respectively. They're nearly bordering each other on the far west side of the map, closer to each other than to any other landmarks. End ID.]
this could mean anything
[ID from alt:
Lysandre in his first appearance in XY saying: "The children chosen by the professor… I wonder what potential they have."
L in his first appearance in ZA saying: "And now that you two have battled, it appears Zygarde has decided. It's chosen you."
L in ZA again saying: "I would expect nothing less from one of those whom Zygarde sees potential in."
End ID.]
